Because voltage in UK houses is higher than in the US light switches are outside the bathroom away from any damp or water. it's the same reason we don't have power outlets in the bathroom besides lower voltage sockets specifically for shavers/electric toothbrushes. Not sure but i think its common throughout europe.
I think the only thing I really miss are the before/after pics. Blinds/curtains are great but there was something satisfying about ending a job and you getting to see all that hard work. I think I understand why given it had issues if you built walls or put furniture in weird places but...I mean it was kind of nice :(
all these houses that flippers do (IRL) are all "modern" style. They take all the character away from the old house. I hate it and feel it is a disservice to the history and story of the house. it's truly a shame.
I watched a renovation show where they had these beautiful but time worn old 1950s house by the end they turned them into hideous souless modern houses
yes that dirives me insane! That's why i ike watching Nicole Curtis - she tries to bring life back into those old homes! Wouldn't have it any other way. I like new, but LOVE old. @@Ericshadowblade
It is Danish LEGO is an abbreviation of the two Danish words "leg godt" meaning "play well" so you were close. Foudned in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen and has been passed down through the generations and is now owned ny grandchild. Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen. To be fair people either keep lego or it gets passed down or donated to a charity shop etc so it's not like it is being thrwon in the bin to be disposed of but I see your point :)
Both my bathroom light switches are on the outside too. if they put it on the inside, then one would be on the bathtub wall (like inside the tub area where you shower) and the other inside the closet. There was no where else to put it. Although, if *I* were to configure the bathroom, it would all work perfectly and be placed accordingly. But it is what it is.
I think you can solve the roof and ceiling problem by adding additional bricks into the inside of what you originally demolished then this would create separate foundations and stop the paint and wallpaper bleeding into other areas of the house.
I extended the family room in that house so it wasn’t so skinny!! I have fixed up the outside yet but the mainfloor interior looks great with a sun room off the kitchen. I struggle with the roofing in game…it’s kind of annoying when not in sandbox.
I've been in many hotels that have the switch on the outside of the room right next to the door. I imagine it adds to the longevity of their life. Steam or water in the socket with that much use won't last long and can cause damage

i can't stand houses that do not have overhead lighting. It;s all plug in a lamp and flip the switch lighting. So when I was looking for a home that was a must have! if I had to choose between switches outside the room and no overhead lighting, i'll take the switches....lol
Coming to join the light switch bathroom argument 😂 it's a very European thing. You're not permitted to put a wall nounted switch inside the bathrooms so many homes have cords connected to the ceiling here in the UK
Safety reasons as in you do not go and press an electrical switch in a wet environment and electrocute yourself, the switch is put outside the room or a pull cord is placed inside the room so you do not have to come into contact with the switch with wet hands, we do not have electrical sockets in the bathroom for the same reason I live in the UK, voltage in UK houses is higher than in the US and it is all to prevent accidental electrocution in damp environments

there's on e cabinet in HF1 that i can never find. I always have to go to furniture and scroll thru ALL the furniture to find it as it isn't in any of the logical places. i hate it
