So far my favorite of your builds has been the Sainsbury’s truck. From an accessibility point of view it just feels the most comfortable, especially with the bed. Big Red could give it a run for the money, but I still prefer the layout of the Sainsbury’s truck. While you might feel like you didn’t get much done this week, what you did accomplish are some major feats, that will make the rest of the build go smoothly. Can’t wait for next week’s shenanigans.
If the Sainsbury's get a rear diff lock + a bit of more flex on the rear, it could do 99% of the trails except the extreme ones. I hope their bank account is ready for big red's unstoppable diesel guzzling 😅

Next time when using adhesive sealants, try instead of applying in straight lines. Do it in 100/150mm circles then when you push the board or whatever you are fixing back , acts a bit like a vacuum and sticks in place a lot easier ...give it a go😊
Been away in my van for almost a month travelling around the uk with my new addition Ellie a 15 month rescue Border Terrier. She has a few problems but she has now found her forever home. I am so happy that you are both enjoying your build. It’s looking great guys and the banter improves each week. Jon don’t feel bad that you only have 8inches it’s not about the length it’s what you do with it that counts! Happy days guys.

Another great episode! Staggered at the difference in tape measures! Thought there would be a BSI for that. Raffle is a great idea. Check out Matt Armstrong, as he often raffles cars he rebuilds. Watching from Gran Canaria this morning, where the sun is shining!! 🫠🫠🫠🫠
Even the same tape measure will measure differently as it get used. The rivets that hold the tang (hook) on to the tape are designed to have enough play to account for the thickness of the tang when measuring up to or hooked on to your work. Every time the tape is allowed to retract at full speed into the body it pulls on the rivets, increasing the size of the holes in the tape eventually changing the measurement. You should try a metric only, self locking extra wide tape- brilliant bit of kit for the workshop!!
I do work experience at Trade Centre. I do services, diagnostics and fix any customer problems. I don’t get paid for any work that I do either, as it is ‘Work Experience’ and not an apprenticeship. Luckily I like doing it!
You two bounce off each other so well. Let me tell you, if you think that was a fall out whilst working together, you have nothing to worry about. Like others have said, I think a 4x4 lorry or wagon should be on the cards next. The build will be very interesting, and something with a garage and full side living quarters will be amazing. Yep… battery tools rule 😵💫 I could cry for you over the Landy, it’s such a thing of beauty and you worked so hard to create it, I get when you say you can’t drive them all blah blah I just don’t think anyone else deserves it! I want you to be like Mat Armstrong and just keep adding to your collection! 😤 And I laughed that J has a little handy tape measure in her bag… I have one in my bedside cabinet drawer.. nothing pervy… I just constantly plan home enhancements at random hours of the night and jump up to measure spaces! 😝
The fire truck is a beast, but I was actually very suprised when shown with the Land Rover that it doesn't look much bigger. Coming along nicely. Wish it was a Unimog 😅
Jon love; Jess has to have her own personal tools because there were too many snow angels in Norway. there were too many Friar Tuck haircuts that maybe have caused permanent damage to your tool. Those happy days did a great raffle on their converted van Morgan after getting trolled on eBay. It was great and sold all the tickets. They used Raffall, I think it is a great idea.
Very interesting experiment with Tape Measures, lesson learnt. I just love you two and your hilarious antics in your videos, please don’t change as I’m sure if anyone feels offended they are no longer watching. Jon I respect your attitude in respect of Trainee Hairdresser, yes they should be paid, after all most are not part of a big company. Funny whilst fixing panels you had four cordless drills, which made sense as it saved you time from keep changing “Bits” and made for a smoother rhythm. 😂 Saturday mornings for this 76 year old is amazing, and I even watch the Ads right through as it helps your channel. So although buying a ticket is slim chance of winning I also know the funds are put to great use producing some of the best content on youtube. Good luck with the sale of the Landie. Regarding raffles - Bridge Classic Cars (I'm not affiliated) sell a lot this way, and the majority seem to sell out the number of tickets. But, occasionally all the tickets don't go and the vehicle sells anyway. I don't know all the ins and outs or who takes the hit in that case.
You were going easy on him doing the tape measure test over 500mm! should have done it over a few metres and the difference in the measurements would have been massive! Also those 3D printed things for the router are awesome! i got one for my circular saw and it saved me from having to buy the proper drop saw! Great video guys i am in love with this build!
I love the banter, that was my late wife and me 39 years of glorious love and banter, but that aside you guys are hand down the most professional leisure vehicle builders I've ever seen on RUclips. I think it's the thought you put into things that counts, for me it's your best build yet.
Loved this weeks edition you guys. Great bit of humour to start the weekend off. Really couldn't believe the variations in tape measure lengths. The walls in Big Red look great and impressed with the attention to detail re the rug fixing Jess. Seems ironic that when we guys get total grief for our "trumpet fanfares" yet the girlies get away with it even though they are allegedly more discreet about it.

