ill tell you something about the mini 3 pro,its small makes far less noise than any other drone and i can get quite close to wildlife and birds without scaring them its a fantastic drone.
Well there are drones with optical zoom than you can get much better close ups.The noise isn’t that much different really there are test done to prove that. Also this is too small and you don’t really need high winds.Where i live there’s constant wind warning flying this and I’m not gonna pick a mini ever again.Had not trouble with my old workhorse the Air 2
I own the air 2s. I got it last Christmas. My first drone!. I have ben loving it ever since. The images are shocking good to me.. The only complaint I have is I wish it had tripod mode. if it did it would have ben a killer drone, and the sales for the air 2s would have ben through the roof... I hear that the RC pro will give the air 2s tripod mode but i don't know for sure and if true it would be very expensive at $1.200 bucks for the RC pro controller.. Tripod mode would have made the air2s a true cinema drone...
It does have Cine mode which is very similar to tripod mode. I put it in cine mode all the time to get slower movement when I’m not tracking something but trying to get those smoother establishing shots or more technical shots around obstacles. It works great.
I can't speak on the mini 3 but, Iv owned the mini 1 and 2. Iv owned the Air 2s for well over a year and It's still awesome. I hated getting blown around with the minis and they felt like toys. The Air 2s is solid and does the job. Very well. I don't feel the need to buy the Mavic 3. The Air 3S will be a tough one to turn down though. lol. Great video, Trent.
I’m not tempted by the Mavic 3 at all either. The Air 2S has been great and continues to get me exactly what I need. Excited to see what they offer in the Air 3S if that’s the direction they go. Thanks for watching!
Great video man! I have the air2s I travel a lot and was considering the mini 3 pro for travel. But it isn't that much smaller to downgrade to the mini 3 pro.
Thank you for this and for the excellent video regarding Pt.107. I'm looking for a first drone to supplement my real estate, commercial real estate, builder, architect projects etc. Being as unobtrusive as possible is important to me and I've had a friend use a Air2S over my house and you definitely know it's there. Is a Mini3 Pro that much more unobtrusive and is it good enough for the type of clients I'm looking to serve?
It's definitely both of those things -- less obtrusive, quieter, still high quality image and video. In your situation, go with the Mini 3 Pro all the way!
What LUT are you using at 4:00 in the video for the Mini 3 Pro? This looks a lot more accurate than a lot of the ones I've tried so far. If you can post a link, that'd be rad. Cheers!
I have the air 2s and mavic 3, I think the air 2s is actually built Better, for £1700 for the mavic 3 ( base model ) the plastic feels flimsy and less dense compared to the air 2s, even the arms on the air 2s feel like better quality ( minus the fact that they are thicker) mavic 3 should have been built using better materials imo.
That's pretty crazy considering it's the Mavic line. They definitely built the Air 2S really well and the size is still perfect for everyday carry. I love it.
In that case, you'll want the Mini 3 Pro because it has an option for the remote controller with screen built in. That will be your quickest setup, and I believe you can power on and be up in 60 seconds with that. The Air 2S never came with a RC package.
@Trent Erwin Thanks for your quick reply! I'll look into that. Says you can connect the rc Pro to air 2s however probably more budget friendly to go for the mini Pro considering it comes with it in a package. Thanks for this comparison video. Really helped!
Note: flight times are not nearly the same between the two. Air2s realistically good for 15-18 min for mixed flying, and my older batteries only last 13-14 min. Mini3 good for 25+ min very consistently. Wouldn’t want a noob watching this thinking the battery life is the same between them …
It all depends is what I’d say. My Air 2S batteries still get me consistent 20+ minutes. Then the Mini 3 is going to have poorer performance and reduced flight times in windy conditions, which are pretty frequent conditions for me and others. Also this isn’t a battery and flight time comparison video. Just an aspect of what I was highlighting.
@@TrentErwin Your points are valid and there are many variables which are always important to be mindful of. However, in like-for-like conditions, the Mini 3 Pro does have measurably longer flight time by at least 2-3 mins (sometimes longer), even with the stock battery. If flight time is a major priority (longer hyperlapses etc), the Mini 3 Pro wins hands down once you get the 'plus' batteries. These will give you an EXTRA 15mins in the air over the stock battery. Finally, the fact you can charge the Mini 3 Pro battery in the field (multi-day hikes etc) using any power bank is an excellent feature. Bonus points for using a 30w PD power bank, which will charge the stock battery from 10% back up to 90% in just 30 minutes flat!
@@deevo101 that's a very valid point. It's all situational for sure. If you need to charge a lot on the go and do a lot of outdoor activity or travel, then for sure it's going to be a great choice. And it's going to pack down much smaller. All depends on the need and use cases.
My mini 3 never made it past 22.Usually is does within 18-20 minutes.I live on an island in Greece there’s plenty of wind always. My friends air 2s lasts at least 20 minutes.
That is true. I do recommend people buy for the future too -- invest in a drone/camera that they can use for a few years too come and that they won't outgrow too quick, because ultimately you'll save more by not outgrowing it.
31 minutes with mini pro ? Yeah sure.Where i live never seen it do better than 22 minutes. That thing struggles in barely any wind and drains battery much faster
They are not much different,in the hands of Pro both tools will be Pro, The manufacturers release the marketing to make you believe so you'll empty your pocket, I am worried DJI will increase their mini series when they realise the customers were smart
I see what you’re saying but there’s still a lot of difference between these two. Just holding them side by side and you feel the difference in build, and then the specs aren’t the same for the camera. I am glad DJI is diversifying their product line of drones. There are so many good ones to choose from now for all levels.
@@TrentErwin from my prospective using it for my work, ones in the the air, where it's belong not much of a different , in fact I got my ROI on Mini Pro in two weeks and my clients were happy with it, I am a Professional Real estate photo and videographer, my Mavic 3 pro use up batteries like no tomorrow, eight batteries in one year and I have tried changing using the default DJI and balanced charger

I’d get the Air 2S if you’re planning to shoot a lot of video. The colors and dynamic range are better (imo) and you get more resolution at 5K.

Which is better in obstacle avoidence and durability and wind
Mini 3 Pro slightly better with obstacles and Air 2S much better in wind and durability
