  • Here are many example equations, so you can get lots of practice classifying them into the major types of chemical equations. In the video, we'll look at examples of synthesis, decomposition, combustion, single replacement and double replacement. The last two reactions are sometimes referred to as single displacement and double displacement.

Thank you very much for how well you present the topics in Chem. You have a natural talent and gift in teaching. I just notice a minor flaw in the generic representation of Double Replacement; shouldn't it be: AB + CD yields AD + CB ?, since (A is pos. ion and D is neg. ion) and (C is pos. ion and B is neg. ion); thus, having a consistent order of sequence.

I just want you to know, like the rest of the people here that have commented, you have seriously helped me out A LOT. You break chemistry down into pure layman's terms and make it so simple to understand. You also get so hype about the topic, it's a lot much more entertaining than listening to my instructor's lectures where she sounds like she's falling asleep herself!

I am a Chemistry teacher. And I think I do a pretty good job--my students seem to have fun, and they generally make good progress. But I wish I was *half* as good at explaining some things as Tyler is. Some of our best classes, I run one of his videos, stopping at certain points to elaborate on some things, and mention a few things I think he may have omitted. Between us, we do a pretty good job of tag-team teaching Chemistry!
