Lukaku wasn’t as horrible as people think.
Alexis is still our worst signing in modern history
imo Harry Maguire was just as bad because we instantly made him captain and he played every game and made so many mistakes plus we paid £80 million for him that'll go down as one of the worst signings ever imo at least Sanchez wasn't constantly playing.
@@paddylast5839 as far as i dislike Maguire but Sanchez was the worst. Maguire at least played well and improve our defense in his first season. while Sanchez over nothing, literally nothing. and he got paid 550k/week.
@@Alzenryo Sanchez wasn't made captain like Maguire instantly forcing him to play every game look at lindelof now playing with out him. and he didnt cost €80 MILLION and add on his €200k weekly wage to that. Say what you want Maguire signing was more costly than Sanchez's Maguire played a lot of games but he made the team worse.
@@paddylast5839 both cost alot, the one got a good season even play along with lindelof, the other over none. Case close
@@Alzenryo how much did both cost to buy? 😂 Captain Maguire the most retarded mistake ever.
If you start looking at players simply beyond their goals and assists, you'll see that there are very good players who are not always scoring or assisting. Case in point: Someone like Jack Grealish. He has been instrumental to City's success, but his "numbers" aren't crazy. He just keeps the ball in the team, and puts those around him in good positions.
Very often, the most important passes are the ones that come 1 or 2 moves before an assist, because they break difficult lines, and puts the assister in a position where the assist becomes simple. Perfect example: Casemiro's excellent flick to Sancho, who then easily squares it to Martial. Casemiro gets ZERO goal points for that goal, but he is the one who starts it all.
Stop only rating offensive players and midfielders on goal points, and you'll see a lot of great players across the big 5 leagues.
Thank you ❤

Mount is 24 year old and been Chelsea's main man since he was 21. He fits Ten Hag perfectly and he wants to play for man united unlike de jong. In ten hag I trust.
Mount has won UEFA Champions League
He was never Chelsea main man , he got a lot of playing time when other players were injured or out of form , that's it
@@casteltheghettomonk4392what are you talking about? Of course he was, he was the first name on the team sheet for every manager he’s played under and won Chelsea’s player of the year twice in the last 3 years
@@murraycooper9273 I am a Chelsea fan , he reached his peak , prime , max but never an elite player . He don't posses 1 wow quality maybe work rate and stamina. He got those awards when half the team was injured or out of form
@@casteltheghettomonk4392we don't know what will happen, different team different tactics. Even mascherano was shit at west ham and Liverpool, till barcelona signed him,
Bit unfair to say Lukaku was sh*t for us. Is 42 goals in 96 appearances sh*t??
Lukaku delivered for us, maybe he didn't hit the level we expected
Lukaku is an easy target for English media. Even you sir knows Lukaku was not shit. Maybe you have your own motives, god knows why.
Exactly. We still haven’t replaced his quality goal scoring.
it it not bad, but also not great. his main problem comes from his inability to hold the ball up field and the little pressing he makes
@@pingwang6831 not really what we need a striker to do. Need a striker to score goals first and foremost, we could have done with him last season
Exactly. And we have clearly seen Ten Hags ability to improve players. Look at Rashford, Shaw, Wan Bissaka. I trust Ten Hag.
Exactly bro. Especially Bisaka
he tries hard to improve Sancho
I trust ETH, board should back him with whoever he wants
Man wanted weghorse...
@@xpkx360 Only because the Glazers said they wouldn't sign anyone.
@@TheGrimmCommoner no excuses
@@xpkx360
There wasn't anyone who was available or willing to come
Jurge klopp wanted Mbappe got Nunez.... Pep guardiola wanted Alexis Sanchez etc
I also think Ten Hag wants mount for his versatility. He can play as an 8 as well as an inside forward. So he can play midfield and attack
And work rate. He does exactly what’s asked of him and sometimes that’s more valuable than raw ability (not that he’s a bad player either). Park Ji-Sung was a similar mould and I’d give anything to have him in our team now
@@hooky17 not as tenacious as Park Ji Sung but yes you're right
@@GAMEBREAKER700 absolutely. Park had a better engine for sure too. But in terms of following instructions and sacrificing. Both play that kind of role
Think hes our perfect replacement for eriksen. Mount case bruno, they fill each others gaps. Eriksen, though an amazing player, has shown his age this season.
