I like the little bit of golf they play during their nature documentaries.
Yes I agree, it's a brilliant series and keep up the "gimmies", I love that it bugs the s#!t out of a lot of rules freaks.
Most of the people aren't saying stop the gimmies because of any rules issues. The idea of matchplay is that you can give whatever you want. The problem is that they are trying to do a quest for the open and at open qualifying those 3-5 foot putts won't be given. Just trying to say that practicing in friendly competitions could help them deal with a pressure putt if either of them have a 3-5 foot putt to qualify.
LOL they are playing a match for entertainment with 2nd hand clubs...and you are concerned about them getting in serious reps for qualifying for a major??
first hole is why you just finish the hole...match play or not...
I like Pete's clubs the best....mizuno vs Nike is no contest, Mizuno irons all the way. I've had mizuno wedges before also and I loved them, so they would definitely be my pick. My first decent putter was actually the Yes Callie and again it's a beautiful putter so I would go with that. I would definitely choose the 5wood over the apex utility, but when I comes to drivers I would probably go for the Ping. Just for the extra forgiveness....great match though guys😀👍

it's so much nicer when shot tracer is directly behind the golfer, when it's on the side there is really no point because you can't tell if it's a good shot line or not.

Rick Shiels Golf...I see birds flying over me on the golf course all the time...but in Ohio, it's usually Canada Geese that poop everywhere or vultures circling because my game is dead!

Its the swing that counts. Still have my 2014 Big Bertha, still delightfully out hit everyone I play with. Find a club you like to hold, and work on your swing. Doesn't matter what brand or how old the club - you'll be just fine :)

My dads driver is older than me and he can still hit it pretty well on a nice hit

I love seeing wildlife out on the course. We have Bald Eagles where I play in Minnesota.

What do you guys think of those puttergrips. I am using the one that Rick have in this video in 140cc. Never had better puttergrip. (Used superstroke, scotty, oddesey..)

Cally BBAlpha, MP68, Tp5 wedge, Yes putter. Ill take that every day. "second hand clubs" are getting too good. They will have to start limiting their budget to about 1/2. Then things would get interesting.

Randy from Fried Eggs Golf has been gaming that Big Bertha Alpha for years now from what I understand. Seems to work quite well for him.

Pete has the best set because Mizuno. I may or may not have been playing with Mizuno irons since 2005 or so.

Good series but knee knocker putts are the most exciting part of matchplay so do not give them so freely, not only will it refine your pressure putting but it is better for the viewers too.

Good golf has nothing to do with the clubs and everything to do with the person who is swinging them.
I like mizuno so I pick pete and I agree with stop with the give mes it's not as fun to watch

Mad one but, I used to play golf a slight bit as a kid and wanting to get back into it! Anyone recommend any good places to get good clubs, balls etc... for a great price looking like £200/£250 maybe 👍🏽👍🏽

I would love to see them play a oldish golfball along with the clubs. Next time they should use a Titleist dt wound 90 or a balata ball to make it more realistic

Anyone else feel petes putting is too methodical and technical. He seems to be very deliberate and also takes a long time to get in 'correct' posture. I think he would benefit from developing more feel and forgetting technique on the course, that is for the putting green. Anyone agree?
Yes, also that lift he does at the start of his swing breeds inconsistency.

i didn't start playing that long ago, but i just wondered.. at 9:27 Pete picks up the ball and cleans it, while on the fairway.. i thought that was only allowed on the green?
cdh79 local rules sometimes permit players to 'clean and place' the ball. should be a notice up in your club if its acceptable. Usually during winter rules (mud ball)
cdh79 it's called 'preferred lies' the local rule allows you to mark, clean and place the ball in winter on fairways in UK
thanks a lot Gary and Fozzy. I never thought about the fact that there might be some local rules specific to the course, or period of time, but that makes sense.. so more rules I will have to get to start learning ;)
