  • We made the summit late fall 2017. A rewarding but very challenging hike. Over 6 miles round trip, with steep trails rock scaling and rock climbing.

Nice video.tnxs.I have to wonder if any pioneer boys, girls crossed the valley and ventured up this old mtn.If so,probably no trails.I hiked the face when younger and crazy.Saw a dead horse which had fallen off the top area.1978-79.And slid down a long snow field.

I remember doing this at 14, 15 ,16 years old. Some scout friends and I made it up in 2 and a half hours, down in 45 minutes. Yes, we pretty much jogged the whole way down. Now I don't think I could make it one third of the way up lol. Ahhh, youth......

Cardiac Hill used to be such a killer it masked how long and steep that hike up through the evergreens really is. That bitch goes on FOREVER. Now, with the switchbacks on Cardiac Hill, I'd call the evergreens the "crux" of the hike. The scramble up the summit isn't a big deal....unless you get off the path. Then you risk getting cliffed out if you're a beginner.

I did that too. When I was young and crazy. It's a steep bitch. They've added switchbacks to Cardiac Hill since I used to do it.

The weird thing I don't remember the rock at the top being anything. That scrambling was incidental. If I made it that high everything else seemed easy. But looking at your video it's obviously a bit nasty.

I think it depends on skill, I’m not much of a rock climber so it seemed a bit scary to me, but I’m sure seasoned climbers would roll their eyes