We should sign johnny down the bus stop he would solidify the team
I agree, players should be signed to build teams & systems not simply because of their name & status. Past Utd managers have fallen into that trap. We want a team of players, not PSG style galacticos, Ten Hag knows that & i for one trust his judgement
£400M later… lol
@@BrandonLawrence yea, not gone how i’d like so far…..😆
@@mundaneman1811 maybe he need another £1B to build a team like you saying
Tbh this Mason Mount signing is gonna be a revelation of amazing football next season!
Anybody questioning mount is off their rocker. Back to back player of the season for Chelsea in seasons where they won the Champions League and Super cups.
We don't need another #10 though. No-one is disputing that Mount can play. We need another CB, a RB, CDM, CM and a ST. And a GK. So, 6 new signings in an ideal world. But we don't live in an ideal world because if we did, the Glazers wouldn't be owners. So we probably won't get 6 in the summer window. The point is that we still don't need another #10. A lot will depend on who is leaving but if the rumours are true and McTominay is leaving, we will need a new CM. If Maguire leaves, we'll need a new CB. Ditto for Wan-Bissaka and what that will mean for our RB slot. And we need a keeper who can comfortably play it long or short out from the back, an understudy to Casemiro and an elite level striker. Being that both Sancho and Eriksen can play in that #10 role, I do have to question this link with Mount.
Thanks a lot for putting this out there. A lot of Man United fans needs to hear this.
Bruno played way too many games this year. We need someone there
Dybala imo. Cheap, a proper baller and can be played on multiple positions. Although he’s injury prone he won’t be playing every game so he could be managed. Again, he’s really cheap so worth taking a chance. Bruno is just 28, so he has a fair amount of time in him, getting someone young who wants to get game time will eventually just get frustrated.
@@HaseebK0but Dybala himself once had a chance to sign for US but he denied that's clearly he don't wanna play for Man United end of story!
Maddison is a better cheaper alternative. One of the players that had a good season in a lackluster Leicester.
@@Febreeze_Odor_Eliminator maddison went to spurs for £40mil. In no way was he ever going to be a cheap alternative and second, he’s already gone.
@@valerylegasv8398 dybala at the time was playing for Juve with regular CL games and was considered a world class player. Why would he come to united at that point?
If he was available now, I’d take him without thinking twice.
Well, I'm thinking the same thing too.
Still remember KDB, Salah were average players when they were at Chelsea and look at them now. Hopefully it's gonna be a successful signing if we do get him.
Coming from a Chelsea fan for almost 2 decades, Money Mase is a great player and you will see that he is up there with the very best, just give him 1 month to regain form from a bad season at Chelsea and he will shine. I feel like it makes sense to move him out but I’d pick him over half the Prem midfielders easily. Even if he plays 20 minutes every week watch him get at least 10 goals this season.
Falco was the best of that batch unfortunately we had him on loan when he recently recovered from injury, took him a while to get up to speed. If he's availabe on a free we take him!,
I really Hope Mason Mount turns out to be one of the greatest and most influential signings of the post Ferguson and early stages of ten hags era and he can contribute to us achieving some success obviously I’m not expecting the treble this season😂 but baby steps hoping that for ten hags and the clubs sake but also for masons sake as I think he’s a great lad too glad he came to us
Can't remember many Wanted Maguire that Summer coz everyone wanted Koulibaly. Mount is just as same sort of Signing as Maguire & I just hope it'll work
You speak sense, first time I’ve ever seen you on my feed. People talk about the fact like they knew X player was going to flop. If you knew that, you’d be making decisions at UTD, not stacking shelves in Tesco during the nights. People think they always know better after the fact, finally someone who sees sense from the get go.
And look where most of the players was before/after United I think the real problem is United and not these players you signed.
