Billy Gibbons: Saw Elvis live at 5 yrs old, Sat in on a BB King recording session at age 7, and opened for Jimi Hendrix at 17 years old. This man doesn't belong in the Smithsonian.........he IS the fricking Smithsonian! When asked how it felt to be the world's greatest guitarist, Jimi Hendrix replied "I don't know, you better go ask Billy Gibbons." - Truth.
Thank you for reacting to this song. I love everything ZZ Top. My #2 favorite band of all time! Please consider reacting to "Blue Jean Blues ", "Fool For Your Stockings ", "I Thank You ", "Waitin For the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago ". 🤠🥳👌
Saw them in San Diego in the early 80's. What a rocking night that was. I'm still asking myself; How can that much music come out of just three dudes? Amazing evening.. Thanks guys...
Saw ZZ on their Cheap Sunglasses tour👍 it was the most diverse crowd I ever saw. A mix of cowboys, bikers, stoners, & jocks. 🤟 They opened with Manic Mechanic & the place went nuclear.💥
I took my son to the Delta Blues Museum for his 15th birthday, as he was a budding blues guitarist. It was a GREAT day. We saw the famous Muddywood guitar that ZZ Top had built from wood taken from the house where Muddy Waters was born. 💜💚💛✌️
And “Terry Kath” both Gibbons & Hendrix in this regard agreed on Weird, I grew up listening to “Chicago” but, they were truly a band No, guitar theater so it was all just great musicians One of the Greatest has been left grossly underrated Considering who thought he was the best. Yes, Ok! 🎶✌️😊🎄
They are a good time and vibe whenever you need them I saw them for the first of many times in 1973 opening for Uriah Heep, they instantly killed the crowd with most of Tres Hombres, the heavy, Texas blues-rock they delivered was something we were blow away by. Tremendous band, try Cheap Sunglasses. Enjoy. 🎸
Miss BJ on the ghost videos ....make a cameo from time to time man lol;...these guys ALWAYS bring the guitar heat!!! When you listen to VooDoo Child, your getting VooDoo healing. lol check out Beer drinkers and hell raisers
First of all Miss Asia and Mr BJ; y'all are the best. Yes, indeed, WE are from The SOUTH and proud of it! My people are from Tennessee and Mississippi. These 'ole Southern boys are from Texas. From the SOUTH where We Always KICK A - -! Don't mess with The SOUTH!
That ZZ Top sunglasses and bearded 'signature look' also allowed them to move about in public without being recognized. That band was next-level smart about how they approached the music business. Subtle, hard working geniuses.
Billy Gibbons style really isn't Southern Rock (like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Molly Hatchet, Allman Bros., etc. ) because Texas is it's own thing, NOT part of the Deep South. It's rooted in Texas and Mississippi Blues. He was a young favorite guitar player of Jimmy Hendrix.
I'm a life-long metal dude but there is no one, literally NO ONE, cooler than The Reverend Billy F. Gibbons. If your favorite musician is a star then Billy is a SUPER NOVA! 'Nuff said. ;-)
Funkiest ZZTop: "Thug", "If I could only flag her down", "Loaded", Trippin'", "Fearless Boogie", "Belt Buckle", "Rythmeen", "Poke Chop Sandwich". I ain't lyin' a bit, and you need to take a hit!
Check out anything from ‘Tres Hombres’ and the studio side of ‘Fandango’. For a year or two about 1974-75 they might have been the best band in the world. You should also check out Parliament/Funkadelic if you never have. Thanks!
What's is everyone's first ZZ Top song they heard? Mine was ten foot pole, if you listen to it be warned it's all mumbling except for the chorus, Dusty's bass playing on that song got me into the bass. That was a sad sad day when he died for me. Rip to a legend
After the catastrophe named "Afterburner", the follower "Recycler" just had two acceptable songs for old fans : This one and "2.000 Blues“. A light in the black.
During the 2000's, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top guitarist and one of the favorite guitarists of Jimi Hendrix) was in Manhattan one evening and his usual go-to club was closed then he decided to go the the next one that has just opened. It was pretty noisy so Billy was on the verge to get out when a big guy told Billy "there is someone that wants to speak to you". He said "OK" so the big guy pointed at a place where Prince was seated. So Billy went to Prince, he told him "I just want to talk guitar" so Billy told him "Well, you come to the right place!". And they talked for a good two hours. But don't just take my word for it : ruclips.net/video/pqnl-O4zYU4/видео.html

They took their name from ZZ Hill and BB King .They didn't want to use KING out of respect so they used Top because he was the top blues man
The blues got a hold of him, and he got a little dizzy
Nice! How about a little "Waitin' For the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago". Maybe even a LIVE "Brown Sugar" session.....
This...! And "Blue Jean Blues"
They did them on a ZZTop livestream about a month ago. Look up under Asia &BJ LaGrange. 3 hrs run time. Regards

ZZ Top were the perfect modern rock band whose music paid tribute to the old time blues.
ZZTOP......"Nasty Dogs & Funky Kings"!

One of my favorite ZZ cuts...awesome LP and very underrated. "Burger Man," is the ultimate "fun" song...silly, foot-tapper.
You need to listen to Jesus Done Left Chicago from ZZ Top. That will really give you a vibe.
Saw them in San Diego in the early 80's. What a rocking night that was. I'm still asking myself; How can that much music come out of just three dudes? Amazing evening.. Thanks guys...

Please react to their song Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers
The drummer who doesn't have a beard is named Frank Beard. So, there are three beards in the band.
Check out Rough Boy, it's a gem !!👌
You should watch them live
