I'm not an LS guy so I'm not crazy about that. And I don't like the side back glass without the vent window. What I'd do different is make the rear wheel wells match the front, maybe add metal fender flares like they are putting on newer jeeps with tubing outers if that makes sense and maybe make go electric on the rear window. Otherwise you've built a cool jeep.
I like 4l60s on an appropriate size engine. You're 💯 right about temps. 200- and they'll last 10 years. I made the mistake of upgrading the insides without upgrading the cooler on one; it was the only one I ever lost. I trust it enough to put one on the MJ 😉 Crazy how many similarities this has to the k5. One more thing, if it's a gm gearbox, you might be able to adjust the slop out of it 👍🏻
@@sixfeetunderfab not familiar with that one but,I watched an old guy fix gearbox slop by adjusting the pitman shaft end play. Could be just worn and trying to squeeze another year out of it tho 🤷🏻♂️
Don’t let the purists get you down, I bet 90% of them don’t even realize it started as a narrow track. Your rear wheel wells are the best trimmed narrow track I’ve seen.
RMS and cover alignment is very important on the LS motors. I purchased a cheap alignment tool from SacCityCorvette. I used it on my WS6 when replacing the clutch as a "while I'm in here" thing. They also have a quick YT how to video showing tips on its use. I have the same crossflow radiator on mine. That overflow tank is on my list after the upgraded window motor system. Just got the A/C finished up this summer on mine. Nice cold knees. LS swap naysayers are just jealous since they still are suffering from vapor lock.
Is that Cherokee Louden Green? That's what I painted my '81 [originally blue] Cherokee. Also, I've spent a lot of time rebuilding and re-working the rear tailgate--I hope it works.
I had considered it but I chose not to. I had enough faith in the factory frame knowing that I would be adding sliders and eventually a roll cage that ties into the frame. That would strengthen it up enough for me to
Man your should tell Ryan Hart about the hatch hitting the bumper, that should be clearly advertised on BJ’s website and it’s not as far as I know. Also does your tailgate have the torsion bars to help lift it? They make a huge difference.
My torsion bars were rusty and crusty. So I had to remove them and I also had to replace the section of floor where they attached, so I never bothered with installing them back. I kinda regret that now. But i really think they sent me the wrong bumper. I believe it’s for a J-10.
I love that I get to see it all the time but don't have to deal with a dead battery every 2 days
I forgot to mention that! Whoops!
And that’s why they invented kill switches 😂
Its gets from point A to B. It won't leave you stranded and it'll outlive at lot of vehicles on the road today
Truth!

oh yeah, Its not for everyone but I def need to revisit the rear fenders
Use denatured alcohol on the spots on the drivers door. works great for removing pine tar and other tree sap. Looks great.
I will have to try that. Thanks! 🙏

It’s a Durango steering box, I haven’t looked into tightening it up lol 😂

I’ll look into it for sure. Thanks buddy

I did put a lot of work into sheet metal work and welding to seal up my cuts. That’s the main reason why I haven’t cut them up higher.
And you are correct on that!

Honestly, from what I’ve seen, the LS haters are the ones that aren’t smart enough to do it. lol. Did you do your own LS swap?
Agreed
@@sixfeetunderfab Yep. About 3 years on it now. It's on FSJNetwork under Radio Flyer.
I’ll check that out! Thank you!

I’m not sure the exact paint name or code, to be honest. And yes, these rear hatches are very temperamental haha
Do you regret not boxing in the frame completely? I'm on the fence on my build.