Forgot to add Alexis Sanchez
As an arsenal fan
I’m am still pissed that he moved
Lukaku 1st season was so good. If he never put that weight on during the summer after his 1st season he could still be playing for a top club in England week in week out
Well i agree with everything you've jus said except when u mentioned Maguire i for one never knew the player i jus woke up one morning then heard Fabrizio saying "Here we go Maguire to Man Utd for 80mil"👀 i never had faith in him
couldn't agree more !! trust the manager !!!
Christian Ericsson was a fantastic signing ... (except fa cup final)
Saying Lukaku was shit is harsh. And Falcao was only a loan so not bad business by United there in retrospect
Cus he’s an Englishman. And Englishmen overhype each other. Mount is a shit player that can’t take us to the league or anywhere we want to, we don’t need him pls.
But if includes salary, he is a 6M man for 18 months😮
This guy and his Love for Maguire HAHAH
I think he adds competitions across the front line and in midfield 👌🏻
Pogba should be on that list in my opinion
He would fit the play style that man unt has and would help them possibly win the Prem or Ucl
Think about it for a second - other than Maguire, the other 2 players in that list went on to play much better once they left United. May be we are the problem. May be the club and management should share some responsibility on why these players just didn’t click with United. It’s probably not wise to just go out and buy the best money can buy - rather we should focus on the players who value the club and can seamlessly integrate with the team and it’s style of play. If you’re living in a desert - wtf are you going to do with a Ferrari 😅
I’m hoping he’s going to be the next Carrick/Scholes for Utd.
Maybe he'll be used to give Bruno rest. He might also be played in Bruno's position while Bruno goes on the flank so that someone else can get a break. Maybe he will be retooled to play in the Ericksen role as well. The guy doesn't need to be a striker and could still get 30-50 games.
As a Manchester United fan I hate transfer windows. Every time, it's a clown show where we scramble for 3rd and 4th choice targets.
The guy who made Sebastian Hauller and Tadic perform extraordinarily may know why he wanted Mount.I trust him
The coach who moved from Chelsea knows Mount as well
I have not been impressed by any of our transfer targets so far, especially Mount and Rabiot. But as long as ETH trusts them, all I can say is get them because Bald is BEST!
I think I know what ETH has seen in Mason Mount…………………. A homegrown player to meet the quota 🤔🤔🤔
Mount is a good player but the price tag is too much 🙂
Lukaku wasn’t a bad signing Ole just wanted a more mobile striker.
Di Maria wasn’t a bad signing still got 10 assists in a year where he barely played and we didn’t score many goals. And the football was awful under LVG.
Maguire isn’t the player fans wanted, the fans wanted De Ligt or Ruben Dias.
Mount could be an excellent player for us, but the recruitment of players hasn’t been the only problem. Moyes, LVG, Mourinho and Ole weren’t up to the task either.
I was a mount doubter. Still kinda on the fence but if you go back and watch him in 20/21-last season early on. He was really good. Forgot he was actually the one who passed to Havertz in the UCL final so without mount they might have not won it. I’m hoping he becomes a solid signing
Plenty of people understood Maguire was a overhyped English CB before we signed him 😂
Mount is back to back Chelsea player of the season, got over 25 goals and assists for Chelsea last season. On form is one of the best progressors of the ball from midfield in the league. He'll be an upgrade on Eriksen in the No.8 position.
Player of the season is a fan vote. Stop pretending it is more than it is. He isn't what we need. Not a press resistant ball carrier nor a good defender. He plays in an advanced position because he is a 10 rather than an 8. He is an upgrade on Erikson but isn't a patch on a real number 8 like Cacedio or Caqueret.
Mason Mount would be perfect for Liverpool but they seemed to have cooled interest.Great addition to any squad
Yeah but chelsea want minimum €80m for him. Way too much for an alright player. Wouldn't be a smart decision to buy him.
I think ten hag is really gonna start focusing on depth aswell as improving our best 11, city could arguably win the league using the players on their bench their quality in depth is amazing and that’s what you need, a complete squad that means you can change a game that’s not going your way or see a game out and have trust that the players you send on aren’t gonna Harry Maguire things and fuck it up
what i can see is, ETH want his own player. Just like antony, martinez, weghorst, & sabitzer nobody expected that they really come to Man UTD
It's a v sensible signing as a replacement/cover for Eriksen to play alongside Casemiro.
