As Cubie pointed out, the issue of coaches influencing decisions regarding the availability or unavailability of athletes must be addressed… Juliet is also correct about the different factions negatively affecting national teams. I see this as the primary reason why our stock has dropped on the world stage. Where are the leaders?

The Bolt Era just happened BUT it really started with MVP Asafa and Sharone Simpson who were both ranked number 1 in the world prior to Bolt's real arrival in 2008.

@@user-oq7ji2rx4l Asafa set Di ting.... More time people forget.... I remember when he was the lead man..... A lot of youths got motivated by him to enter tracks.... And these youths do pay homage to him. Asafa is so humble ... No hype and the younger athletes love him because he is so approachable.

@@YaadandOvaSoh Yes he was and that might have been part of his issues. He wanted to please rather than compete. Great sprinter though and our first 100m world record holder.

@@user-oq7ji2rx4l what do you mean to please rather than compete... Asafa always shows up. My only issue with Asafa is that he outgrew MVP and he should have moved on to another coach .... Maybe a Glen Mills, but Asafa's loyalty wouldn't allow him to do that.

Thanks for sharing Dr. Greg. Wasn’t keeping up until I ran into your RUclips channel. The business sense of this whole thing was not being exercised. Thankfully though, it is happening now.

wow! that was a lot that was said and eye opening I believe going Forword everyone on the JAAA and JOA should be replaced its clear that their decisions are not in the athlete's best interest but for their personal gains and if Adidas have improved on their offer why haven't they accepted it that would be better for the country the athletes and infrastructure which we are badly in need of well let's see what will happen going forward but we need changes now and am sure a lot of people will hate Cubie now but am happy he spoke out . and for the coach who threaten to leave if his athlete didn't get the leg she wanted when i think of it I know exactly who it is we need change.

that's why we cannot be better . the self gratification of our leaders . Jamaican athletes need to start asking what happens to the Adidas proposal

Here is my take on this matter, people who were around when Juliet was running are still in administration--unreal!!!

Exactly, it is ridiculous! Term limits are critical! New blood on these management bodies is critical to keep up with current trends and minimize corruption. Also, there needs to also be an oversite board of directors who can fire and hire.

There is so much work to be done! We are in disarray! We have 2 years for World Championship and 4 years for the Olympics! We can rebuild! Time is precious...time to get serious!
I always felt that the retired athlete's like Bolt, Shelley etc should be mentors to these younger athletes no matter which club they belong to!!
Seems we have forgotten "Out of many, we are one"!

For the most part as far as i know Jamaica's below par performance is due primarily to injuries. I am sure the team will bounce back. Lyles will not beat Kishane again. Seville will be back. Jamaica has so much in the tank i see no need to panic. The incompetent management has been masked by spectacular performances of the athletes over the years. Now is therefore the opportune time to get this right.

One of the main problem is Jamaican athletes are always injured. They would have won more medals if Elaine Thompson, Shelly Ann Fraser and Shericka Jackson are injured.

Can you help me, please, Dr Haughton.
Was the men's 100-meter race the only one in Paris in which the gold medal position was judged up to 1/000 per second
All others seemed to me were judged up to 1/00, e g the hurdles event on which the US athlete was given silver and the J'can bronze when both did the same time.
    Thanks!

GREAT BRITAIN IS WAY BIGGER COUNTRY THAN US, THEY SHOULD BE BETTER THAN US. Where was Addidas when we never have sponsors. Puma is who step to the forefront. Addidas and Nike drop our athletes like fly. All have and the JAAA was in the same bed. Don't come now like you all was cry out for the athletes that is cry now.
