First ! Just had to do it 😁 The Opportunity is rare ! Interesting Song 😎 A vid shot in black/ white is always atmospheric. Some Sepia use of colour would of added and created a more nostalgic feel especially during the woodland scene 😀
One of my top five national songs and I'm a massive fan of theirs. To really appreciate the national you have to see them live, yes that sounds like a cliche but it's really true. The energy picks up and some of the muddy sounding production from the studio versions is replaced by clear crisp and powerful live sounds Regardless graceless is an awesome song either way
The singer from The National always sounds tired or high, like it's such an effort to move his mouth and form words. Maybe getting carried to Ohio in a swarm of bees did it to him.
For me it's about faith crisis, when you feel that you believe in god but god don't believe in you, and you need some kind of sign but there's none, so you get depressed and you feel that you need to learn to live that way...graceless
This is my interpretation of the song too, the lyrics and delivery are thoughts of someone hopeful and desperate at the same time. Similar theme to Thoughts of a dying atheist by Muse only this song is more hopeful lol
This album, Trouble Will Find Me, is a masterpiece.
This is one of the less known songs from that, and it's still beautiful. They go for quantity and quality
I respect how you take notes & really listen to a song, without constantly pausing it like alot of reaction vids. Nice work!
One of the last concerts I saw before the pandemic ❤️
Oh oh oh I love this one. ❤️

For some reason the music is reminding me of the Cure.

They look like a band of high school substitute teachers lol
But they are, in fact, incredible musicians.
