My kit came with a pillow block bearing and an extended pitman arm nut for extra support I reckon. But I feel like the sway bar is going to be in the way
I am not 100% sure on how you could keep the stock skid plate. But if it didn't fit, I don't think it would be hard to modify it to work. I can pull some measurements off of the brace if you need them. Just let me know. Thanks!
Sorry for the no updates. I edited this video about a week after I installed the brace just to field test it some. The brace definitely stiffens up the front. The steering seems more responsive on and offroad.
@@sixfeetunderfab thanks for the answer boss, I was hoping for an update on this because I was looking at getting it my self. Ironman says that if it doesn't actually hold the spline shaft of the gearing box that it doesn't really do anything. Good to hear that this one actually improves the steering.
Thanks for the video! Mint Comanche!
You bet!

did you get the same kit from Barnes4wd that i did?
The gearbox is like the durango?
It’s a PSC box
Will this work with an anyi rock sway bar
I am not sure on that. I don’t see where it would be an issue but I’d definitely call Barnes4wd before you order.
How would you be able to keep the stock skid plate? Barnes4x4 says you can

Hey bud! Great videos! What size is your shop?
its a 30x50 and thanks!
Steering box brace upgraded to a thicker one?
Yes. I believe it’s the Dirt Bound offroad one
Great vid! Will this fit into a stock bumper setup? Thanks
yep, sure will
One more - I just painted mine and unsiezed my sway bar bolts. Did you have to adjust your disconnects after install?
@@alexmagers6595 i didnt
Do you need sway bar drop brackets for this setup?
It depends on your sway link lengths
@@sixfeetunderfab awsome thanks for the heads up 👊🤙
@@nickbarrett3607 absolutely!
Don't run a sway bar like me. The lean on the pavement is fun af anyway
What bumper is that?
0 updates? Was there and actual difference?

Any current update I got a small crack in my unibody and wondered how this held up
Does it work with an antirock sway bar?
my xj is killing itself i’ve been looking around and found barnes4x4 brace would you say it’s worth it?
absolutely worth it. It changed how my MJ drove. steering feels more responsive now.
