The reason this guy is so good is because he does not assume you know anything before the lesson. Most teachers assume students have prior knowledge on topics and that all kids are the same. This leads to kids no understanding how a teacher did a certain step when teaching. This eventually leads to a snowballing effect, as without that step the rest of the problem does not make sense. I really cant thank you enough for these videos as they have helped me a ton. I'm here studying before my chem final and I know I am more prepared after watching these videos.

Tyler Dewitt should get a Nobel peace prize for doing this fantastic public service. This is without doubt, the very best set of chemistry lessons, with the "most effective method", and with the simplest tools imaginable, just a piece of white paper, a marker, and infinite patience of someone who understands, and empathizes with struggling students. I'm ecstatic after many years of endless frustration trying to teach myself chemistry. It's been driving me bonkers. Tyler has broken through the barriers that plagued me. It's just a matter of pride for me to become fluent in all sciences, and Tyler has opened the doors to success for millions like me. It's his manner, his slow methodical calm demeanor, and repetition, without getting cocky running all over as if everyone gets it the first or second, or third time the way the instructor does. That's just not reality. Many great scientists, had to take years of chemistry, and repeat courses numerous times to meet the standard of their degree. It doesn't matter as much how difficult it is, or how long it takes you to get it, as long as you get it, before you hope for your degree. Thanks Tyler, you should get the Nobel, or at least chemistry teacher of the decade. For you young punks who want a hot girlfriend, a nice house, and a Beemer, $$$ Better pay attention.

My professor also had a PhD and studied at MIT and he was one of the WORST teachers I've had (I'm not joking...). That comes to show that no matter how much academic preparation you have, teaching is something that not everybody knows how to do. This guy right here is one of the best at what he does, without a doubt.

I truly hope you see this comment and all these other wonderful comments you completely deserve. You teach, with extreme enthusiasm and passion, a subject that is exceedingly stressful to a lot of people; One in which can even stand in the way of a lot of peoples dreams. You help build the bridge where these people can not only pass but sincerely learn the "how and why's" of the chemistry world. I'm sure you understand how much you help people of all backgrounds, but I just want to reiterate that, just incase someone hasn't told you in a while. Everything from Gen Ed, to people like me who are doing a career change into an entirely different world, from criminal justice to science (cop to nurse) are being helped and guided by the likes of you...and for me personally, not only are you videos helpful, they are fun to watch due to them being full of life and passion, not soulless and regurgitated. So, thank you. Truly.

Just wanna say another way to find the limiting reactant. Find the number moles for both of the compounds, then divide their moles by their coefficient, then the lowest is the limiting reactant.

Although this guy has a good way of explaining things, that doesn't mean your teacher/prof is bad at teaching. There's other factors at play here, you got to think about the fact that 1. when you watch a video on your own time with the willingness to learn because of the pressures of an upcoming exam you might actually pick up on concepts easier because more of your undivided attention is on the screen 2. You can pause and re watch parts that you didn't understand at your own pace 3. Watching a video alone in your room at home poses a lot less distractions than being in a classroom with other students. Id say people should really re consider calling their professors garbage and terrible at teaching because like I mentioned before there are a lot of other factors at play here regarding the success of learning new concepts when learning things on RUclips. Maybe we should re-consider how learning at public institutions is run rather than blaming the professors for teaching badly.
