She gave a baby an uppercut to the face and she thinks that's ok!?!? On what planet??? She's absolutely disgusting.. She also shook the baby. You'd have to have lived on the moon not to have heard many times that shaking babies kills them! I simply cannot fathom how people who hurt children live with themselves.

My biggest fear. When my now 17 year old was about 6 months old, we chose a babysitter who we felt was perfect. We heard good things about her, our visit to her home showed she was clean, had plenty of toys, and young children of her own. She was also charging much less than our current daycare at the time was. The day came when she was supposed to watch our son and she didn’t answer the door. We assumed she had changed her mind and we recruited family. Fast forward a few months and we learned that the sitter had in fact changed her mind and agreed to watch another baby whose parents paid more. We also learned she shook and killed that child. I’ve never mourned more for a child I never knew. And I had never felt so lucky that it wasn’t ours. We dodged a bullet, but another family lost their son. I had several years of guilt over this. It still gets to me.

As a retired Nanny with over 20 years experience, NOTHING she said in court would EVER be considered ok with how to handle a child, especially someone else's! I absolutely HATE people like her. This is exactly I advocate to any parent who is looking for care to please, PLEASE use cameras in their home. Whether you take your child to someone else's home, or they nanny for you in your home, be upfront about your desire to have cameras. This is beneficial for all parties involved!

Shame on them yelling at the dad that way. She even said that Hanna was there and crying that she didn't want her dad to leave. So he didn't hurt her then. She was coherent awake and fine when dropped off.. And usually a kid doesn't cry for an abusive parent not to leave. She was crying because she was scared of Lindsay.

    • @Jennylouise87
      @Jennylouise87 2 года назад +95

@CimarronWay did you listen to the interrogation? She herself said that when the dad dropped her off , Hanna was crying and didn't want him to go and she yelled at her to stop and shook her. Lindsay admitted that, those were her words. And the Dr's said that a head injury like that would show signs and symptoms(severe ones) immediately. She was fine when he dropped her off other than crying because she was stuck with that monster Lindsay. She even admitted shaking her and slapping her and punching her etc. It was NOT the dad, it was Lindsay, and the jury agreed.

I don't think it'd be worth accidentally executing the innocent, just to get revenge on the guilty. Additionally, life in prison is a much harsher sentence - let them suffer.

I’m 20 years older than you, and I made a decent living but it was still a struggle to pay daycare for my daughter! Daycare was usually more than my rent, car payment and car insurance combined every month. Because I refused to find a cheap place or person to watch my child. Hopefully your children will eventually appreciate the sacrifice you made and never find a cheap place to put you when you are older and vulnerable. I know my daughter understands. I was basically a stepfather to 2 boys for 5 years, while I was with the mother These were Hard To Handle inner city kids who were already difficult at 12 and 14.
I loved them as my own. One time the older one, when he was 17, started throwing punches at me. He thought he was all gangster.
OF COURSE I didn't punch back. I just defended my face. His mom pulled him away.
What he thought was being a b...ch was actually me NEVER being able to punch back at someone that I thought of as my own son.
He had a HORRIFIC life before I met them and I gave him a lot of leeway in that situation.
      He apologized.
He later went to Jobcorps and has done pretty good in life. The younger one went to college.
I gave everything to those 2 boys. Love, books for school, money for food, haircuts, whatever they needed.

Disgusting! Who believes that it's ok to punch a toddler in the face as disipline? This is exactly why I quit my very good job and became a licensed in home child care provider. I didn’t trust anyone with my kids. Including my daughter who was an infant at the time who is autistic. I know that there are good care providers out there. . I did that for 11 years and I loved my job. I had families lined up for an opening. I mainly watched the infants and toddlers who were the children of the teachers at the school down the street, including the grandchild of the principal there. I would line them up and we’d go visit the school taking mochas made with my espresso machine to the parents in a wagon. They all loved it! It was soon after that that I moved way up North and opened my first coffee house. My husband’s cousin had taken over my child care business. It was a win win for everyone.

She was already guilty when she said she believed it was ok to bruise that child, hit her chin with a closed fist and shake her. i mean wth kind of babysitter is this if not a child killer? her defence is nodding her head no during sentencing like she's innocent...wth is wrong is with her? that poor baby was battered blue and purple.

All childminders need to report any injuries on the kids they look after. It's part of their training.

There is no training to be a babysitter. You'd have to work in a daycare for that.

I’ve never been to prison in Ohio. But I have been to prison in Michigan and if the parole process is the same, unfortunately she probably will make parole eventually, if she admits responsibility. That was the most common reason the parole board denied parole, lack of insight/accountability. Hopefully she’s getting some jailhouse justice and the women are making it a long 15 years.

I’m nearly 62, I’m from the last generation habitually subjected to corporal punishment here in the U.K. Even in those dark days no one thought it was ok to give a child an 'uppercut', shake them or do anything to child that wasn’t yours or you were teaching. How did she think any of this was ok? Did she not need a licence and training to be a child minder?
"This is not the first three year old we've not sat staring at pictures of." You've got to give credit people who go through that level of mental trauma to get justice for an innocent child. They will have have children and maybe grandchildren that mean the world to them. I admit I would struggle to do it.

I don’t blame parents who refuse to trust any babysitter with their child, this is my worst nightmare. The fact that this woman is also a mother makes it even worse because I’m sure that detail is what makes parents more likely to trust her with their child since they are also a mother themselves. This is disgusting, infuriating, and devastating.

When we dodged a bullet with a killer babysitter, we chose family and no one ever watched my kids but them again. They’re older now (teenagers) so they no longer need babysitters so to speak. But up until now, you bet your butt they never stayed with a stranger.

By her own comments on the witness stand she is clearly a child abuser. I would have liked to hear from the Dr's who cared for the little girl as to what exactly her main injury was.
Some brain trauma show symptoms right away + the person dies shortly after the injury.
Other injury show symptoms much later + with treatment the person may or may not die.

    • @abebuckingham8198

That lady knew it wasn’t ok to physically discipline that baby girl! She thought admitting that she thought it was ok to physically discipline the child would help her case, but I’m so glad the jury saw through her lies! She knew that wasn’t ok and that’s why she denied it in the beginning when she said she didn’t spank kids and would never touch them. Afternoon Hannah died, she knew she was in big trouble and had to think fast to try to cover her tracks about all the bruising.
What’s crushing is that Hannah didn’t want her Daddy to leave her there that morning and was crying and begging him not to leave. Then, just minutes after he left, she was beaten so severely that she died! It’s heartbreaking.

This is why I'm not financially stable because I decided to make choices to keep my children with me and my mom while I was raising them. Now they are 20, 18, 17, and 16 years old. Now that it's time for me to live my life and work, I'm down with Lupus and in need of a right knee replacement so I struggle with so much. However, my children are alive and will be able to go into this world and make a great life for themselves 🙏

Yo I got a job at a daycare and it was a million times worse than I thought it would be. I left after less than 3 months. The way the women would talk to the kids, toddlers, was not ok. They were very aggressive. It was shocking to me. And it wasn’t some small daycare. I wish I would have went in with a hidden camera. I thought daycares were good for kids in the sense they could be socialized and stay busy, and things like that. When in actuality they got zero one on one attention, it was fend for yourself, and the women were downright cruel in the way they spoke to them, for no reason. And not just one women, almost all of them. Wow.
