still a good question, why did he come to this and I see no other answer than a trigger made him want her to pay, probably resentment for months or years about the little things he couldnt stand anymore having found a new freedom, and the children sadly became a collateral damage, he couldnt let his children know what he had done

That’s why he didn’t divorce Shannon as he’d be paying maintenance for the girls until they were 18 yrs old . He wanted to be free The proof that the girls m.urder was planned was that days before he had measured the opening of the oil tanks to see if they’d fit through the openings . (There were other factors too)
The thought of Bella watching her sister die is just the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever heard.

Yea he did, he killed them the 13th, slept in the house, the 14th, slept in the house.
The 15th is when he was arrested.
Hope he loves that feeling having only 2 days of freedom without them.

He’s alone. And alone is the harshest treatment. They should’ve began his jail sentence by putting him in solitary in complete darkness, naked for three months.
The friend Nicole Atkinson and the neighbor were freaking amazing. That neighbor KNEW. And Nicole fumbled Chris’ plan. Imagine calling police just cuz your friend doesn’t answer her phone. I think Shanann confided in Nicole that she was getting scared of his behavior. And when she missed her appointment and the car was in the garage, she got a bad feeling.

Yes! Shannann had some many dear friends. The friend that dropped her home at 2am, waited for her to get in the door Safely ❤️ yet omgomgomg 💔💔💔💔
She was an incredible friend! She & Shannan had to have been close friends, as Nicole even had her mom's # to reach out.
She missed the appt and the shoes she always wore and the girls wore were in the doorway. Once she saw the cellphone and meds too she knew for sure. She definitely knew her friend well.
She told her about how he wasn't giving her any attention or affection and all he did was work out. I've never heard anything that speaks to him being threatening or abusive aside from the killing.
The fact that he killed his wife and own children, his own flesh and blood and then actually has the audacity to blame his deccessed wife who can't defend herself is far beyond evil.
And all of a sudden, 88 sheep went grazing over the cliff!!
Who knows if those poor babies were really deceased when he put them in the oil tank. 😢

Yes. And she was probably dead within 5 minutes of opening that door. First thing she'd have wanted to do would be to see her girls and CW couldn't let her do that as, quite possibly, he'd already killed them.
All the credit goes to her best friend and the neighbor. They are the true hero’s in this horrific story.
He would've been caught without anyone else reporting.Maybe only a day or two later.Simple,how would she and kids have left the home? SW didn't jump out the window. In hindsight I wish she had,and left to get his attention.

They were in such a financial mess, it would have been the end of his world. A new baby is expensive, he would have had their financial mess to deal with, child support and his own rent and bills because the girlfriend made it plain he couldn't live with her. How ever could he do all that plus afford to travel and do all the things girlfriend wanted to do before they married and she gave him 'his first son'? That was this psychos motivation for killing his pregnant wife and babies. Divorce would have been too hard for such a wuss.

Typically, I wouldn't ever wish anguish on someone, but in this case I'll make an exception. I'm glad he hears his sweet baby girl Bella saying "Daddy, no!", and I hope it tortures his every minute; he deserves it, and much, much more.

You covered her face with her favorite blanket, so she didn't have to watch her murder in her daddy's eyes, but Bella watched you. Finally, when you came for Bella's life, you covered her sweet little face too, but she knew exactly what you were going to do to her because she'd just watched you with CeCe. Bella knew, and Bella begged, "No daddy!", as she fought you all the way, but she was just too tiny to hold on to her life, and you stole it too.
I can't understand this, it's such a disrespectful waste of life. CeCe was the only one who didn't have to watch a murder that morning...I guess that's something to be thankful for. IMO... he killed the girls by giving them doses of percocet(which was always in their home)before Shannan got home.That is why the dogs alerted at the basement around the bins and refrigerator.Shannan coming home late upset his plan and lessened his time frame to properly cover up his murders
Had she been home at the time he expected he would have been able to cover his tracks.Unfortunately i think poor little Bella saw him kill CeCe as he said.He does not deserve to breathe the same air as human beings.He is pure evil even if he "found" Jesus in prison.Still gags me.

