- in TLC's Sister Wives, Kody is trying his best to break Christine's spirits by breaking her bankbook. Kody has repeatedly admitted that he isn't attracted to Christine, nor does he want to have a functional marriage with her. In many ways it appears that Kody is attempting to use the power of the purse to not only keep her in the family but to punish her for having the audacity to attempt to leave him. Taking control of her life and seizing her power, Christine is letting go of anger, revenge, and Kody.
Christine is holding a master class on how to leave a toxic narcissist. She states her case and isn’t swayed or baited by Kody’s manipulation.

I love Jenelle yet again, she cleared some thing up. Did anyone else see the clip. She said we gave money from the family to Christine for her down payment. We ALSO gave money to kody and Robin for their down payment. The previous episode Kody acted like he and Robin were some kind of knight in shining armor saving Christine. Failing to mention the rest of the story.

I forgot to plug it into the video, but you are right. Kody also forgot to mention the reason Christine has the house in her name is because her Vegas house sold and she gave the "family" their money back. To your point about Robyn's house being more expensive, her down payment may have been what the "family" gave her plus the profit for her sale of her Vegas home. In this instance, Robyn was allowed to double dip into the "family" money, mostly because she hasn't worked and the home in Vegas and Arizona is and was paid for by the "family."
It’s clear the men hide assets. Why is there family money? Should Kody not be contributing half the rent/mortgage for all 4 homes and half the down payments from money he earns? They are not putting money into the kids, at least child 3 on. He doesn’t know community college is affordable? His older kid went to a private school paid way too much. Some of the boys went the military route. They are supposed to mother all the kids. Why doesn’t Christine get Savanah every now and then? It was a lie. In the beginning and even last episode she didn’t just leave kody. Yet also the line has been we are sealed to each other. All the wives are married to each. Along with we are all married to Kody. JB Duggar seemed to get the money as well. His adult kids complained. Kate got all the money, the show and Jon’s inability to do a show and child support based off those few years of show money. All to get rid of him. She had an estate with room for a pony. A few months before they ended it. Their TLC improved home sold a few years later for 200K. They should have fully paid off that home, similar 200K home and coparented the kids even if the show stopped and they had to go back to nursing and IT. TLC should be legally required to change how they pay people.
His ego won’t let her go in peace. No surprise from him, it’s his usual behaviour.

Hi James,that's how these narcissistic men are. They want to see you, messed up and helpless. I struggled financially after, separating from my ex husband. But the Lord, brought me through it. After some time, I looked younger and refreshed. He truly had sucked, the life and joy out of my life. I'm content to live my life in peace now. I refuse, to get back in a relationship, with the same dynamics again. I'm not looking, but I'm alert if anyone approaches. I'm too mature, to fall for a dream of make believe.

50/50 of something he put 1%? Yes she got lucky made a bit more then normal she sold when the market was super high. But that was part luck part good investment. That doesn’t mean he deserves it. He’s paying for Robyn mortgage. Christine paid for her own. BTW I actually believe she’s coming out with less that she should’ve. Where the 1/4 of the “family money”? She was entitle to her 1/4 plus her part of the land she paid for, plus whatever she profit from the house sale deducting 3/4 of the deposit the FAMILY gave her, plus 1/4 of the deposit the FAMILY gave Robyn. Plus Child support. I never actually believed Kody (Robyn indirectly) exploited his wives for money. Now I can see it.
She definitely short changed herself, but I think she was willing to walk away with less so she could have a clean break. In exchange for the money she lost, she gained piece of mind. While Kody and Robyn are still arguing over yesterdays problems, Christine is living in the present and looking towards the future. Besides trying to get her rightful cut would only put her in Kody & Crew's orbit longer than she needed and they would just take the opportunity to steal her joy.

I think Robyn is 100% behind all of this. Don’t get me wrong, I know Kody is a complete jerk. I just think Robyn plays on Kody. He’s not as smart as he thinks he is. Kody might have had some toxic traits before Robyn, next to Meri, no wife has been as underhanded and manipulative as playing herself the victim who everyone blames while slowly isolating Kody from the rest of his wives and children. Every time the ladies wanted to have a real conversation, her come the Robyn waterworks with NO VISIBLE TEARS. This by itself is a manipulation tactic shut down criticism so she is never truly held accountable for her divisive behavior. Meri has had her low points, but I think her bullying and bringing Robyn into the family was out of jealously and feeling minimized. But, Robyn was and is playing on a whole other level but they were not expecting Christine to finally be done and for Kody to completely lose it in response.

