If you ever get the opportunity to come to North America and want to experience some great hockey you should visit Minnesota and experience a high school hockey game, ideally the High School state tournament. Its electric. It would also be worth your time to experience a NCAA D1 college game, USHL (junior) hockey game, CHL game (Canadian Juniors), AHL game and an NHL game. Could do a fun little road trip from St Paul Mn to Toronto! Watching along the way! If you want to truly experience hockey culture Minnesota and Canada are going to give you that experience! Michigan, Wisconsin, New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts would all be fun too!
I currently play in the MHL in the US ( Mountain Hockey League ) and it’s a lot of fun. I’m every game there’s at least 1-2 fights and it’s really physical. The broadcasting isn’t the greatest depending on which team it is but it’s fun to play and watch. It’s a lot of former AHL, ECHL, FPHL etc and European Pro guys. I’m currently trying to come over to Europe and play a couple seasons.
OUR ICE HOCKEY, IS SAME AS OUR FOOTBALL....WHEN SPARTA PLAY slavia IT IS LIKE CELTIC VS RANGERS but in ice hockey, basketball the same, we even kick the shit out of one another at swimmign meets sometimes as well as skiing , handball, water polo the list is endless. and oh they do the same in the Balkand too ( croatia , serbia)
Great video Vic! You're really passionate!👍 Of course there is a "big" difference between the "Amateur" European Ice Hockey governed by the IIHF compared to the Proffesionell money driven NHL! The Countries/Leagues of Europe are more driven under IIHF rules even if every Country can have small differences. Like soccer/Football in Europe the leagues mostly have a relegation/promotion of teams up/down in every country! FINLAND also have had a closed league, foe some years! KHL have been intresting but since the resent war vs Ukraine, the Russian Hockey is in trouble! Anyway, big subject but fun & interesting! Keep it up, Victoria!🏒👍
Like yourself, I'm a Scottish hockey fan. Personally I much prefer the NHL's faster pace. I've been to a few Edinburgh Capitals/Murrayfield Racers games over the years, the slower pace just isnt for me.
At first European players may struggle with the smaller ice but after a short period almost all European players come to prefer the smaller ice surface. With the larger ice you're always further away from the net and there's way more perimeter/passive play almost like soccer.
Hoping you're okay. Big trade working itself out tonight. Auston and Mitchie can't buy one out there so far. Curious, your thoughts on the trade and Cup contention.
I guess when you’re a Dundee Stars fan then you’re used to being disappointed and a sluggish pace of play sitting rock bottom of the EIHL, I don’t blame you for preferring NHL, gives you a reason to support a team more than the Stars. 😂 Let’s Go Panthers ⬛️🟨
European hockey is not more skilled than the NHL. They just have more time to make player. Rink size and lack of rough play and players not being as fast give them the time. But by far and away, NHL players including the Europeans playing in the NHL are the most skillful players in the world. NHL had more skill. Europeans claiming their lagues are just coping.
I believe what she is saying and what many others say is that European hockey is more skills based/skills focused, more of a finesse game. Where NA hockey definitely is more physical and IMHO a more complete game. I don't think she is saying that the Euro pro leagues are more skilled than the NHL.

I like watching a NHL game or two, but the SHL is right for me :)
Love it! Well done!

So that's why some of the best players in the NHL is European players?
@@weybye91 LOL. North America has the better players.