He absolutely gave himself away when he turned away from the security footage.Anyone with a missing relative would have had their eyes locked on that screen.Looking for something...anything.
There was no "heated discussion" between Watts and Shannan. Shannan pleaded with him for weeks to talk to her. He is a coward and did not suddenly become open with her. He had no feelings for her or his children whatsoever. He was furious Shannan's plane was late as it delayed his plans to kill her. He waited until she was asleep and strangled her as she did not appear to fight back. Any reference he makes to feelings of compassion or kindness are just words to him nothing more.
The "heated discussion" means "when i killed her."

It's when she found out from her lawyer that she could not take the girls out of Colorado that she started plotting and scheming to get back at him and she was really doing a number on him. and faking it the whole time.
Toward the very end she told her mother-in-law she was never going to see those girls again. And she told the same thing to Chris and it's in a bunch of text messages those last few days to her and different girlfriends. It's all in the discovery so read it. She is the one who is guilty

If I thought my partner snapped and strangled the kids (and I was right there it JUST happened in front of me) I'd try CPR and call the paramedics to resuscitate-- theyve done it on freshly passed people and as a parent I'd hold out hope. When my son was announced to me that he was missing from school.
I felt this heavy thing in my body.
My feet couldn't feel the ground and I was walking in slow motion.
All I remember is that I was walking so fast to get to my car.
But I felt like walking on a threadmiill I was not getting to my car fast enough.
I couldn't cry because I was so afraid. All these awful things happening in my mind and I felt like dying.
I didn't want to cry because I knew I had to drive and I cannot be incapacitated from driving because I want to get to the school. I wished at the moment I had wings so I could fly to my son's rescue.
I was a wreck. That was a real feeling of loss.
Thank God that he was found shortly after.
When they called me that's when I burst into tears.
Because I honestly don't know what will happen to me if I didn't get back my son.
This guy has a smile on his face while announcing him wanted his family back.
That's when I knew he did something to them.
I felt real lost.

My daughter was 2 at the time and next to me at the store, next thing I knew she takes off. I lost it! I screamed her name and ran running off. Found her at the gumball machine. All I could do was grab her and hold her and when we got in the car I started sobbing. This POS was gleeful and smiling and smirking when he gave his interview about his babies. WTF???
Real you would do any fiction writer proud. Describing in detail the physical reactions. Any parent, partner or pal would feel. In those first horrible minutes. When a loved one is unaccounted for. Being gifted or cursed with an imagination that drives you to imagining the very worst. Of what could have happened. In those unguarded seconds.
I had my entire neighborhood out searching for my toddler son. One summer afternoon. Who I figured out latter. Decided to take an unscheduled nap between the clothes dryer and wall.
I'm so glad he's ok. I have one boy and I know the fear. You love him lots.
My son was seven when he went missing after school. I was literally standing at the school's gate waiting for him and I didn't see him passed through the gate. Not until the last few school kids were out the gate and he still wasn't there that I started hyperventilating but I wasn't crying or hysterical. I felt deathly calm but my soul have left my body, I was walking around in a daze, looking through every classrooms and checking all the toilets. I asked the security guards to help me look for my son. I was near collapsing and decided to call my husband and inform the police. All I can say is, it was an out of body experience for me, it was as if someone else was telling me what to do, to tell me to stay calm, when all I wanted to do was cry and be useless.

I know. If you watch the 8 part series "Unmasking Nicol Kessinger." It is obvious that she is a narcissistic person who had her sights on Chris immediately. Many affair partners enter playing "the friendship card." We like to think that all cheaters are the aggressors but that is 100% not true. Watch anything about male or female narcissists and you see that they not only cheat, it is incredible "supply" to them to poach a mate. If you watch that Unmasking series ... you see how she claims she didn't know Shanann's name until "like a week ago." But when they took her computer, searches of Shanann Watts (spelled correctly and everything) went back months. And as we know, Shanann's posts were public ... Shanann showed no separation. She posted about her pregnancy INCLUDING the announcement that it's a boy. And what did Nicole do? She told Chris that she wants to give him his first son. That's messed up.
If you think the authorities didn't look at her closely, give your head a shake. Obviously they found there was nothing connecting her to the crimes, and thus no charges were ever laid or even considered.

