That AD and Damian over Dwight thing really blows my mind, considering that AD never have carried a team on his own to reach a single final or even a conference final. Actually, Dwight deserves the top 50 instead of top 75.

But only 1 DPOY behind them is Dwight, with an average of 20(+) points in his carreer. You can remove the argument of "all defense, no offense" and still didn't make it. I also think Tony Parker belongs on the list...Nash never even made it to the finals, he also didn't deserve those 2 MVP...Mike D's system makes every PG look like a legend:...Linsanity, Nash, Harden...it's just a huge assist boost over other systems...but this system won't work in the playoffs...we've seen it again and again....

Reggie Miller imo was part of the beginning of "spreading the floor" that Dirk solidified. There was no doubt that, with Michael out of the way, Indiana flourished because of this. You had to watch those outlet passes to him. And he had SUCH manic energy. He was firing on all cylinders the moment he came near the arena, never mind the parquet floor.
Bob McAdoo was easy money too with his 10-12 footers, even at the end of his career with the Lakers. Look at some of their old tapes and you'll see him firing the shot from 50 feet in the air. A guaranteed swoosh. He was another favorite.
And if Giannis keeps on this career upward trajectory, this guy will own the NBA. His championship run was incredible. I was disappointed for Chris Paul, as I'd like him to get a ring (Devin Booker will get his, don't worry). But Giannis, man...just incredible.

KG, Allen & Truth weren’t the first “Big 3” formed, they just were the first time modern NBA players got to choose where they wanted to play with the stars to align just right to make such a move possible. Garnett had the highest profile of the 3, but wasn’t the megastar the way LeBron or Durant were when they moved to form “superteams”. And though they made the Finals twice in their peak, the Celtics still had to deal with Kobe’s revamped Lakers, and LeBron & Dwight Howard coming into their own primes. I think we all wanted another Lakers-Celtics Finals trilogy from 2008-10, but it’s hard to say that those guys underachieved.

Thanks for letting us know you weren't watching basketball back then. In the 2008-2009 season, after Boston won 66 games (ended the Rockets 22 game win streak that season) and a championship, they started the season 27-2 with a 19 game win streak. In February, Kevin Garnett, the defensive anchor, top 2 player on the team, and the reason why Boston was amazing defensively got a season ending injury in a game at Utah. Despite this, Boston managed to adjust and still finish the season with 62 wins. In the playoffs, Boston were up 3-2 on Orlando. They couldn't seal the deal without KG and lost.
In the 2009-10 season, KG returned a shell of himself. He was very skinny and didn't play like he did before the injury. During this season, Doc Rivers implemented a plan to rest his starters for the playoffs. The Celtics ended up as a 4th seed. Boston beat Cleveland, who had been the #1 seed 2 years in a row. This just proved that had KG not been injured, they would have beat Cleveland the prior year because Orlando had beat them. They had a rematch with Orlando. This time KG was back, Boston went up 3-0 then sealed the deal in 6. In the finals, Boston took a 3-2 lead against the Lakers. In game 6, Perkins had a season ending injury. If you watched basketball back then, then you'd know how much of a problem Perkins was at controlling the boards and paint. With Perkins gone, Boston got killed on the boards and paint, which led to them losing.
Like Doc said, the starting lineup of Rondo, Ray, Pierce, KG, and Perkins have never lost a playoff series on the floor together. It was always an injury that prevented them from winning another champion. Anyone who watched basketball back then wouldn't criticize them. Only the ignorant people who started watching basketball after 2010. That same Lakers team got beat down by the Mavs the next year, btw.
Also, Ray, KG, and Pierce didn't form a 3 big. Danny Ainge traded for Ray and KG during the draft and summer to build a championship team. Big difference from LeBron running to Miami because he couldn't beat the Celtics to form a big 3 with Wade and Bosh. And it was stated by LeBron that they planned this.

@@ezypeazyy No way. T-Mac was beautiful to watch but we're talking about ACHIEVEMENTS not highlights. TP has 4 rings, 1 final MVP, and despite his collective success that diluted his stats he was still 4 times in the top 10 MVP votes and in all-NBA teams. As for Pau, he wasn't flashy but very versatile and the perfect lieutenant for Kobe. They both played about 300 games more than T-Mac in the regular season and in the playoffs it's not even comparable: McGrady played in 50 games (and lost 31), Gasol played in 136 games (won 70) and Parker in 226 games (won 137). I agree T-Mac is more fun to watch but it's not what it's about.
As for Alex English, like Damian Lillard or others, he was a big scorer who didn't win. To me it's not as valuable as winners.
Well I don't want my message to be misunderstood: I put Howard, Parker and Gasol above the 3 you name but they're not that far behind, it's not like one or the other is absolute bullcrap. But for this ceremony Parker & Gasol & Howard were clearly ahead of them, as far as achievements and longevity go. I mean, playing FOUR TIMES more playoffs games than the player you're compared to is quite a significant margin.
