    As a senior medical student in Ohio, I was doing a rotation in Anesthesiology at Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia in March 1982. Teddy was brought to Jefferson after his crash. The next day the surgeons performed a surgical procedure to stabilize his cervical spine, which was broken in the accident. I saw him lying on the operating table that morning. He had a magnificent body. We knew that his life would be forever changed. Very memorable. Too bad that an accident investigation was not done, since his fleet of luxury autos had been damaged one by one. Brake lines cut--that sort of thing. Was he a victim of foul play in 1982? We'll never know now.

Some str8 ppl lump all the LGBTQ in one box...there are many degrees of sexuality between gay and straight, it's not all black and white straight or gay, there are degrees of sexuality that fall in between that are not the same equivalent to being gay or being straight..

    that kind of freakish stuck accelerator happen to me. I was driving on the freeway in Oakland and I ran into traffic. I put the breaks on but the car sped up faster. so I had the presence of mind to just put the car in neutral and that saved my life. when the car was in neutral the motor was racing but I could now use the breaks. I pulled over and shut the motor off. then I went under the hood and played with the accelerator shafts until it was lose. then I started up the car went to work. then I lubed up the shafts and didn't have that problem again. I was very lucky that I didn't slam into someone. motto of the story is if your accelerator ever gets stuck on you just put the car in neutral and pull over to the shoulder and cut the motor off.

      If you notice she said that the car sped up and she was " wondering" if he was driving fast. Normally when someone drives faster ,you ask them to slow down. Of course she noticed he was struggling with the wheel because it was near her head, if you know what I mean. And she stated that all she "heard" was a big crash....Heard ? She should have seen the crash happening. Question where were her eyes. And why was Teddy Pendergrass pants all the way down to his ankles when they found him ? What a person doesn't say usually tells volumes, and by the way she was a "known" prostitute and transsexual. Generally a straight man would not offer a ride to a transsexual....I'm just saying.

    So basically he was trickin and wound up getting into an accident??

    • @DatSoulBoss
      @DatSoulBoss 10 лет назад +26

      No...basically he was giving a friend a ride home & that was pretty much that.
      Had he been "tricking", considering how many people have been waiting to hear from Tanika, not to mention how she could've gotten paid had she confirmed rumors, she certainly could've said so.
      The fact that she didn't do so is quite telling, as nowhere did she suggest that he was trying to pick her up. Think about it...If the rumors that she's been living with since 1982 were true, as she's written a book about, don't you think that if there was something scandalous involved which would help her book sales that she'd have spit some dirt?
      But she didn't do that, did she? Not even to sell a few more copies of her book. If the rumors are true, then why didn't she drop the bomb & sell a few more books in the process?
      A lot of folks full well know what happened that night & I promise you this...they'll never go on record & say what happened that night.
      And anyone who really believes that it had anything to do with him soliciting a transvestite or a prostitute is as wrong as two left shoes. In many cases such as this, always remember one truth...
      Those who tell don't know & those who know don't tell.
      But for those whom want to believe the rumors, I guess that they'll be contented with doing so.
      And 34 years later, they're still wrong, but I guess that it makes for a better story that way.

    Famous people are people too. Don’t worship people’s celebrity so much. I don’t know what he was into, or who he was into it with. Don’t even care, either. You can admire the art without worshipping the artist. Teddy was a talented cat, artistically speaking. His musical legacy lives on. I’ll leave The speculation is for gossip mongers.

    I remember that night, we were all supposed to go to Lola Falana's house in Jersey after his performance on Broad street for the after party. Me and my buddy/business partner, Fred ( we were an up and coming production company trying to sign artists) chose to not go) next morning I heard about the accident. Needless to say, we, my partner and i were spooked, talked about it and dropped our plans for a production company which was to be head-quartered in NY, with main production offices offices in Philly at Broad and South in a building we were trying to purchase. --- I've always thought something was not right about the accident and felt he or us were targeted---TRUE STORY---wish i could tell you more but that book is closed

    A car don't just suddenly go out of control by itself, especially a Rolls Royce. Teddy drove to the club, apparently with no issues with the car. Secondly, she says "and all of a sudden I heard this great big bang" now correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't she in the car with Teddy when the accident happened??? She says she suddenly "heard" this great big bang, as if she was anywhere but in the car and heard this bang...I think she (or he) needs to get the story straight.
