The thing is they’ve already listened to ‘Waiting On the Bus’. They probably just didn’t know you were supposed to play them both together because they’re listed as two songs.
@Greg Jones And then "You don't have to worry, 'cause takin' care of business is His name" is the cherry on top. Love it! Bought this album when it first came out & I was about 19. To this day it's still my favorite ZZ Top album. And "Waiting For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago" is my favorite of any songs they've ever done. Also saw them in concert that same year, pre-beards! Saw them again in the 80's but still love those early days. 💙☮💙✝️💙
As stated before, Waiting For the Bus is awesome as well. However, if deep southern blues is your kind of music, PLEASE react to Blue Jean Blues. Yall will really love it. As usual, this reaction is another great one. ✌
Yes, absolutely! A hard second for Blue Jeans Blues! Much more contemplative and soulful pure blues rather than bangin' blues rock, but the guitar is much tighter and top-notch.
This is my favorite ZZ Top song - it's fantastically FUNKY! As other have mentioned, those of us that grew up with this song also had heard it with Waitin for the bus opening it up. They just go together and radio played them both because the record was pressed with both these songs too close to separate and gave DJ's a bathroom break.
The little band from Texas ♥️ absolutely pure blues and all of kids from Texas fell in love with them immediately. Great album Tres hombres was my first album that I owned of theirs concerts were terrific.
'Jesus' in this song is the Chicago AM radio station WLS. On a clear night members of ZZ Top, when they were very young, could hear WLS clear down deep in Texas on their radio. That's how 'Jesus' left out of Chicago and you could hear it clear down to New Orleans. True Story!
This early ZZTop is the REAL deal. So heavy and funky. Always gets me - great Texas band. Maybe the greatest...nice reaction, y'all! Plus - they got their name from BB King. They wanted to reference him with 2 letters (BB-ZZ) and a word meaning the best (King-Top)!
A very solid band. Saw them once in concert. Sounded as if I were listening to the studio tracks. A band you could listen to anytime for a good background.
I saw them years ago and George Thorogood opened for them and he was by far the best show that night. The next night i saw a great show from Bo Diddly @ Blakes House of Rocking Blues and that old man killed it in a hot sweaty club for 3 hrs.
Glad you guys love ZZ Top too, no one sounds like that. I listen to almost all genre of music, since I was a Kid these guys are my favorite of all time! That blues rock flavors never sounds bad! Give a few of these old funky tunes a listen. Brown sugar. Mushmouth Shoutin. I Thank You I’m Bad I’m Nationwide. All groovy as Hell!
Wife here.., Loooove this ZZ TOP song.., Cool Coincidence you reacted to a Muddy Waters song yesterday..."Took a job in Mississippi turning MUDDY WATER into wine"...Is rumored to be a Metaphor for the Great MUDDY WATERS touring and Rocking Out.!!Looooove ZZ TOP for all the reasons you've stated!!!
Oh no! the preceding song "Waiting' For The Bus," goes hand in glove with this song. I know you guys couldn't have known that. Forgive me..I'm nitpicking! Hey, send some of that rain our way over here in California. We sure could use it! ☔🌧
I always thought of it as "Southwestern Rock." as opposed to southern rock which is more Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, etc. Similar, but with that western feel thrown in.
I saw them play this album 1977 my 1st year in the navy in San Diego at the sports arena man couldn't believe 3 guys could put that sound out great album and great reaction for the little ole band from Texas, Keep spreading the music around God-bless.
"Waitin' For the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago" are always played together. It's like Led Zeppelin's "Heartbreaker/Living loving Maid". You don't separate them. You guys missed the bus give time with this reaction!!!🤣🤣
Love you guys but you made a Boo Boo. 🤣 You didn’t do Waiting For The Bus first. No one ever knowingly splits them up. I know you did them together one night when you live-streamed them together so it’s cool. It was actually my favorite of all your live streams. More please from, “That Little Ole Band From Texas.” 🤘😎
Y'all like the blues, you have to hear Blue Jean Blues. One of the best slow blues tracks you'll ever hear. I'm Bad I'm Nationwide and Fool For Your Stockings aren't to be missed either, great ZZ Top songs.
Don’t know if y’all will see this but just subscribed! I would love to see y’all react to without me by Day seeker! It’s a switch up from what y’all have listened to so far but man the lead singer has a gorgeous voice!
Billy and the boyz were from Houston. Lightning Hopkins and Albert Collins were home boys. All the greats like Muddy Waters and Howling Wolf could get a decent crowd when blues wasn't popular.
Where's Waiting For the Bus? It was the lead in to this song and were always played together on the radio. Whoever requested just this one song does not get it. Great song but the glass is half empty...
Can't go bad with their blues songs, you can definitely tell the difference in the bass since Dusty played with his fingers and Elwood plays with a pic
I really enjoy y’all .. do yourselves a favor .. this is a ZZ Top song that NOBODY knows about …but , as a drummer and guitar player … PLEEEEZ react to “ Rhythmeen “ …. Killer song !!!!
Many of these 60s and 70s guitar rockers who incorporate blues credit another guy from Texas for this style of music. T Bone Walker was the Godfather of Blues Rock.
There are only 3 bands I can think of growing up with just a drummer, guitarist and bassist that could put out such a full sound. Zz top, cream and band of gypsy's. You know zz top. Cream was Eric Clapton, jack Bruce and ginger Baker. B of g was jimi Hendrix, Billy cox and buddy miles. Btw check out band of gypsys live the song ' who knows' from 1970. Jimi Hendrix at his best.
A reporter to Jimi Hendrix once asked; "What does it feel like to be the greatest guitarist in the world?" Jimi to reporter; "I don't know. You should go ask Billy Gibbons." - true story people.
Great early days ZZ Top when they still had that blues vibe. They got the shout out to Muddy Waters in there too Cultural appropriation? Yes, thank you. Give me some more of that in celebration of them and all the artists that influenced them. Why America is great.
We were in high school when this album came out. Driving around in second hand cars that didn't come with factory air conditioning, and smoking $10 an ounce marijuana. 😂 👍🏻 😎
What most do not realize is that Jesus didn't leave Chicago.....He's just takin' a look around. Make no mistake ......He is watching. God Bless the Wise. Amen.
This song is best with "Waiting for the bus" then going into "Jesus just left chicago" for me anyway
An international law was broken by listening to just one song.