I completely agree with your explanation of Kody's "you can't leave me, I'm the one that leaves you" attitude and I also feel like Robyn's shown a lot of jealousy of Christine for the same kind of thing. Her happiness depends on the misery of the other three wives and the evil joy she gets out of the fact that she freely gets the attention that the other wives have worked so hard to get. Christine leaving is a bit of a blow to Robyn's ego too.

I just don’t understand his anger towards Christine?! he wasn’t into her, yet Christine Still showed him more Respect then Mary! she didn’t try to have secret affairs, and embarrass him publicly, she has always been honest with him always about how she was feeling. I am truly amazed how gracious Christine is in this situation! I think it is wonderful, I honestly don’t know how she restrains herself with some of the things that are being said!
I’ve heard Robyn say many times she entered the family for the sister wife/plural marriage bond. Yet she has never shown any interest in anyone except Kody. She isn’t close with any of the other wives. Maybe Meri. She seems to have gone out of her way to divide this family from the beginning. She won’t let Kody be away from her kids for a few days. She has the only romantic relationship with him. She’s the legal wife. She just came in like a bull in a China cabinet and tore right through them. Seems like the only reason her and Kody don’t want Christine to leave is because it will lower the total family income from the show. How will they pay for Robyn’s VS panties if Christine takes her share of the show money? She may have to let the nanny go. 😱😂

But even in Vegas I think she had to rent out the garage to him letting him put wrestling mats there in exchange for a little more money for groceries. This show put in me the desire for this to be a felony with prison time. I was thinking live and let live the first episode. The ones with the police watching was pure fantasy and paranoid behavior. AZ could prosecute but unless there is a basement wife no one knows about he isn’t really being polygamist. He is just being greedy.

And I said, “I have nothing left to lose. I will burn this house to the ground before I stay with you.” Literally the exact words you said! Btw I’m free now, and just like Christine and Truely, my DD and I wake up every day with smiles on our faces. It makes me so happy to see Christine finally get out. Your words about how Kody should have made sure his wife had enough to take care of Truely and live a decent place hit home too. Because my ex, like Kody, had to get the last word. He left the country in an attempt to take revenge on me, leaving me penniless. And I’m happier for it haha. Anyway sorry for the rant - clearly you struck a nerve, in the best way!

Here is something I can see occurring in the future. All the Brown kids get together and sue Kody for withholding their funds paid for their appearances on the show. Them Through Janelle’s knowledge and records (I’m sure Janelle has records) the three women go after Kody and Robyn for embezzlement of the family funds. Leans put on Robyn and Kodys mansion. And their mansion is auctioned off to pay back what they stole from the family pot. Kody and Robyn have the most to loose and they are acting like greedy fools, and fools do not stay on top for long. Oh….and a high child support ordered by the court for the support of Truly….based on Kody’s claimed $200 per hour earning capacity. That would be justice!

Meri has a long history of cruel behavior toward J, Ch, and all their kids. Maddie Brown Brush tweeted that Meri was abu$ive and a monster, and that she grew up in fear of Meri. Meri was so cruel to Janelle in the early years, that Janelle chose to live in another state for two years to avoid Meri's abu$e.

SisterWives show would not have even been on this many seasons without the fans loving Janelle and Christine so without those two fabulous women the show would’ve ended a decade ago

Christine is absolutely entitled to at least 25% of all assets. She put decades of work into that family as the primary caregiver for all the children. She also was the one who got them the show - Christine was the one with the name (royalty in the religion) and was an advocate for polygamy and would speak about it. Someone saw her speaking and approached their family about doing the show. Christine is their meal ticket and they know it. But we should also realize that Christine is in a unique situation here. She has the privilege and financial security to be able to walk away from Kody with less than she deservers and know she will be okay. Most women who have given their lives to caregiving for their children and supported their husband while he built his career are not in this same situation. Yet most men look at it like Kody does, where they think the woman isn't entitled to "his" money. As great of an example as Christine is being during this, most women in this situation do have to engage with their ex and get pulled into arguments and legal battles due to their lack of that financial privilege that Christine has.

I would say that in terms of her actual job, being on the show, and her many years of endless domestic labor (including being the primary caretaker of at least TWELVE of the kids), which allowed other family members to work, she has contributed more than plenty to the family finances.
Plus working a night job besides. Christine is a very wonderful, selfless person.
