The grip test is something I do too. Fun fact, winter tyres are called 'studless tyres' (or the Japanese version of the word which is sutadoresu) here as stud tyres became illegal from the winter of 1990-1991. I arrived in 1991 and I had tyres with all of the studs removed. Finland is absolutely beautiful. Many areas of Japan get heavy snowfall like this and the trees with all of the snow on them are just like what you saw. It is breathtaking, no matter how many times you see it. Some parts of Hokkaido are the only places in Japan where the temperature can drop to -40C and Japan is further south than the British Isles. Loved the last scene - John, you are a nutter. A brave nutter though and a good sport!!

Studded tires are illegal in many countries, mainly in those that doesn't get that much snow, like Germany. In Norway its legal with studded tires between 1 November and mid-April, and some places there is an extra fee to use studded tires.
So, I’m now 4wks in plaster and another 2 to go be for my next appointment and the boredom has really set in so your videos are a welcome sight at the weekend and you both never disappoint. At 18.00 ISH time wise I've travelled around most of the world and extremely love the fact of the memories of cold hot and wet parts of this planet the sun going down and rising in the east and the west thank you so much remember on koh samui the sun rise slowly and took 30 seconds for that sun heat to hit ,.💘

At 18.00 ISH time wise I've travelled around most of the world and extremely love the fact of the memories of cold hot and wet parts of this planet the sun going down and rising in the east and the west thank you so much remember on koh samui the sun rise slowly and took 30 seconds for that sun heat to hit ,.💘
The scenery is beautiful and in the last scene you could see the moon reflecting in the snow...