It's clear to see Eriksen is now beyond being able to play 90 mins regularly. He was exhausted 20 minutes into the Cup Final and should have gone off, but we have no able deputy in that deep lying creative role.
Right now, if Eriksen doesn't play, the responsibility to link defence to attack on transition is all on Bruno, with the occasional diagonal from Casemiro. Fred & McTom can't do it. Sabitzer can but he's made of glass and not staying?
We need someone like Mount.
That's the point, Trust the process. We trust ten hag🤞🏻🙌🏻
Tbh this all goes back to fergi not replacing all his older players with anybody and leaving the team in a shambles for an uphill battle for moyes
Mount would be good in certain games away. He can be used like a Park Ji Sung but he’s not a player that is good enough to start every week if we’re serious about winning the premiership against. We need a high IQ technician on a Gundogan level no.8 and we also need a glue touch no.10 like Kudus or Lee Kang-In. Plus we need a no.6 and my ideal choice would be Caicedo. Casemiro is a short term fix and he needs cover.
Can't disagree. I'd be focusing on having our starting level 11 hitting a certain I. Q...
Brentford, Newcastle, villa... They all done well because the teams footballing I. Q was solid.
Maguire, sancho and gernacho lack in I. Q... Make silly choices or take way to long to process what's going on. Gernacho is young though, but we need solid players now... Mount will be decent for us right now.
@@retroafro1 Garnacho and Maguire I agree with but Sancho does have high IQ, he just lacks in confidence.
@@thebizness5596 I believed that too... But we can't wait any longer for him to gain confidence. Too often he bottled it when we had a chance on goal.
He needs a fresh at a new club
@@retroafro1 I'd give him one more season to prove himself and if he doesn't improve it would be fair to let him go.
Excellent point 👍🏽
Look I think there is a reason that however coach who came to Chelsea had Mount in their starting line up, tactical he is brilliant. When Haverz came everyone was like that Mount gonna sit on the bench but that never happened for Havertz sake
Tbf, NO ONE saw Maguire's shithousery coming because it's centred around his confidence if anything, Di Maria just didn't like Manchester which was unpredictable, Lukaku wasn't half bad for us, and we all knew Falcao was a lottery given he was injured and was clearly on a decline. Even the managers, can't see shit like this - the players' emotions and his recovery from injury. We're all just betting and hoping for the best because players that are determined to win a trophy don't really come to United anymore.
Spot on Joe!!! 🔥
The reason why mason mount is a good signing is that he’s English and therefore fits the English quota
Don't forget Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal
Thing is the signings Erik has made this season none of them have made the team worse. They’ve all been fantastic signings
Yes there was Wout Weghorst who personally, I thought actually sweat blood for United and tried his best but when your organisation only gives you enough money to only get Wout Weghorst, what could Erik expect?
They need to back the manager. They can not have a repeat of what happened with Mourihno after a good season and then no backing, whilst other rivals recruited
Think half of us United fans who wanted us to play a high line while being on the front foot and play exciting football were skeptical about Maguire, but every ambitious team learned from our valuable lesson of buying somebody that slow who severely lacks agility. we had loaned in an aging Falcao who’s season just gone ended because of a serious injury and then we expected him to do madness in the prem? Di Maria didn’t want to leave Real Madrid and was forced out and only played one season at United. They didn’t make sense, Casemiro made sense, Martinez made sense, Herrera made sense, Bruno made sense these are all players we needed and players who wanted to come to united. Pogba and Lukaku would’ve made sense if we had a solid Defence and Midfield to complement, Sancho doesn’t make sense without a proper striker, too many times we’ve tried to put the icing on a half baked cake and haven’t learned that it just doesn’t work
You are 100% with everything you've said. It's about a player fitting in making sense.
