My fear with advertising something that's already selling is whether I'd get those sales organically anyways (something we can't really test) and end up losing money to ads that didn't need to be spent. Especially with best sellers. Really enjoyed this store analysis!

You actually can test it by turning ads off and seeing what happens. Across different products and platforms it almost always works out better to leave them on...at least for us!

@@CrayonBoxDoodles They failed to mention ads work best on your top 10% of items ONLY. They work WELL on your top 25% of items without ads.

Kudos to her success. She definitely has a good sense of what customers are looking for. Regarding the costs she put into ads, i am wondering though if she she did not only break even, but maybe even lost money. Margins with POD can be very low, especially with shirts.

There's no reason margins need to be low on Pod...price it to make money!

@@brandcreators yes, of course, but taking competitor prices and ads into account, profit margins on tshirts are really not that high.

Advertise group listings - much higher ROAS! :)

@@CrayonBoxDoodles i personally do not do POD, but i looked into it and did some research on pricing etc. I do handmade products and i have a good ad strategy in which i only put ads on my 3 current bestselling listings. My comment was solely geared towards the strategy of the lady in the video. I would just have liked to know if she broke even or if she even lost money. I know she mentioned that she did not plan on making any money for 1 year. Part of the reason why she had so much success could have been that she was pricing very low compared to her competition. When doing a video in POD the really important metric to always include is profit. Revenue alone can be very deceiving. I know that there are certain POD products that can give you up to 40% profit, but a lot of sellers only make a couple of bucks per item.

@brandcreators - can you do private shop audits at a cost if you don’t want to be on YT or in your group?

Hi Guys! I appreciate the advice y'all give out! I'm a very new shop on Etsy and have only 140 items and sold 2 items so far. 0 from ads. I've run couple sales but no sales from it. I am worried my SEOs may not be good. Are y'all doing shop audit? If yes, where would I post shop link or name of shop?

When adding new personalized items for Q4, do you recommend going ahead and using hello custom to make personalization easier and less time consuming if we are new Etsy sellers?

Lets make a quick math here: at 17:40 - $1200 Ads spent and $2026 revenue in 30 days. POD shop, so the profit margins are circa around 30%. So, the actual profit from $2026 is around $610. She spent $1200, so result is -$600. What is the secret then if she says she actually makes profit? With pod profit margins cannot be 50-60-70%, her prices are around this margin is she uses Printify.

      She's also getting organic sales.
Like we talked about in the video....the sales that are coming in are great...but there is a lot of wasted spend there that can turn that frown upside down and drive more profitable sales not just from ads...but organically as well

Using just the ad return sales on Etsy will usually leave you wondering why you bother
If you run them and can get around a 2-2.5 then generally i find it’s a good thing because your organic traffic also jumps so then you can look at it overall
      For example
Without ads you earn 500 a month
And with spending 100 on ads you earn 1000 a month even though your ads spend says you spent 100 for 200 your organic also jumped by 300
I think hers were so low because she was advertising such a massive amount of listings it’s impossible to make it more efficient

how many message replies are people getting compared to how many are sent through etsy, ive only had 2 sales so am unsure to what to expect. would you recommend messaging twice or more if no response? my idea was that it would be ideal to do 3 messages in the span of 6 months for a ghost customer. thanx for guiding me thru my etsy journey

I'm ready to get serious about pod on Etsy. I have had an etsy store for a few years that I have used to sell vintage items. I have almost 400 listings with 114 feedback (4.5 stars). About 30 of my existing listings are pod. I've had several pod sales with about 8 feedback. Should I keep this store with a good sales history and feedback for pod, and move my vintage to a new store? Or should i start a new store with no sales or feedback for my pod store? I want my main focus to be pod. Thanks for your advice!

    • @brandcreators

I would probably keep the vintage where it is and start fresh for POD...unless you see the audiences overlapping somehow in your niche

I really don't understand how people don't know the etsy ad's are a scam lol. Etsy has no interest in helping you, that's something you have to do on your own.
