    A very good lesson..my little friend wanted to know how many threads you had to use as I had just gotten done showing her how to take them apart..Many do not mention the amount of thread used or the effect different numbers of threads will have on how the stitch will look..but a good teaching video...

      I always use 6 stranded embroidery floss. Usually DMC or Aurifil.

      This is 6 strands so it's easy to see in the video. You can use that amount or less, depending on the look you want. I usually use 3 or sometimes 2 if it's a really small flower.

    Does this work best if you're using all 6 threads? I halved mine for practice and my daisies look really skinny and dinky with no 'heavy, fat' end, if that makes sense. Like instead of a teardrop shape it's just a thin petal that's the same width from tip to middle.

      It should work with any amount of thread. It sounds like you might be pulling the thread too tight. You want to tack the end down while it still looks like a teardrop shape. You could also try making it shorter. I find that if my petals are too long, they turn out looking weird.

      Chain stitch is just a line made of LD stitches stitched together