Mount off the ball would be our best player. For certain games I get it where we want to press high, and Nick balls high up off goal kicks etc. so this would mean a change of shape potentially. my worry is at best he is a good second option to Bruno, Eriksen and if you play all three we lose Anthony or Sancho out the XI. I don’t hate it but I look forward to see what ETH does with him before I am completely sold on the idea.
you only got di maria because the previous owners thought he was to ugly. fact lol
Lukaku wasn’t a shit signing, he actually made a somewhat decent return. We only got rid of him because Ole didn’t want him.
2 times player of the year at Chelsea. 19th in the world in the race for Ballon D’or in 2019.
….if other people can’t see what’s he does they just aren’t looking.
Talking complete sense bro... Wtf happens with these players... Pogba aswell ... Hopefully this works more lads like Bruno and Martinez are needed
I never thought Harry maguire was a good signing, everyone thought I was delusional well here we are
They signed all those players after their prime, sanches, eriksen, cavani, etc..
Mount can play any positions in midfield
Dont forget sanchez, pogba and sancho
At the end of the day, it's all about the manager and people on the top of the club.
Falcao wasn’t shot he needed fitness
Falcao was on loan, and we paid a 6 million loan fee for him.
Finally someone speaks sense. Makes it look like all the players we signed earlier weren’t the best out there. But once they get to man Utd, a voodoo tends to overshadow them. Just maybe if we had the right coach like ETH who is assertive. Just maybe they would have worked.
Spot on
I dont agree on this to be honest:
- Maguire was good, but not worth +70M.. We should have refused over 50 MAXIMUM and then expectation was too high for an above average player.. City knew it and then focus elsewhere.. There was Saliba (for only 20 to 30M), De Ligt (who could have been convinced and with between 80 to 90M to spend but with a young, future captain, and one of the best at only 20yo..) so I was against spending this much on an older player that wasnt internationally proved..
- Di Maria was a bit of a ? since he moved from sunny weather to rainy one.. I was expected trouble in transitions and it happens.. A bit sad how we pushed him out but now he dont respect the club anymore so no hard feelings i guess..
- Falcao was an opportunity as much as Cavani or Zlatan, some works and some dont but we havent spent randomly on a player.. That wasnt a mistake imo since he was bringing something to the team in term of mentality too..
- Lukaku wasnt that bad.. He played on a weird united side and we didnt play for his qualities like Everton did before.. He scored nearly 1 goal every 2 matches and still put some good ones like vs PSG or some other team, saying he was sh*t is just utter nonsense...
We need to learn to stop spending overprice to secure player! WE need proper management and EtH is pushing in the right direction..
Now Mount is a Chelsea player, he wants the move and we are keen to land it but Chelsea overprice him like Leicester did for Maguire and we need to see if ten Hag and the staff has the guts to do the deal in a fair price or leave for another player..
We had A LOT of players available to transfers this year, even more in midfield with Caicedo/Rice/Alvarez/Partey/Onana/... as CDM and Mount/Rabiot/LaFee/Gravenberch/Sabitzer/Valverde/... ALL available on the market if a fair price is placed(if we negociate properly tho).. We need to stop forcing if they dont want to sell!
Imagine we sign [My 1st pick (2nd; 3rd; ...)]:
- Diogo Costa (or Onana)
- Disasi (or Timber or Kim Min-Jae)
- Alvarez (or Caicedo or Rice or Sangaré or Onana)
- Gravenberch (or Mount or La Fee)
- Güler (or we put Amad as a sub 10 or get Cherki for 30M since he will cost far more in the future and can play RW/CF/CAM so he fits our system while we can loan him if he need to adapt at PL)
- Højlund (or Kane or Havertz)
- Kolo Muani (or Thuram or Openda)<
We would have a team balanced with
GK: Diogo Costa (Heaton)
RB: Wan-Bissaka (Dalot)
CB: Varane (Disasi)
CB: Martinez (Lindelof)
LB: Shaw (Malacia)
CDM: Casemiro (Alvarez)
CM: Gravenberch (Eriken/Fred)
CAM: Bruno Fernandes (Güler/Amad)
RW: Antony (Sancho/Pellistri)
ST: Højlund (Kolo Muani)
LW: Rashford (Garnacho)
The team would be balanced on all position, enabling ten Hag to play different comps and strategies with 3/4/5 at the back; a high defense or a counter attack team; 1/2 strikers;...
