Police bodycam footage in Chronological order the day Chris Watts' family were reported missing

- See below for timeline details.
This is most of the police bodycam footage that Chris Watts appears in (and some additional footage) the day Shannann, Bella and Celeste Watts were reported missing, August 13th, 2018. Footage is in chronological order from morning to afternoon. The footage from this day alone (before Watts eventually admitted he killed his family) you can see signs that something is off with the story Watts was telling the police. Some points of interest/suspicion I listed in the timeline of the video and below:
Beginning:
Nikole Atkinson, Shanann Watts' friend, calls police after she can't get in contact with her and thinks something isn't right. Police become aware of the matter, walking the perimeter of the house and wait for Chris to get home.
Chris arrives 17:42
Chris gets home from work. (we now know he was discarding Shanann, Bella and Celeste's dead bodies at the oil site just hours earlier).
Phone 22:54
Shanan's phone is found in the house.
Wedding Ring 34:40
Chris shows a police officer Shanann's wedding ring, claiming she left it there (we now know he took it off her corpse and was hoping to play it off as she left it herself).
Surveillance 45:00
Chris' neighbor shows a police officer surveillance footage from the early hours of the morning of Chris pulling his truck back into his garage. No sign of Shanann or the kids leaving the house was on the footage. (we now know this is when he was loading up the dead bodies of his family, before discarding them at the oil site).
Medication 1:22:43
Nikole Atkinson finds Shanann's medication is her bag, which like her phone, and the bag itself, is not something she would leave the house without.
Bedroom 1:49:40
A police officer finds it suspicious that a bed sheet is missing from their bed. (which we now know Chris wrapped her up in before burying her in a shallow grave.
Chris 2:04:23
More interaction with Chris and officers.

People may say the friend is nosy but to me that's what you call a real friend
Pink Kitty I would only hope my friend would be the same exact way!
Pink Kitty You're so right ! She was feeling deeply that Shit Watts was involved in her missing and she persuaded the cops to begin the search immediately, that would lead to Shit Watts's arrest. I wish I had such a devoted friend !
It's nothing like a real bestfriend I have one just like her
My friend is just like her! We tell our best friend everything...so she had a gut feeling that monster did something.
Dude in the red shirt following the cop around is creepy
Just get a divorce and live with the consequences. I don't understand murdering your family because you want a new life. It is disgusting.
I couldn’t have said that better!
Yes- it's insane.
EXACTLY!! It's just unbelievable how someone could think like that.. MUCH LESS go through with it!!! To KILL them.. his precious, beautiful children!!!
SICKENING & him walking around like he's eating breakfast or something so calm & nonchalant! Those officers knew it was not normal behavior too!!!
His sickening a$$ was probably thinking if they divorced- he'd have to pay child support.. sickening, twisted bastard!!
Wow 😪
He got just that, In prison
The kids would’ve cramped his style & she would’ve gotten everything because he admitted to adultery. What’s not to understand? He saw no other way.
Her friend Nicole solved this whole case just by showing up in the morning. God knows what would have happened if she didn’t. God bless her
A woman’s intuition is like none other
thank God she wasn't alone with Chris when he came home from work too.
The whole thing would have played out more or less the same way, with a couple hours delay.
@@brian8156 I think Shanann was confiding in NA that Chris was being elusive and not caring about her or the kids.
This case was already going to get immediately solved. The GPS on Chris's truck would've led investigators to Shannan's body at the well
Someone commented, “An innocent worried person has a whole lot of questions. A guilty person has a whole lot of answers…” So true, I’ve never forgotten that comment. Very insightful! Chris goes into an explanation for every little thing. He doesn’t look worried at all. And you can’t fake worry in front of trained officers, even her friend and neighbor saw through his coldness!
He waits for questions too. He's so silent. Dead give away. The cop must've been laser eyeing him the whole time.
He keeps mentioning about his water jug and his lunch box and all that unnecessary stuff!
❤
The fear comes the surveillance is shown
My husband would have told the cops to kick the door down the second he was notified of us missing! We've been together & married since 1989 & would die & kill for each other & he would be a complete basket case & so would I if he vanished with the kids😢chris acted like they totally inconvenienced him & he didn't have time for thier nonsense 😢
He literally just finished killing them & got rid of there bodies & a couple hours later the police are at his home making a case. Thank god for shanann's friend
I wonder were the dog was at this first movie 😓 Beacuse in another investigation movie its there. Did NK watch the dog? 😕
Goes to show how much Shanann depended on her phone and social media. Many people take forever to text back sometimes, myself included. Sometimes I’ll get a text like “Where are you?” and I won’t respond for hours.
You animal worshipping folks know nothing! I suppose you think when you're mutt licks your face it's a sign of affection?
He was NOT EXPECTING THAT!!!!!! No killer expects police on his door 2 hours after the murder. He would have been shocked. The horrible look he gave the lady friend.... Like 'this interfering b*tch'.... 😬😬😬😬
he was actually viewing a new house before he came back to meet nicole and the cop
The moment her friend saw the phone in the house SHE KNEW.

