When Kody whines about what a 'great guy' he is, all it takes is ONE 'knife to the kidneys' scream-fest, and I know different. The way those women acted, like statues, while he 'went off' to know they had seen THIS before, probably a lot of times, showed me what Kody was like behind closed doors. Robyn's telling Kody she thought it would be a secret between them about the wedding dress told me what I needed to know about her. She was totally willing to play those other wives to gain 'favor' with Kody.
This "sacred covenant" makes no sense anyway. Who goes into a marriage saying-- instead of till death do us part-- "you ever want to go, I will sacredly let you go." What's "sacred" about that? And how does that square with polygamy, Kody? The other wives obviously thought you were married for life-- until you made that impossible. And presumably when you married Robyn, they thought she was permanent too. Shouldn't they have known that Robyn was given permission to leave at any moment? Don't their adopted children deserve to know that Kody can quit the marriage too at any time? But nothing about Robyn and Kody makes much sense. Imagine being Meri during Kody's marriage to Robyn, when he's making eyes at her for the camera. Then cut to season 18 when he calls his behaviour a performance. Kody has verbalized that he "love bombed" some of these relationships. My opinion is that Kody and Robyn's psychological profile doesn't have insight into just how hurtful they are. The "hidden blessing" of the show is that at least some of the manipulation is documented as sad as that is.

I’m glad we got to see how polygamy/religious/cult really works. We all had ideas, but now we know. It’s setup to lie right away. Be secretive. Women are meant to suffer in silence, for the good of God and salvation. They say men do, but we saw how Kody reacted when he didn’t get what he wanted or when he was unhappy. He didn’t like suffering, especially in silence. The women have to prove themselves to the man. Cannot discuss their feelings to anyone. The children are barely seen and certainly not heard. Cannot afford all these kids. Let alone 4 wives. It opened all our eyes. So thank you for showing us in real time how awful we all thought Polygamy was. What I got from this, is that it’s NOT a real religion. If it were, it would have leaders that taught these men how important it was to maintain your family with Love and support. I really don't care what TLC shows us on Kody and Robyn. All I needed to see and hear are how his wives and kids talk about him off the show. The people who know him best are hurt and angry and thats what matters.

(2) Dishonest editing can be a thing but Brady Williams gave a specific example of an edit that intentionally misled the audience about an incident and he put his foot down about it. Kody doesn't specific example; it's just an excuse for Kody so he can pretend to be a victim.
I appreciate the variations of context. Often the viewers are being told how each specific incident we are confused, didn't have the right angle, misinterpreted a moment etc. In this format we see how unreliable a narrator Robyn is over multiple platforms and communication styles. Across the spectrum we're privy to she cannot be trusted to share even her own story. Great work James! Thank you for your hard work.

James, you're my JAM. The way you cut through all the BS and lies and distill it down is what I need. Sometimes I get so caught up in the individual threads I miss the tapestry. I need you to keep doing your videos! You are like the 'fine tuning' knob on the 1950's T.V.s. You clear up the picture. When Kody whines about what a 'great guy' he is, all it takes is ONE 'knife to the kidneys' scream-fest, and I know different. The way those women acted, like statues, while he 'went off' to know they had seen THIS before, probably a lot of times, showed me what Kody was like behind closed doors. Robyn's telling Kody she thought it would be a secret between them about the wedding dress told me what I needed to know about her. She was totally willing to play those other wives to gain 'favor' with Kody.
This "sacred covenant" makes no sense anyway. Who goes into a marriage saying-- instead of till death do us part-- "you ever want to go, I will sacredly let you go." What's "sacred" about that?
And how does that square with polygamy, Kody? The other wives obviously thought you were married for life-- until you made that impossible. And presumably when you married Robyn, they thought she was permanent too. Shouldn't they have known that Robyn was given permission to leave at any moment? Don't their adopted children deserve to know that Kody can quit the marriage too at any time?
But nothing about Robyn and Kody makes much sense. She keeps talking about wanting sister wives and polygamy, but she only went to them when she could get some use out of them. It doesn't seem like at any point she really thought of all the kids as her kids. Heck, she even got Kody to think of the OG13 as ... stepchildren? Or "my kids' distant relations"? But she talks like polygamy is just what she wants.
And Kody acts like all his wives except Robyn kind of forced him into marriage. Also we should absolutely sympathize with how he never loved them and had to suffer all those years pretending to love them and lying to them when he said they loved him. He's so afraid to let Robyn think he ever loved anyone else, he's willing to let us (and the other wives) think of him as someone who lied for DECADES about something so important as love. He lied to them to get money and their time and love and energy and sex and children?

Imagine being Meri during Kody's marriage to Robyn, when he's making eyes at her for the camera. Then cut to season 18 when he calls his behaviour a performance. Kody has verbalized that he "love bombed" some of these relationships. My opinion is that Kody and Robyn's psychological profile doesn't have insight into just how hurtful they are. The "hidden blessing" of the show is that at least some of the manipulation is documented as sad as that is.
What did Robyn bring to the family? Debt? More mouths to feed? Mari and Kodys divorce? I'm struggling to find a positive for the family. Kody yes, the sister wives and the OG kids, nothing positive.