I trust ten Hag knows what he do and backup him 100% but with those negociations we do + the takeover being delayed, I think more and more he wont have what he wants and we're juste gonna crash next year...
I haven't saw D Maria at Mancester United
It's weird. I've been harping on to my son all season that Mount worked be the perfect alternative to Eriksen and Fred. Got the legs of the latter and the ability (almost) of the former. Gets up and down, can take a free kick, gas energy and can cover anywhere in midfield.
Lukaku wasn’t sh*t for United . He just didn’t have enough around him . 46 goals in 90+ games is not Sh*t.
Yeah fair point...I still want Kane though...
It's not about signing a star player, we have to think about the style and skill sets of the player, will it match up with the ideology of the club playing style and the manager? If the player is not cope up with that then it ll end up as a waste of money!
Am I the only one who thinks we don’t need a striker that costs more than 20M. I really don’t rate that much strikers, but a ball playing false 9 with promise that can press would be better than a Harry Kane. We need more players like Malacia that can provide cover so we can protect Rashy at all costs.
ETH remembers him from a spell Mount had in the Netherlands
Tbf all of 10hag's signings have been good so far
The problem was that we never established a playing style , not the players . Thats why our team became a graveyard for the players . You forgot the greatest example , Alexis .
We need the player with the number 77 🤫🔥
Just because lots of fans weren't clamoring for a player doesn't necessarily correlate to said player ending up being a good signing. For example no one thought United would sign Dan James or Alex Telles and they both didn't work out.
Exactly, respect ETH for what he’s proven & what’s yet to be proven over time. No interference…….
The mistake with MAGUIRE was simply an overlooked fact. He wasn't a leader just a big man in Leicester with Morgan (Leader/Captain) watching his back & telling him what to do because obviously, he had more speed.
you doesn't need a good player...
you just need a player that can fit to your system tactics
You do have a point
To be honest, I trust Eric ten hag and wil back any player he brings
Lukaku scored loads of goals for us he couldn't help what the defence at the time was like
Very good point
I don't question Mount's ability but I'd just like to know where he will play
@@jamesmccaul2945 It seems that the main criticism of Casemiro and Eriksen has been Eriksen's defensive contributions and I'm not sure Mount is any better although I've never really seen him play deeper.
Think getting Mbappe was a bad call, its not how ETH plays. He likes a strong, target man. Also, the formation is the problem. If you play with a 4-2-3-1, or even a lopsided 4-3-3 with a CAM instead of a CM, this would work and Bruno would also score.
Falcao with a rushed ACL recovery didnt make sense, before his injury he would have scored for fun 😣
Billy Gilmour was discarded from Chelsea, but only Brighton were available to pick him up for a song. The boy pulled a masterclass for Brighton against United and Arsenal. He will replace MacAllister and Caicedo both who were cheaply bought and now being sold at a premium. One thing is for sure, the scouting team for United is deadwood, they should all be fired and replaced with those from Brighton.
Maybe if ten had bought them ,we could have been brill
even Alexis Sánchez and Pogba were in their prime and that didn't work in Man UTD. I think Ten Hag buys players that will fit his football philosophy and that's important. I trust him and I hope the owners fully support him in this transfer window.
Mounts record at Chelsea was excellent...
Even if you sign the most valuable nay the best player, but you don't have a plan to play him along the rest of teammate, then that signing is doomed as failure. That was what happened with us all those years post Fergie era, we have signed dozens of very good players , but team wise things were pretty awkward. The priority is to find the bigger picture of how the jigsaw puzzle looks, later on try and find the missing pieces. It's like having enough money to live the rest of your life comfortably, but you don't know the philosophy of how to live comfortably.
I agree with you... this makes alot of sense
ETH also saw something in Anthony
Lukaku was actually good under mourinho, he just didn’t fit Oles style, which is a shame cause I’d take him in a heartbeat for the strikers we have now