@@Jukelikesgames a youtuber called Derek Van Scheik did a fantastic video on this body cam footage, showing everything shady Chris did. You may not realize them if you watch this, but if you watch his video it becomes clear Chris is lying and trying to tell pointless points to make the officer and others think he isn't nervous. Just watch him when he's watching the surveillance cam footage, he is literally watching himself unloading his wife's and daughters bodies to the truck and driving off. Scary, horrific stuff
He is absolutely losing it in the neighbour’s house.
I don't know if we'll ever get better footage of a man absolutely shitting bricks. The way he knocked his sunglasses down, the way he can't look at the screen, the way he's stuttering, the gallons of sweat coming out of his body.... This man is shook
@@munstify indeed. Good observations.
@@munstifyhow does anyone know how Chris would act in a certain situation? As far as liars go, Nikole flat out lied when she says she didn't know the code. She says in her interview she knew it bc she took care of the dog while they were in NC. How did she know her car was in the garage? There's no windows. Chris had a hit on his phone that the garage door opened at 10ish. Obviously that was Nikole. That's how she knew the car was in there and the car seats were too. As for the placement of things, she could have moved them. Watch her and her son when they walk in the house. Neither yelled for her. Why is that? Her "favorite shoes" were by the door. So one would assume she's there. But they didn't assume. They already knew. They took a bee line to the kitchen.
Y'all will tear this comment up. I'm not saying Chris is innocent. I'm saying Nikole knows more than she's telling. Rip it up, sheep!

Yep, he's way too calm. A normal reaction would be frantic. I've had an immediate family member go missing one time and I was absolutely going crazy. Luckily, we found them and they were ok, but I was getting physically sick with worry. This loser acts like there's hardly anything wrong

Besides Nicole, there were about 6 other of her friends talking to each other all worried sick. Shannan was always trying to motivate and encourage everyone.
Oh God me too!
Nicole Atkinson and neighbor Nate are pretty awesome. But if Nicole hadn't come over so promptly Nate might've erased the tape for the next night.
Esther, yeah she was a driving force with her friends and family. That's why I believe he must've shown her the girls bodies for her to give up and not fight being strangled. She was an inspiration.
You can tell that Chris is annoyed with Nicole the ENTIRE TIME she is there with them, answering the police questions etc. GOOD. I’m so glad that she was there to torment him on behalf of his murdered family.
The fact he's able to act emotionless and normal knowing what he had done hours before shows how extremely evil he really is 😢
True! Did you noticed his face when the police officer was calling to cancel the ambulance or paramedics? He freaked out! And the way he keeps looking at Nikole every time she will question something… he’s like “girl why did ruin my master plan?”
@zulmacarpenter1672 do you have a time stamp for the paramedic part?
He's not acting normal so much as trying to act normal. It's his attempt at acting normal that kind of hurt him, because a real, loving family man would be freaking out or taking a more active role in helping the investigation.
He didn’t get one second to enjoy his new life and I think that gives us all satisfaction.