I’m glad we got to see how polygamy/religious/cult really works. We all had ideas, but now we know. It’s setup to lie right away. Be secretive. Women are meant to suffer in silence, for the good of God and salvation. They say men do, but we saw how Kody reacted when he didn’t get what he wanted or when he was unhappy. He didn’t like suffering, especially in silence. The women have to prove themselves to the man. Cannot discuss their feelings to anyone. The children are barely seen and certainly not heard. Cannot afford all these kids. Let alone 4 wives. It opened all our eyes. So thank you for showing us in real time how awful we all thought Polygamy was. What I got from this, is that it’s NOT a real religion. If it were, it would have leaders that taught these men how important it was to maintain your family with Love and support. Kody doesn't specific example; it's just an excuse for Kody so he can pretend to be a victim.
I appreciate the variations of context. Often the viewers are being told how each specific incident we are confused, didn't have the right angle, misinterpreted a moment etc. In this format we see how unreliable a narrator Robyn is over multiple platforms and communication styles. Across the spectrum we're privy to she cannot be trusted to share even her own story. Great work James! Thank you for your hard work.

Robin has known everything about how the OG 3 and Kodys relationships were from the very beginning … I’ve been saying this for the longest time!! Kody Mari and Robin even had to go to therapy together because Mari was having such a hard time with Robin coming into the family and her and Kodys relationship was shit! That all happened before they got married!!! Kody made Mari and Robin go to therapy the 3 of them to basically make Mari get good with Robin coming into the family…. I know they all like to say Mari was the one who brought her in and I’m sure that Mari liked Robin and enjoyed talking to her and thought of her as a friend but I’m pretty damn sure that Mari was not the one who was the “bait” …. Mari wasn’t the bait with Janelle. Kody and Janelle started that relationship behind Mari’s back basically …. Let me catch you a new wife!! It’s funny though with the whole circling the donkey and Robin the world’s best communicator … cause the episode that Kody basically called Robin a donkey was the episode Robin sat with Kody Mari and Janelle and said “if you don’t wanna try anymore then I need to know” and Mari was like I think you know I’m here Robin I’ve been here trying this whole time and Robin just nods her head and gets into her confessional and is like I appreciate what Mari said but I was really asking Janelle and Kody and I kept silent because I didn’t want to intimidate them.
First off, how much power has Kody led you to believe you have? Intimidate Janelle? 😂😂😂
2nd- if she’s SUCH a good communicator, why are you sitting in silence? Are you telepathically communicating to Kody and Janelle that you’re really just asking the 2 of them? Maybe if she COMMUNICATED that to them she wouldn’t have gad to sit there in silence glaring at them. Ironic

Robin is just letting Kody be her mouth piece with the disparaging remarks about Meri. I wouldn't be surprised if Robin said the stuff first with Kody in private. I also wouldn't be surprised if Kody does have a little bit of love or family feelings about Meri but denies it to please his Diesel Jeans, breakdancing wife.
With my best friend, if someone says something bad about her I immediately stand up for her. Doesn't matter if she was there or not.

Robyn was told at an impressionable age that men step out. But if they step out this way it’s okay. Then she herself and certainly her kids were higher maintenance. I would not want the other woman my partner sleeps with and their kids and their grandma’s to parent my kid. I’m sure she could not even coparenting with her ex. It is one thing to violate boundaries of the bedroom. It is another thing to violate boundaries with another’s kid. We saw that with Kody and Meri and Robyn and Leon. Why did Meri not get the first reaction, I know the announcement was together. Meri was like why did they know first. Janelle was like, oh good I thought you were going to say you were sick, I’m so relieved. Which was fine. Her reaction had nothing to do with Meri. But Robyn seemed to be excessively elated and preachy to Meri. Like she was trying to control Meri or seem the hero great communicator they are trying to paint her to be. Meri was not against anything just needed a second to process and I was uncomfortable with the participation from the not Kody people in the room. Meri was not being upsetting to Leon, I could see the others crossing boundaries if that the case. But it was like not only was she having to grasp what her kid told then she also had to absorb what the rest of the room was doing. Rewatched that episode recently. Why does Robyn need to be the center of something with another woman’s adult child? Just like the others don’t start making out with Kody in front of the others (there is that hand superglued to her knee) the other moms should have only spoken to Leon on how they felt and not tried to dominate the room or overshadow the actual mom.
How it must hurt the children, even though they are now adults, to hear their father declare that he never actually loved their mothers. As the years pass Cody’s face and Robins face grow more evil. I thank James for wit, humor and keen insight.

I truly believe what they he feels that they promised to each other is that she would never put him in an uncomfortable position that he didn’t want to be in or that she would never make him own up to the things that he had done wrong and other relationships
