    You can prime fuel filter on these cars by presseing and holding start button 6 times, but don't press clutch to inhibit engine starting. You will ear fuel pump working. After that, start the engine and keep it steady at 2krpm for 1 minute, wile remaining air gets out through return line.

    Volvo recommends water pump kit done at 120,000 miles. Just did mine 2012 Volvo XC60 3.2. $1100.00.

      @@mike_themechanic I always watch on RUclips what my mechanic has to do to Replace the parts. The water pump tensioner and new belt is a pain in the ass.

    Hello mate. I have 2012 volvo xc60 2.0L t5 petrol. Any suggestions and help with fuel filter location? Looking for days and can't find.

    • @mike_themechanic
      @mike_themechanic  Год назад

      As its a petrol and you can find it by following the fuel lines back from the engine, I would say it's probably built in to the pump in the tank and can't be changed

    If its the D5 engine, did you change the fan belt?

    Greetings Mike,
    Wondering if you can help me. I have a “13” XC60 w/158k. I recently had a start and immediate stall issue that’s cause me to unplug the MAF sensor to get home. Now I’m having a fuel pressure issue after replacing the sensor with a sensor firm the boneyard. Any ideas?

    • @mike_themechanic
      @mike_themechanic  Месяц назад

      No sorry. Have you tried a diagnostic machine to see what it says?

    • @Lhostel
      @Lhostel Месяц назад +1

      The diag machine didn’t give any indication at all but it turned out to be a fuel pump issue as well.

    Would you prefer 30 weight or 40 weight oil for a modern(ish) diesel engine?

    • @mike_themechanic
      @mike_themechanic  Год назад

      I went with the 30 as its better suited to the conditions of living in Northern Sweden.

      @@mike_themechanic Bought exact same brand for my OM648 Mercedes diesel engine. Allegedly (according to some forum posts referring to some oil analysis company in USA) it protects engine better than more expensive Mobil 1 (less metals in oil samples). Viscosity was dilemma - I went for the thick 5w40. But I don't use that car in winter. Latvian roads in winter are salt nightmare.

      @@ztech6596 we use the car all year round so - 30 to +30 and that's the reason I went for that viscosity

      Check out Rotella Diesel engine oil. Use what your manual says. The weight to use is usually on top of the cap of the oil filler hole.

    What are you doing putting 0w30 oil in a 2012 car,,,,,it wasn't until 2018 that the first cars were calling for a 0w30 oil,,,mike the mechanic ,,,,,I don't think so,,,

    • @mike_themechanic

      Well living in Northern Sweden and having temperatures from - 30 up to +30 we have used 0w30 for many many years.
