Hi John please more details of the smaller cuts. In one video you showed how to cut for drainpipe and that lesson was fantastic. Some of us DIY folk have to do everything by ourselves so setting out ans a step by step guide (for dummies like me )would be invaluable. I am considering relaying our patio and would love to do it myself. I'm 64 years old but have done quite a lot of the garden remodelling already by myself. Would love you to come look at it to price it up with me doing the donkey work/learning from the maestro
Great work. Do you calculate the circumference of the black circle and then calculate the size of each circle piece so they're all the same size or do you make micro adjustments on the size of the black circle pieces.
Thanks so much for this video! Could you say a bit more about what's on the sub base? Did you say you'd laid some kind of concrete pad? If so, how thick, and do you need to add a DPC? I've seen a lot of contractors putting the mortar bed straight on compacted sub base. Is that wrong?
Apologies if this Is a stupid question but in terms of level, how can you tell on the level that it’s the right fall for water runoff? Also, Does the sub-base have to have the same fall as the porcelain patio or do you lay Patio on flat sub base but then create fall with the concrete? Thanks
Hi, the videos have made me attempt my own porcelain patio. So thanks for that. I'm just a bit confused with the base prep. I've built a retaining wall as my garden is on a slope. It's filled with hardcore then MOT type one (compacted) the question is what else should I put on the type 1 before laying? I've purchased some SBR on your recommendation as well 👌
@@GreentopLandscapes hi John, thank you so much for allowing me to call. It will be like speaking to a celebrity 😀. I'm guessing it's the number on your website 01633?
Would you please add a link to show the liquid you add to mortar. Or at least give me the name of what it actually is. I’ve spent hours trying to find one but no luck. Thank you
As silly as it sounds, At some point could you go through how you do you mixes from start to finish? Do you also slurry every patio you lay? From porcelain to sandstone
Looks great 👍

Hi John, great work with these videos! Quick question; Do you leave the PQC for any length of time to set before paving on top? Cheers!
It really as ya out side and there is little cement, I don’t think it would make that much difference

So there's not an obviously different sized piece. Keep up the good work

Did I miss what you used to cut the tiles? I assume a circular saw with a diamond blade? Those curved cuts were perfect, very impressed.
Thanks Chris
Really nice work, will there be a video on grouting this patio.
