Today I'm modding my Keychron Q1 Pro in Silver Grey with Keychron K Pro Banana switches. I'll be installing the Acoustic Upgrade Kit to see what difference it would make to the sound. What do you think? Is it worth the time and effort to install the Acoustic Upgrade Kit?

Hope you enjoyed the video! I think the sound did not change as much as I expected, but I really like the bounce on the new foam compared to the stiffer stock foam when typing on it. The gasket mount is slightly softer and bouncier after the mod. Do you think it’s worth the time? What other mods have you done to your keyboard?

100% honest. not a keyboard enthusiast. Just in the market for a new keyboard. When you did the sound test i closed my eyes waiting to hear a difference. I didn't detect any at all. The demo ended and i opened my eyes and had to rewind and visually see when the switch from old to new was. I didn't detect it at all. Video is nicely made though ;)

Yes, I agree the change in sound is pretty minimal. The difference in flex in switching up the foam is much more obvious than the difference in sound. The new foam is softer than the original foam.

It sounds slightly better, however, you would've gotten a much, much more pronounced difference if you had done something like the tape mod on your board. It's in my opinion by far the best option for people who have these Q series boards that will make the biggest difference, it's extremely noticeable. I was blown away with how different my Q5 Pro sounds after doing the tape mod.

honestly i think if you want to keep these videos as non-talking, i don't think you need to have no music throughout the whole video. most people are interested in the asmr from typing tests. you could also edit these shots of you taking apart things and putting them together much quicker, so the video doesn't drag as long. this in short form content could even go on youtube shorts and youtube pushes shorts a lot more than normal youtube videos nowadays.
basically, add a lil lofi music to the background, condense the videos, and they'll be a lot easier to watch and less people will want to skip to the end to see the end result

Yes, I agree. But I really wanted to try out what differences the foams would make to the sound. I might try out some different mods afterwards.

So that's basically the same stuff as in the q1 max I imagine? I got a v1 max but there is only one guy that reviews it, and another that reviews the v2 max. All the reviews are for the q1 max. Almost regret not just spending double to get the q1 max. But then again, the q1 max only has one dongle (usba, the v series has usbc and a), worse battery life (I imagine due to the metal case and need for extended antenna or something? because they are the same otherwise pcb etc wise) and better sound stock (not a bit fan of the spacebar sound it's too muted but overall it sounds better)

From what I understand, the Q1 Pro and Max have different chips inside and the foam is also slightly different. Not sure if it would make a difference though.

Well, it has minimal effects of sound. I found it to make more difference to the board flex.
