    I actually watched multiple videos, and this is by far the most helpful video to help you navigate. Thanks!

      I totally agree. This is the best Lone Peak video. I am heading up in two days!

    Thank you so much for posting this. It was extremely helpful for the scramble. Saw a lot of people coming up making it harder than it needs to be. Did this hike yesterday. Brought 5L of water and a filter. Drank pretty much all if it. Was a very hot day.

    Thanks for posting! I've been wanting to do this one for a while. It's good to get a sense of what I am up against.

    As an intermediate hiker, do you think I would be able to do the rock scramble? Your video showing the entire scramble is definitely the best representation i've seen thus far

    awesome video I've done lone peak twice the first time my dad and I did it on fathers day when I was 17 two years ago my dad 60 ,my nephew 18 and me 35 made a 3 day backpacking trip it is the scariest but most rewarding and amazing hike I've ever experienced I'm honestly amazed people don't die on that peak the exposure is pretty insane looking down a 1000 ft cliff scrambling up boulders but that view is amazing from the top and I totally agree about the willies but you should take a seat next time and enjoy the view for a few minutes it definitely helps calm those willies great video and impressive time to get to peak

      I agree! It's my favorite hike. (That's also why I didn't stop at at the top - it was around my 15-20th time, and I was just going for time.) As far as I know, only 3 people have died on Lone Peak: 1 from lightning, 1 from a heart attack, and a lady who fell a few years ago - but she was pretty far off the trail, so they're not sure what happened with her. Thanks for your comment!

    How does this compare to pfefferhorn?

    It was challenging physically but was back to the car (and summiting) in 7hrs.

      That's a good pace! Was there any water, or did you need to bring it all? (late August)

      @@moderndaysparta7770 in early June there was plenty. This time of year probably need to carry it

    This is rad. Thank you! Do you think it is possible to ride an e-bike up Jacobs latter, then ditch it when it gets steeper? Not only to shave time off, but to enjoy the spoils of coming down a bit more? That is kind of what I had in mind. Thank you for your efforts!

    • @moderndaysparta7770
      @moderndaysparta7770  3 года назад +1

      If I were looking to shave time, I'd use alternative transportation to get to and from the base of Jacob's ladder. That shaves 4 miles from an 11 mile trip. I wouldn't attempt Jacob's ladder with an e-bike.

    Have you summited The Pfeifferhorn? Is it scarier than the end of Lone Peak? I summited Lone Peak a couple of days ago (my first peak), but the scramble at the end was kind of terrifying for me. I want to summit more peaks, but I'm scared others will be a scary climb like Lone Peak was

    I am confused on where the trail head starts, is there a pin point you have to where to find the beginning of the trailhead to get to jacobs ladder?

    Great video!! Hoping to do this as an overnight trip next summer. Any tips for that? I’m apprehensive to summit but will hopefully be with someone who’s done it before. Thank you for this! :)

      In my opinion, the best place to Camp is in the meadow about a mile after the top of Jacob's Ladder. The tricky part is timing. If you go too early in the year, there may be too much snow to Summit. If you go to late in the year, there is no water available. Late June to Late July is usually good, depending on how much snow there was.

    Me and my buddies are most likely going to do this and camp one night so we can take our time. We’re thinking near June 20th. Would it be too snowy from this winter?

    • @moderndaysparta7770
      @moderndaysparta7770  3 года назад

      It's way too early to tell. Usually, June 20th is pushing it. But maybe this year, you get away with it?

    How much water would you recommend to bring?

    • @moderndaysparta7770
      @moderndaysparta7770  3 года назад +1

      I typically bring 3 liters - but that's cutting it pretty close, so I also bring a water filter just in case. A filter is helpful until all the snow melts (August, usually?) and then there's none available for filtering. To be safe, I'd bring at least a gallon.