Nate said that when Shannon wasn’t around for weeks he thought Chris had done something to her ( She was at her in laws and then her parents house) Why would Nate think that unless he heard Chris threatening Shannon. Maybe he hit her too?
But why did the authorities silence Nate? He retracted everything he said. Apparently Nate’s mother has written a book about being the Watts’s neighbour
Also the girls must have heard their father shout at their mother and all the arguments . One other neighbour said the girls were very quiet when with their father and not like children normally behave eg chatty , lively etc

He had the entire 1 hour drive to the site to rethink his decisions. He still went and killed her children too. This case still baffles me to this day. Like everyone was saying, he underestimated how much Shannan and her babies were loved.
And then he stuffed them through an 8" hole in separate oil tanks. He didn't want any of them to be together, that's how much he couldn't stand them! If you measure out 8 inches, it becomes more infathanable that a person could commit such crime and what evil he has running through him. Disgusting

I used to think Chris Watts had the most poorly planned out murders until I recently heard about Chandler Halderson, who killed his parents. That Chapter did a really good video on that sad case. Yes, they were worth so much more than to be snuffed out like that. It breaks my heart about Bella and CeCe and Shan'ann, they had so much to live for and so much to give. Their murders have left such a huge hole in her parent's and brother's life as well as all her friends and the children's friends. And now we all grieve their loss and mourn this beautiful woman and her precious babies. May they rest in peace.

It was a 45 minute drive to the dump site and those sweet babies had to sit there with the corpse of their mother! Imagine the terror Bella felt! CeCe was still too little to know- she had just turned 3 years old the month before!

In the event he does fit the bill for NPD, it does become a bit clearer.
They tend to overestimated their own intelligence or 'specialness' and underestimate the intelligence and capabilities of other people. They tend to be overly positive about getting what they want because why wouldn't they get what they want? They're special.
Their brains are quite uniquely geared towards absolving themselves of any wrong doing while simultaneously finding others guilty for their own poor or criminal behaviour. I don't think he feels bad about his children in the same way a more 'normal' person would...I mean, the fact that he hasn't attempted to kill himself is, to me, astounding. Those images, sounds, memories...would haunt most people to the point that living would become intolerable.

He said time stood still like it took forever like 5-6 minutes. That’s worse. It means that he had extra time to stop and he didn’t. His daughter even tried to stop him by telling him “No, daddy” and he did exactly nothing to stop himself. He wanted a new life without responsibility of divorce or child support but he should of thought about that before and being passive or the quiet one and blaming your wife for “wearing the pants in the family” is no excuse. You made a vow when you got married so deal with the consequences the right way.

Also their time of death is marked as 3:40 and 5:50 pm, which Shannans is 5am. He didn't drive out there in the middle of the day, he did in the morning. I think he told the truth about smothering them with their blankies but I don't think they where dead, probably just unconscious... It makes me sick to think about that..

That TOD was either incorrect or based on the time they were found. Although its possible they were alive when they went into the tanks they would have had more injuries from being shoved into the small opening. Oil can diffuse into the body

Thanks to the neighbor. Who knows if it could have been cleared up so quickly without him and his recordings. Likewise Shanann's worried friend Nicole. In my heart I will always be grateful to both of them🙏
Actually, the neighbor's video was inconclusive. The polygraph examination actually broke the case wide open.
They'd still have found the bodies absent his confession. They always investigate the spouse/parent in a missing person's case

This was well thought out. You don't just come up with "I'm going to dump the kids in the oil tanks I work at" between 2 AM and 5 AM in the morning. He's told several different stories about the girls. One to LE before his court date where he formally entered his guilty plea, and one afterwards when they went to Wisconsin to see him, and one to Cherlyn Cadle, who met with him and wrote the book "Letters from Christopher". This guy knew he didn't want his family. He knew he was going to kill those little girls and kill his wife. No marks on him anywhere and he strangled her. He took her by surprise in her sleep.
I think she would've gone in their rooms to check on and kiss the girls as soon as she got home. So I do think he killed them after he killed her. But I believe he killed them at home in their beds rather than deal with the moods, fears, or needs of 2 little girls while he's wrapping up their mother's body, dragging it down the stairs, and talking to them the whole time? Answering them? It seems like being so young they would have been upset and maybe crying. He's right where he belongs.