The neighbor who let the viewing of the CCTV camera is extremely observant, he has a real gut feeling that things don't add up and he is absolutely right. This is a good neighbor very protective and honest. Both Nicole and him are admirable.
Wow! I can’t believe you guys don’t see the little girl in the room. She’s a ghost. But caught a few times on police footage. The room where the heavyset female enters a few times. She has a pink tutu. Possibly that’s what she was wearing when he killed her.

The angle of the body cam footage at times shows that the officer is likely just staring at Chris in silence for long periods of time, probably in utter shock and disbelief in what he’s seeing. It’s astonishing to watch.

+A S I was struck by that irony too. He kills his wife and precious little girls -- and lets the dog live. And if he'd gotten away with it, he probably would've taken Dieter to his new life with his girlfriend. Smh
Romans 8:28 yea it’s super weird but ig it’s common for killers to have more regard for their pets and animals lives in general than their own families
@@haleyt9717 I care more for animals then people to. And I aint a killer. And BTW your answer is not correct most killers are actually starting at a young age already with torture animals.
Piet Henk I never said if you care more about animals than humans you’re a killer I said that it’s known that family annihilators tend to care more about animals than their families which is a fact even investigators talk about it in multiple cases maybe do some research before talking out of your ass kiddo
I would be running into the house yelling their names and having a nervous breakdown yet this dude rolls up like he's going to a barbecue.
You do realize people cope differently right? Some people laugh
@melly mel uh no? People comply cope differently
Lol a barbecue , but your right he pulled up so nonchalant
@@Mariomario-gt4oy 🤐
He did give tail gate vibes when he jumped out like he forgot his cooler or somethin just so nonchalant
His hands on his head when he sees the cam footage, he knows he's toast right there.
It’s immediately apparent that he’s guilty. Any loving father/husband would be frantic and tearing the house apart to find them. This dude is chuckling and annoyed/bored with the process. They should’ve just put the handcuffs on after the phone discovery.
Look how her friend is almost hysterical trying to find her and Chris is cool as a cucumber.
They didn’t even speak when he first pulled up to the house. And why did he run up the driveway to greet the officer?
Not cool, NERVOUS!!!!!
What do you expect from the murderer?
@@braylonfuqua1192 thought the same thing
Glad you noticed his BEHAVIOR. That is so sad how can you kill your family and pretend to look for them knowing damn well what you did
Nicole is such a quick thinker! She knew her passcode was the baby's due date right off the bat.
nona petrosyan she was on the phone to Shan’anns Mother at the time that recalled the new passcode that Cunty Chrissy didn’t know. I say he was disgusted to realise she had only changed it recently as I’m sure his plan was to send messages from her phone pretending to be her. He admitted to forgetting the phone and to take it with him with all the commotion of murdering his family 😓🤬 P O S
she said right before that she didnt know the passcode, it was whoever she was on the phone to that knew
gore no need to call her stupid, it was an easy mistake.!

@@irishdeetalks You're so right! Shan'ann foiled his plan without even knowing it.
The dog tried to tell the officers that he saw the whole thing go down, poor fella
The officer asks better questions than the detective
He was casing the place taking everything in .
He had to leave the force after this case after a long career due to PTSD . I just saw a you tube video someone had done on him today. It's really heartbreaking actually. He has triggers when he sees little girls around Bella and Celeste age. He was there when they pulled the girls out of the oil batteries. I don't think he's been right since. I don't think any of them have to be honest. It's not a job that I could do.