Criminal to not play the two together…..
Waitin' For the Bus and Jesus Just Left Chicago go hand in hand, both phenomenal songs by ZZ Top! Billy Gibbons is a very underrated blues guitarist!
It's weird when they're not played together... lol
^^^Dito
@@rugby342I haven't known anyone who has underrated him!
"Waitin' for the Bus" is basically part of "Jesus Just Left Chicago." They are always played together as one song.
Thanks
Please do "midnight rambler" by rolling stones. Live version off the "get yer ya ya's out" 1969 live album is epic!!
I love the lyrics, especially "You might not see Him in person, but He'll see you just the same."
Amen!

ZZ Top are the bridge from the old time blues to modern Rock and Roll.
'Jesus' in this song is the Chicago AM radio station WLS. On a clear night members of ZZ Top, when they were very young, could hear WLS clear down deep in Texas on their radio. That's how 'Jesus' left out of Chicago and you could hear it clear down to New Orleans. True Story!
Sung this with my Bands for over 12 years. The Real ZZ!
SAME HERE.
Awesome start of the album with Waitin' For the Bus running into this song.
Ooooh, this is played on the radio with WAITING ON THE BUS. That’s how I wish y’all heard it for the first time.

Love ZZ Top! ✌️👏 “waiting for the bus” is usually part of that 2fer. Good stuff

I saw the title and was “No, No, No”….. Waitin’ on the Bus/Jesus Left Chicago is the only way to react!!
"You don't have to worry,
Cause taking care of business is His thing!"
I always thought it was "his name", but "his thang" sorta sounds like it.😊
Ya'll should check out "Blue Jean Blues" and "Just Got Back from Baby's" for more Z,Z, Top blues
"Waitin' For the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago" are always played together. It's like Led Zeppelin's "Heartbreaker/Living loving Maid". You don't separate them. You guys missed the bus give time with this reaction!!!🤣🤣

