    Dwight Howard is a 1x NBA champion, 8x all-star, 8x All-Nba, 5x All-Defense, 3x DPOTY, 5x rebounding champ player. When you've got guys like Bill Walton, Reggie Miller, and Damian Lillard on the list Dwight HAS to make it. Easily the biggest snub

    I take Dwight's first 10 years in the NBA over Anthony Davis best years. Aside from the DPOY and everything else, people forget that Dwight only missed 5 games in his first 9 years. Dwight took his teams further than AD with a lesser team. Its funny....

      I don’t know about a lesser team that was a team full of shooters with Dwight they never gave AD THAT BUT Dwight does deserve the list but ad is also a no brainer he’s gonna get another ring he’s gonna probably get a mvp if he can ever stay healthy a whole season but his numbers and that championship put him on the list based of trajectory for me dame is the same thought process only I don’t see him wining where he is so I wouldn’t project him any better without those accomplishments so dame off the list also I been saying it imma keep saying it steve Nash does not belong on this list

      Facts, Dame was never a top tier player and never got his team even close to the finals. Plus he doesn't play D, it's for his game winners in the playoffs and he stayed with Portland longer than he should have.
      They reward him for staying "loyal" to his home team but wasting his career in being a 5th to 6th seed in the west

    Anthony Davis did not deserve it over Dwight by no means. Dwight was far more dominant than AD period for a five year stretch and still really good for another three years stop it

      AD has put up better numbers and has the accolades as well as a championship. I’m sorry but I won’t pretend that Dwight was the guy you make him out to be while he only averaged 20 ppg like 3 times in the “dead big man era”. He’s really just a glorified Andre Drummond except Drummond has to go against the bigs that are part of the “revival of bigmen” in Embiid, Joker, KAT.

    People also forget that Dwight's career also happened in a transition of style of play. When he entered the league, big men where the center piece of NBA teams. Then as he got to year 7-8 of his career the NBA switched to a guard driven league where stretch 5's where in demand and the style of play changed.

      Parker has the most points in playoff as a PG, he IS a top 10-12 all Time points in playoffs, he IS top 7 in all time assist in playoffs, he has a fmvp, has a 49%fg in carreer, AND he is available, klay Always injured and only shoot 3's
      TP 4 rings and klay 4 rings, but klay no fmvp
      TP dominated Jason kidd in 2003, and had a chauncey billups in 2005 and still managed to put numbers while being 23 yo...
      Klay is mostly a catch and shooter

    Dwight Howard absolutely belongs up there, i remember what healthy DH looked like in orlando he easily was comparable with LBJ in that time, and CB is out of his mind on his Rodman Take, dude has 5 rings and 20 rebounds games all over for years, he helped solidify MJ legendary status

    Dwight and Vince should've been on there.
    I don't get why you have to include all of the Top50 in the Top75. At the point when the Top50 were chosen, they were the Top 50. But through time of course other players can come along that surpass what you did and therefore will "kick" you down the list all time. So some could have fallen out the overall Top75 and Dwight, Vince and maybe T-Mac could have been on there.

      There's multiple players ahead of Vince Carter. Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, Bernard King, Mitch Richmond, Tracy McGrady. Too many folk judge Vince solely based on his athleticism & leaping ability, but not his overall skills & stats.

      T-Mac in his prime held a 5-7 year peak where he was arguably best player in world. There’s a lot of guys in top 75 that can’t claim nearly that. Mcgrady took a starting five of himself, darrell Armstrong, pat garrity, no outlaw, and Andrew declerq to the playoffs. A third of the team salary is being paid to grant hill. Injuries to himself and his teammates prevent t-mac from being a top 25 player.

    He's dead wrong about Reggie Miller. WAY too much emphasis on All-NBA teams and completely ignoring that he was the best player on a moderately talented Pacers team that consistently were near the top of the Easter Conference for several years, made it to the Finals, and darn near beat Jordan's Bulls.
    Writers in the 90s simply didn't know what they were watching. That's why he didn't have more accolades.

    the math just didn't work. you have 50 players in 50 years, then you feel sorry for dominique wilkins and add him, so only 24 players in last 25 years, which is a much greater era in NBA than the first 25 years.

    The biggest Snub ever was Dominique Wilkins not making in the top 50
    Even though he retired being averaging over 21ppg for 15 seasons and was top 7 all-time in scoring when he retired. Yet they had Grant Hill in the top 50 after 3 seasons of playing.

