If you are having a computer problem with your edge browser like
* Edge browser does not open when icon is clicked on.
* Edge browser opens and closes instantly
* Edge is missing from the start menu

What can I do to fix Microsoft Edge Browser?
Here is a simple Fix to Reinstall Microsoft Edge Browser to its Default settings.
Step 1: Backup your Edge Browser favorites.
Step 2: Show Hidden files folders and drives - Right click "Start Button" and Open "File Explorer" now Click “View” Tab in File Explorer and check mark “Hidden items”
Step 3: Navigate to C:\Users\Your username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe then "Delete" the “Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe” Folder
Step 4: Open Powershell by Typing “PowerShell” in Windows search. Now Right Click and Run as Administrator.
Then, Copy and Paste this Command in the PowerShell prompt box:
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose}
Step 5: Enjoying using your freshing installed Microsoft Edge Browser, all your issues should be resolved.

When I run GOOGLE I keep getting a message that Edge is not responding and the working circle keeps coming on, even when I'm typing in the search box. Thanks for any help. Never had this problem before MS starting doing updates recently. I believe MS is installing WIN 11 apps.
Thank you, it worked! For those having problems, I'm a dunce when it comes to this sort of stuff, but I'm also not one to be beaten! Here's a tip, hope it helps. My Edge wasn't opening at all on my computer, so I couldn't copy and past the command in PowerShell. I opened the video on my ipad, paused it when the command was on the screen, took a photo on my iPhone (or you could do a screen shot), then I typed in the command. Doing it this way, you can zoom in on the picture of the command (it can be hard to tell where the spaces go otherwise), and you can also see you've got it right by comparing the different colours of what you type against the screenshot. Also, make sure you use the right symbols eg... this ( is different to {. Hope that helps.
I followed step by step (kind of nervously) and this tutorial worked great. A bit fast for me, but that's why we have the pause button, thank goodness! Thanks so much. Back in Edge business.

If you have access denied make sure you have administrator permissions before trying to install the package or delete the folder... worked great for me after Edge would not start.

Thank you for posting this. It just helped me out against a malware that wanted me to click install. even as I keep closing Edge with task manager, the page would return whenever I launch it. This fixed it for me. I am very greatful.

In the powershell i typed in everything accurately but doesnt work all red

For those who get "Access denied" in Windows Powershell, I had same problem and it is fixable in following instructions:
1- First of all, make sure you copy paste the command under "c:\windows\system32> " path! in order to be in the right path, right click on Windows Powershell and choose Run as administrator ; if you left click instead, you'll be in different path.
2- Use this command instead of that one in description: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose}
It is same without space!
However, I couldn't fix my problem with Microsoft Edge which is momentary black screen, but at least my Microsoft Edge is back.

If deleting the Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge file doesn’t work for you, go inside that file, delete everything possible, if not, go inside that AC file and do the steps again until you have no more files left. Then you can delete the Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge file. It worked for me.

Hit Shift and delete at the same time it will delete it no matter what, if says you cant delete microsoft edge.
Shift + Delete doesn't delete "no matter what". What's delete when you press shift goes away instead of being kept in the recycle bin. If something "can't" be deleted it's a question of users' permissions (SystemAppData Properties / Security / Permissions).

:( Today I have tried to reinstall Edge again, three times in a row with no avail, therefore any windows app isn't working either. Microsoft has put emphasis on apps for this OS even more than for 8, yet has screwed up completely.

didn't work. So why not right click on EDGE click on app settings - RESET or Repair
in some versions it does not show reset or repair option
edge is not in the directory however EDGE actually starts some how it aborts.
Where is the Program stored if not in this directory
:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Local\Packages

Hello from 8 years. I followed the steps but after the powershell installation part after pressing enter it doesn't provide any more prompts and just defaults directly to "PS C:\WINDOWS\system32>" and MS edge doesnt install

I had file shredder delete the package , copy and pasted as U did , said it completed the task BUT still cannot get edge to open up. It is like edge has been deleted from PC ..
it says this folder or file can't be deleted because it is open in another program...how to fix that...i am unable to detect which program it is.
Does not work sasdly. There is a problem with this Windows INstaller package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnal or package vendor.
Since my explorer isn't working so couldn't copy and paste that link. It's a bit unclear on my phone, could u advise me, how to restore edge. I deleted from command option. Thank you

that microsoft edge file in appdata dosent get deleted it asks for admin permission after we allow it it shows try again
At the 2:53 mark, where you show the "User Account Contro"l mini-window, after clicking "Run as Administrator," I can't get that mini-window to appear. Also, where did you get the sentence that you copied into the black screen, to start getting Edge re-installed?