Damn. The way the neighbor is staring down Chris as they’re watching the surveillance footage gives me chills. He knew right away Chris had something to do with their disappearance.
Absolutely. I thought he was hiding something from his public plea. But when I saw the video of him in his neighbors house…..I knew.
When Chris puts his hands on his head as they are watching it he is probably thinking oh crap, it's over. He is internally probably about to explode at that point. I can handle watching just about anything but watching this has me squirming all over the place and it is almost unbearable.
I’ve noticed. I’m glad Nicole and the neighbor both were hinting the cop that Chris was up to no good.
I saw that as well!
@@lindsaygarcia5212me too…i got anxiety watching this!
Less than 12 or 13 hours earlier he slaughtered his family… and he shows absolutely no emotion at all, except maybe for fear of being caught
That infamous commercial still blows my mind. It shows exactly what happened to his family.
The friend knew immediately. She couldnt even stand next to him or look at him and was constantly correcting him
ngee00 Absolutely! Did you see her giving him looks?
At 2:30 when the officer asks for Chris, neighbor says he’s “supposedly” coming but he said that 30 minutes ago and now says 45. Neighbor knew.
Neighbor’s son knew too because he was trying to convince the cop to break into the house. Kid is smart. If he was a cop he’d probably pull the old “I heard somebody scream ‘help’” and break in.
Because she knew about their problems
Best friends are called best friends for a reason. Even though It was Chris wife in the story. Chris under estimated his wifes loyalty to her true friend. And that true friend was not him.

No his neighbor is a man Chris only fights pregnant women and 3 an 4 yr old little girls
Angie Weston he’s talking about Shanann’s friend Nikole, not the neighbor Nate. But I agree with the rest of what you said! He’s a coward who only kills pregnant woman and little girls who are defenseless 😥
Nate and Nicole were causing him problems
Chris is a coward. He said it himself. He wouldn't even look them in the eye at the house.
IR CH nah he wouldn’t have been able to pick her up

1:00:00. That neighbor guy, with the backwards baseball cap, is sharp as shit.
he needs to be a detective himself, he was spot on
This is a haunting case. Shannan made a beautiful home for her family. She had beautiful children, with one on the way and what she thought was a loving husband. It still sickens me how that monster disposed of them, especially the little girls. RIP to all of them. There is a special place in hell for Chris Watts.
"She made a beautiful home" by lumbering family with debt.
This is a smart cop.
He kept quiet when he needed to and kept his thoughts to himself, you never know what might trigger a Monster.
Dead silence is a strategic move.
The entire time from the beginning you know he had to be thinking in his head “her husband definitely killed her” there’d be no reason for all the stories, him not wanting to show up, etc. unless he didn’t.
Yeah the cops were great, and the FBI interrogators were incredible. Amazing job all around. They didn’t pressure him too hard so he didn’t think he had to lawyer up.
And did anyone else notice Chris went to look at the car first before he went inside??
@@ryanmccarthy7858 Yeah I wonder what he was doing there. Was he trying to stall? Did he think that was a realistic way to feign concern? Did he think there was evidence of his crimes he'd left behind in the car?

I don't know why I'm watching this because it's horribly depressing. But while watching it I just I just cannot believe how this man can lie. every breath is a new story and he can still speak with a straight face.
Even the dog gave the signs . Dog is distress jeez
He can't even look the cop in the eyes. His body language was screaming guilty.
The cop already new he was guilty by his body language and how he was acting the cop was doing things to make him slip up

The officer is train to notice that kind thing.
@travisbirch7815 you're absolutely right. I saw another video where they broke down the first sweep of the house with the patrolman and the neighbors and at one point the cop backs up into the corner of the room and talks into his walkie. Chris immediately turns his face to the cop with the biggest "oh shit" look on his face. This would later be pointed out that the cop did that on purpose to gauge chris' reaction and it worked.

Still the single best example of what a true friend and concerned woman is. Nicole was the reason this man was caught so soon, or at all!
There's no possible scenario where he doesn't get caught.
@@EddieDubs he could have easily blown the tanks up and the bodies and everything around its radius would have basically been cremated. I think that was his plan, it was to stick the bodies in the tanks and Shannan near them and blow it up, which is why police found gas containers in his truck. A similar explosion happened with Anadarko a year or so before his family was murdered. All he needed was for Nikki to not show up at his house when she did. Then he would have had time to come back home to get rid of her belongings at the house, throw those in the tank too, and set the tanks up to explode. Nikki foiled any plan of his to set up the house to even remotely look like she left on her own.
I agree,I keep coming back and watching it over and over again
