GarageBand for iOS: Recording Free Tempo & Making Guide Tracks

GarageBand for iOS is the ultimate tool for getting your ideas down, with a plethora of instruments and loops to help you along the way.
But what if you want to record your song free tempo? Perhaps you want the song to breathe and to have slower parts at the end of phrases. Well, there’s no way to make GarageBand on iOS to do this for you, but actually you’re better off playing a guide track in on guitar or keys or whatever, communicating as much rhythmic detail as possible to get a good result when layering up all the other instruments.
Here then is my take on it: for me, GarageBand for iOS has turned into a tape recorded here!