Great video as always, as for tape measures. I was using a Stanley in the van and a cheap supermarket one on the bench. After cutting 3 pieces of wood short, and double checking measurement, did I discover. The supermarket, started at 1”🫣🤣

I have a cordless microphone as well and bought it for relief😮. No not what you are thinking Jon, but for pain relief. You will be amazed how quick and effective it removes pain in a strain, tendons and neck pain. Next time you have some body pain borrow it. I personally do not like raffles having lost a grand.

Raffles, love the idea of someone who could never afford a camper getting a chance of winning but the reality…..having personally owned a camper & loving it as much as the family dog, it emptied my savings account quicker than any ex just on maintenance & broke my heart to sell before it wiped me clean. You’ll always get the players that are in it to sell it on too. if I’d put in that much hard work on a build I’d want my van going to a good home full of adventures & I think selling it would be a safer bet. Just my opinion ❤
Hitachi do a range of heavy duty equipment Jon, maybe it could be one of those? They do a compact range too which is described as "This compact construction machinery is suitable for construction work in confined spaces or demolition work in urban areas.".

Superb misty autumn morning company. When you're in the public eye raffles are often the best way to protect yourselves from eBay troll bidders. I think they get a bad press from sellers appearing to cash in a higher amount than the actual worth. Many forget about the fees the raffle sites need to charge though. With our pockets being ever more squeezed these days, what better way to thank your supporters than to make your creations affordable for anyone to own? So many of us want you to build us a van, this is the next best thing. ❤

Jon love; Jess has to have her own personal tools because there were too many snow angels in Norway. there were too many Friar Tuck haircuts that maybe have caused permanent damage to your tool. Those happy days did a great raffle on their converted van Morgan after getting trolled on eBay. It was great and sold all the tickets. They used Raffall, I think it is a great idea.

Very interesting experiment with Tape Measures, lesson learnt. I just love you two and your hilarious antics in your videos, please don’t change as I’m sure if anyone feels offended they are no longer watching. Jon I respect your attitude in respect of Trainee Hairdresser, yes they should be paid, after all most are not part of a big company. Funny whilst fixing panels you had four cordless drills, which made sense as it saved you time from keep changing “Bits” and made for a smoother rhythm. 😂 Saturday mornings for this 76 year old is amazing, and I even watch the Ads right through as it helps your channel. Jess I’m so glad you proved the tape measure issue, I found my carpentry measurements were sometimes out just a fraction despite the ‘measure twice cut once’ rule (I have 2 different tape measures) 🙄

Regarding raffles - Bridge Classic Cars (I'm not affiliated) sell a lot this way, and the majority seem to sell out the number of tickets. But, occasionally all the tickets don't go and the vehicle sells anyway. I don't know all the ins and outs or who takes the hit in that case.

You were going easy on him doing the tape measure test over 500mm! should have done it over a few metres and the difference in the measurements would have been massive! Also those 3D printed things for the router are awesome! i got one for my circular saw and it saved me from having to buy the proper drop saw! Great video guys i am in love with this build!

Great video as always, as for tape measures. I was using a Stanley in the van and a cheap supermarket one on the bench. After cutting 3 pieces of wood short, and double checking measurement, did I discover. The supermarket, started at 1”🫣🤣

I have a cordless microphone as well and bought it for relief😮. No not what you are thinking Jon, but for pain relief. You will be amazed how quick and effective it removes pain in a strain, tendons and neck pain. Next time you have some body pain borrow it. I personally do not like raffles having lost a grand.

Raffles, love the idea of someone who could never afford a camper getting a chance of winning but the reality…..having personally owned a camper & loving it as much as the family dog, it emptied my savings account quicker than any ex just on maintenance & broke my heart to sell before it wiped me clean. You’ll always get the players that are in it to sell it on too.
if I’d put in that much hard work on a build I’d want my van going to a good home full of adventures & I think selling it would be a safer bet. Just my opinion ❤

Hitachi do a range of heavy duty equipment Jon, maybe it could be one of those? They do a compact range too which is described as "This compact construction machinery is suitable for construction work in confined spaces or demolition work in urban areas.".

Nice clean cut and zero dust that covers all of the workshop and causing shorts in other electric tools....... So, i consider it as saftey equipement for my other tools 😉

When you're in the public eye raffles are often the best way to protect yourselves from eBay troll bidders. I think they get a bad press from sellers appearing to cash in a higher amount than the actual worth. Many forget about the fees the raffle sites need to charge though.
With our pockets being ever more squeezed these days, what better way to thank your supporters than to make your creations affordable for anyone to own? So many of us want you to build us a van, this is the next best thing. ❤