North Texas hill country blues ala: R.L.Burnside...gate mouth brown....etc. love it!
This is why these three men were so darn good.
Oh yes! I forgot about the "prelude" to this song "Waitin' for the bus"! Those two go hand in hand.
I could listen to this kind of music all day.
Should have done waiting for the bus as well!!
Definitely my favorite band since the late 70s.
I saw them in the early '90s in Detroit 6th row Center it was awesome
ZZ Top turned the Blues into Party Music!
It’s a major sin to play this song without waiting for the bus first. May God have mercy on your soul 😅
Asia & BJ, you’ll love their “Legs” !!!
i saw them live with my uncle a few weeks ago it was honestly one of the better shows i went to in my life
Bars “Took a jog through Mississippi Muddy Waters turn to wine” reference to the late great Muddy Waters and his birthplace of Mississippi
Holy cow! How great is this?
Always a deeply moving experience hearing the reverend Billy and the boys....
Howdy from Texas! They our a Texas treasure. RIP Dusty
Y'all check out - Sure Got Cold after the Rain Feel !! It's one of Zz Top's Greatest Ones
Ok this is good for the soul music. Always give us that!
Yeah, double song. Gotta do Waiting for the Bus 1st.
Takes me all the way back to when this album came out when I was an early teen. Classic ZZ

Here for the “shoulda played “waiting for the bus”” first crowd… well ya should have…..
Where's Waiting For the Bus? It was the lead in to this song and were always played together on the radio. Whoever requested just this one song does not get it. Great song but the glass is half empty...
Isn't it great that the boys can do justice to the BLUES....Muddy, BB and Buddy ARE proud ! Peace & Love
Take me with you, Jesus
Really, really hope Jesus took Dusty with him.
You need BOTH songs together "Waiting For the Bus" straight into "Jesus..."
Can't go bad with their blues songs, you can definitely tell the difference in the bass since Dusty played with his fingers and Elwood plays with a pic
You have to do Waitin' on the Bus first that leads into Jesus Just Left Chicago
This entire album is fire.
My turntable wore a rut into album when it came out.
Love seeing a whole new generation becoming zz top fans
You guys should give a listen to an old forgotten song by ZZ Top if you like blues. The name of the song is Blue Jeans Blues.
Definitely fathers of Texas Blues Rock!
Rock and roll began in the black churches along the Mississippi Delta 100 years ago.
It doesn't get any bloozier than this.🤠🎸
Best time period of ZZ Top 🖤
Gotta love them boys from Beaumont!
Zz top is an awesome Rock Band
Coolest song about Jesus,RESPECTthey give
They've got a short but great documentary on Netflix called that little old band from Texas
Check out " heard it on the X"..Country Jesus..hillbilly blues, that's where I learned my links aka riffs.

What happened to Waiting for the Bus?!! 🚌. The Rock Gods are displeased. 🤘
Another great song by ZZ-Top is "Tube Snake Boogie"
Such an amazing band
A reporter to Jimi Hendrix once asked; "What does it feel like to be the greatest guitarist in the world?" Jimi to reporter; "I don't know. You should go ask Billy Gibbons." - true story people.
This band is great!
Sure you heard it before, Jimi Hendrix thought Billy Gibbons was "The future of rock and roll" in 1970.
Guys, I love ta, but You can't do this song without the 1st part "waiting for the the bus," they are linked
Still "Waitin' For The Bus".
Great early days ZZ Top when they still had that blues vibe. They got the shout out to Muddy Waters in there too
Cultural appropriation? Yes, thank you. Give me some more of that in celebration of them and all the artists that influenced them. Why America is great.
Bad ass blues !😊
Ain’t no blues man like a Texas blues man…
Amen!!

The little ol’ band from Texas 👍🏼
You don't have to worry, 'cause taking care of business is HIS name.
The Little Old Band from Texas, can't go wrong.
Try "Sure Got Cold After The Rain Fell" for some soulful, deep, deep, blues.
Check out "bluejean blues" next...please!
some holy fire of texas boogie
Only half the song? On their album Waiting on the Bus and Jesus just left Chicago are one track
I was raised on FANDANGO, Thank You Lord.
Big Oops.....should have done both. Maybe revisit after a year or so.
What most do not realize is that Jesus didn't leave Chicago.....He's just takin' a look around. Make no mistake ......He is watching. God Bless the Wise. Amen.
Love ZZ
They have always been in my top 10, if not top 5....but I ain't gonna rank right now. Feelin too mellow to think that hard! 🙂
Texas blues rock
When I listen to this, all I can think about is a fish fry at Mama T's and going into a food coma,
