I think the same thing. After tuning and putting an XRs Only oval exhaust on it, the sound is great and performance has improved. Just some minor tuning to get the jetting just right. It still sounds like an XR, but more responsive and a little more power. 🏁🔧
Too bad they stopped selling these in Canada! First bike was an '83 XR100 and I wanted to move up to the 650L. Just picked up a DR650 instead because people never sell their Hondas so they're hard to find. Awesome bike!
This thing's a beast and you sure look comfortable riding that thing around! Watching this yesterday and today LOL it motivated me to fire up the DRZ today....only to find the carbs clogged smdh.
You’ll get the carb right, I’m sure. Not a big job there. I did a XRs Only pipe, and a jet kit this morning. (Just dropped a slideshow video, but it came out well) It’s raining, so testing is delayed. Figures. lol
U know Y because XR'S RULE . I've bought my XR new in 2012 , it's my transportation so I ride it alot it 48,000 miles on It before, I had to rebuild The Top end ,but it's all New , 11:1 compression Hot cam , every thing New . Looks like U'er having a good time on Yours . Mines my retirement present to My self . Thanks from NOR-CAL.
Hey how tall are you? The reason being so s that im 5'11 and i want an xr 650 also . I just wanted to know if thats the right height for that bike. Thank you
I’m 6’1” 270lbs. That is the stock ride height on my bike. At 5’11” you should be fine. Even if you have a shorter inseam, you should still be good. In this video the bike was on the original Bridgestone tires, which are a lower profile than what I have on it now. The new tires are a bit taller on the sidewalls currently and that adds to the seat height by a small, but noticeable difference. Which is good for a guy my size. If the motorcycle seems to be a bit tall for you, they do sell lowering links for the rear suspension, and you can slide the front forks up in the triple trees. It seems a lot of riders have success with that setup. I hope this information helps! Feel free to ask any questions anytime, and good luck! 🏁
Yes, it’s the original carburetor and it’s jetted with the XRs Only jet kit. (You can see it with the XRs Only pipe and jet kit on a more recent video I made.)
@@Dave_A41 I’m glad you’re stopping by my channel! I’m glad you’re getting one! Feel free to stop by with any questions… The handlebars are Renthal “CR High Bend,” and they are a nice alternative to putting on risers, if they fit your particular ergonomics. Stay in touch! 🏁🇯🇵
The big Thumper has a unique sound even with the factory exhaust

Looked like a scene from The Great Escape. The Steve McQueen Scene. Great Bike.
@@paramjotsingh26 McQueen and XRs… kings of cool. Haha! 🏁
It's a ripper!! Nice wheelie!!!
A comment from my great friend Keith!!! 👍🏻

Thank you. I owned a lot of different brands, but I always go back to the Hondas! 🇯🇵🏁
What a great bike
XRs! 🏁
A beautiful bike, and I would think a beautiful man riding it!
Thanks for the kind words Elvis! 👍🏻
@@mikeyerke3920 No prob mate. I ride a KLR650 myself.
@@elvispriestly2791 KLRs are great bikes. 🏁 The following they have is amazing.
Nice bike, it's a shame that in France they don't sell it anymore !
Damn Chris, I’ll have to send one over to you!
I just did a winter ride video. Check it out! 🏁
fun times we love our 21. hope you get to do some chasing tomorrow and #livetoride
You just can’t go wrong with an XRL! 🏁
Was that you doing wheelie wow super nice bike I love Hondas bike and this is the one I want so bad you know how to ride that thing
Yes, that is me riding in the whole video. Not bad for a guy of 55 huh? 🏁
Love your bike! 2 questions for you- did the stock cables all work with the bar risers? And, what is your tail light set-up? Thanks.
I have stock risers with Renthal CR “high bend” bars. Taillight is XRs only I believe. Thanks for stopping by! 🔧🇺🇸🏁
You look so cool. The riding ergonomics and dynamic posture of the bike are just the way I imagined a dual sport to be."
The setup of the XR definitely suits my riding style, as I’ve been riding them for over 40 years! Thanks for the kind words.
@@mikeyerke3920 40 years! That's really something for the both of you.

Appreciate it Wayne!!! 🏁🇺🇸
Hi Mike, I think we're cousins. Nice bike.
Hey cuz! Nice to hear from you!
Get some!
Hell yeah!
You make the XR look small man😂
I’m a big dude. Ask your sister. 💕
Lol the black rims!
Is that bad? Haha!
It’s the Honda factory color scheme on those rims for 2023.
I love them!!!!
@@WickedFabz I seriously thought you were going to say they were shit. Lol. 👍🏻
No way the black looks good on it. Keep ‘em
@@WickedFabz They do give it a mean look, and they tie in to the other black items on the bike. 👀
is the carb stock on this one?