      You mentioned some great names here. What about Dennis Johnson, Bob Lanier, Jamaal Wilkes, Artis Gilmore, Bobby Dandridge, Gus Johnson, Connie Hawkins, Dikembe Mutombo, David Thompson, Tracy McGrady, Jo Jo White, Walt Bellamy, Chris Mullin, Andrew Toney, Pau Gasol, Shawn Marion, Shawn Kemp, Chris Bosh, Tim Hardaway Sr, Larry Nance Sr, Rolando Blackman, Micheal Ray Richardson, Cedric Maxwell, Yao Ming, Mitch Richmond. This is why making lists like this is meaningless, there is no official criteria, it's just opinion based. If there was actual statistical criteria, it would be easy to just list the guys who met the standards. But even more important than that, and we'll never know, is who would beat who if they played against each other. If I took 5 guys from the players you and I listed here, they would beat 5 of the best modern players.

    I somewhat understand keeping the original 50 but for the 100th you should absolutely start from scratch as 50 years since the 50th anniversary you would expect better players came and went since then. I say no automatics next time all 100 spots are up for grabs

      No, you can't erase the first 50 years of basketball and the pioneers of the sport. The game would NOT be what it is today without those that came before from everything on court to the off-season.
      The game has gone through many rule and format changes, including advancements in science, technology, medicine, nutrition, and training. That's all due in part from the men and women that came before.

    If you did a list after 5 years, and then one after 100 years, obviously not many on the first list would make the second list. The extreme case proves the point. The argument that if you made the top 50 then you should make the top 75 now is dumb.

    I swear the media loves to lie to people. Broussard just said Dwight's been a mediocre role player for 8-10 years lol. Dwight's been a role player for 3 years. He was a starter as recently as 2018 putting up 16 and 12 for the Hornets.

      You’re thinking 2k role titles. Role player generally means “non star or building block player who is there to play a role”. Donte DiVincenzo starts for the bucks but he’s a role player. Jae crowder starts for the suns but is a role player. JaVale McGee is always a starter but is a role player, he catches lobs and grabs boards and blocks shots. Dwight is effectively the same player as McGee and has been the last 5+ years or so.

    The Rodman take is embarrassing for anyone that knows the statistics, as well as the qualitative stuff. Rodman defended Magic and Shaq. Dwight was never in his league as a defender. Rebounds wise Rodman was two standard deviations higher than anyone else in the league. Pathetic take

    I remember Dwight his first year.. I couldn't understand why they guarded him like Shaq down low. Whenever DH got the ball he would get intentionally fouled.. they wouldn't let him shoot it. I was like, "why won't they let the rookie play?"
    I later learned it was because he was gonna dunk it and you couldn't stop it. He was so strong and could jump so high.
    Also, that Magic team was hard to cheat. That ref who publicly admitted the league rigs games said this... Anyhow I'm rambling

    i understand why broussard wants to show respect to the 50s-60s guys, but kyrie is CLEARLY a more talented player than guys like bill sharman, dolph schayes, and dave bing, among some others and he’s played for about as many szns as some of those guys, and if the talent isn’t enough he has a ring and 2 finals appearances and arguably the greatest shot ever, AND a lot of these 50-60s guy only had 1 or no championships in an era where there was i like only 9 teams and way less playoff games

    When Dwight Howard made all nba teams, remember that it was in a soft and dry center position. Dwight biggest competition at that position was Andrew Bynum. So using that he made more all nba teams over other guys isn’t fair when you consider that SF, and SG position are much deeper. Would have been different if Dwight was all nba in the 90s since the center position was deep then.

      While I agree that Dwight got snubbed that's actually a pretty good point. Take a guy like Paul Pierce. 4 all nba teams, no 1st teams. Yet there was about a 10 year period he was a borderline top 10 player. But when you have to compete against guys like LeBron, KG, Duncan etc for one of two forward spots, it gets tough.

    You CAN’T just ‘keep’ the SAME original top 50 players from the FIRST list and automatically ADD them to the top 75 list AS IF other players haven’t been BORN and played better and SURPASSED some of those players from the first top 50 list!! Some of those players HAVE to get moved off now, because NEW players came along in the past 25 years and became greater than some of those older players!! That’s LITERALLY how the continuation of LIFE works!! New things come, they are better, they replace older things that weren’t AS good! It doesn’t mean that those older things AREN’T good, it just means some of them aren’t AS good as these NEWER things!! I feel like only 60+ year olds created this list, 100% sure that’s the case, and people who hate Dwight Howard….

    It’s insane Rip is on the list. I get none of those Pistons were megastars but they still all had great collective careers. I’d put Rip ahead of a lot of these guys for the same argument people make for MJ/Kobe

    I disagree with one thing Nick said..people absolutely should be able to play themselves off a list. If the dominance counts so does the non dominance. That said Dwight 100% should be on the list since even in his drop off he was efficient and got a ton of rebounds.

    Dwight from 06-14 he was one of, if not the best Center in the league. He should've amde the list period.
