      All the "Radio Shacks" in Canada (a different company than real Radio Shack) had the TurboGrafx-16 on display at the front of the store running Bonk's Adventure. So I wanted one... but I wanted more games for my SNES or a Genesis more.

Spriggan, Mr. Heli, KiKi KaiKai, Monster Lair, Download 1&2, Dracula X, Snatcher, Ys 1-4, Valis 1-4, Far East of Eden, all of the Kunio-kun games, Gate and Lords of Thunder, I could go on just about forever.

    You missed the major standout of Galaga '90 over the other Galaga games. If you double-ship was captured, and you got it back, you got the new TRIPLE-SHIP!!! (there was also a cheat-code to start with a triple-ship)
    The triple ship was as wide as the double-ship, and shot 3 bullets much closer together, making it much harder to miss what you were aiming at.

It's much more professional (And yet still fun and humerous!), and it no longer sounds like you're giving a book report in school. I really mean that as a positive critique. It's been awesome watching you and Joe get better over the years, and I thought it was worth pointing out. Thanks for another great episode, hope all is well!

    Here's an idea for an episode that you haven't done: Games with companion animals (Donkey Kong Country, Metal Gear Solid 5, Golden Axe, The Last Guardian, classic Mega Man+Rush, Fable 2, Fallout) or AI partners (ICO, Resident Evil 4+5+6, Sonic 2, and Kingdom Hearts). I'm sure that you guys could make that episode one that is funny and interesting. A skit at the end with you trying to unsuccessfuly get your dog or cat to listen to absurd commands that it doesn't listen to would be a perfect touch.

    I made this in Reason back when I knew how to use it. Well I guess I still know how but it doesn't run on my new computer with its new OS and I don't feel like upgrading. I also used Apple's Soundtrack Pro for some of the instruments. Anyway I've always loved Shinji Hosoe's music and Ordyne has music that is worthy of a much better game. This is my arrangement of the stage 1 theme."

    I never knew anyone who had the TurboGrafx 16 growing up, so it seems like I've missed out on a lot of great games. Thanks Game Sack! You've convinced me to pull the trigger and buy one now!

    I love this episode. The 16-Bit generation is my favorite! I've been anticipating the Sega Genesis episode for a long time. I have a feeling it's going to be epic.

    Of course Joe like Ghouls 'n' Ghosts the most, because Ghouls 'n' Ghosts is the best game in that series. Obviously.

    So what you're saying is - if you like horizontal shooters, vertical shooters, isometric shooters, rail shooters, 3/4 perspective shooters, and shooters you didn't even know existed - THIS IS THE SYSTEM FOR YOUUUUU!

      Here, here I concur. Super Ghouls n' Ghosts on the Snes...was good but lacked that special something that the Genesis game has.

    I recall being a TG16 owner early 90’s, such a frustrating time. I had the Genesis too & eventually the SNES but the TG16 was definitely my most wanted to succeed console. The game releases were few and far between but that allowed me to buy a lot because of saving between game releases. Marketing was there early on but eroded quickly as NEC Japan just wasn’t committed. I have and enjoy my TG16 & PC Engine library to this day. So many fantastic PC Engine games were trapped in Japan, now it’s so much easier for gamers to discover and enjoy today. Great vid of a wonderful console and game library.

    Ghouls and Ghosts is better than Super Ghouls & Ghosts? Dem be fighting words Joe. How dare your opinion differ from mine?

      Super Ghouls has too much slowdown and generally moves slower. It has gorgeous graphics and music, however.

    Why do Turbografx games have the shittiest coverarts of all consoles? (Yes, even shittier than Master System games)

    • @digitalintent
      @digitalintent 7 лет назад +1

      One of the reasons my 10-11 year old self passed up on some really amazing games. I would look at the covers and be like "nope, not this one." A shame how horribly marketed and managed the TG-16 was outside of Japan. The PC-Engine covers look so much better.
