The fact Fangio stayed on the list for almost 40 years just shows how great of a driver he actually was
Without adjustment for the different point systems over the years, this is meaningless. The difference between 25 points for a win, and a mere 10 is huge, as is any points for 7-10 finishers. And that is only for the most recent change.
"Without adjustment for the different point systems over the years, this is meaningless."
Also it excludes points that didn't count towards the Drivers' Championship due to the "best X finishes" rules used up to and including 1990 (Clark had to drop 19 points in 1963 alone, and Prost had to drop 18 in 1988).
It rounds up half-point scores, too, like the 4.5 points Prost scored for winning the shortened 1984 Monaco GP (hence his tally being shown as 769 instead of 768.5).
And as if it needed to be further demonstrated how inflated the current points system is:
(1) In 2018 - the last year before the point for fastest lap was reintroduced - Hamilton won the title with 408 points. Nearly the *career* total of Lauda (who drove in 12 full F1 seasons) and Hakkinen (10 full F1 seasons).
(2) Nico Hulkenberg has never finished on the podium, yet has scored 511 points - more than Mansell (31 wins, one world title) and Piquet (23 wins, three world titles)...
It must be normalized!!!
Yes also in some years the win was 9 points not 10
u should check then most race wins rankings
Agreed. Some algorithm that accounts for the various rules needs to be applied to obtain a true reflection of points ratings
Niki Lauda:Finally, I have the most points of any F1 driver ever. Its been a long journey but it's finally don-
Alain Prost:I am speed.
Different point systems... Schumi would have over 3000
Correction:
After AUT 2020: Schumi 3890, Hamilton 3787, Vettel 3170, Räikkönen 2777, Alonso 2740
Michael Schumacher Career points 1,566
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Schumacher
@@sportlab7545 Thats correct, but calculated back to the new point system from 2010 3890 points, everything else is a comparison like between apples and pears. Here a (german) statistic, excluding the double points last race 2014 and the extra points for the fastest laps. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formel-1-Statistik#WM-Punkte
1566 points is mental considering the points system when schumi was active
Senna is the best
Se fosse contado os msm sistema de pontos de hoje pros antigos mudaria muito esse ranking
自分用0:55 1:15 1:26 1:34 1:49 2:04 2:21 3:01 3:56 4:09

Não da pra comparar!
On ne peut pas comparer!! agree with you
deve ter sido dificil fazer um video desse (ou n, n sei) mas o resultado do video fica mto bom
When the point stopped at 610 I stopped the video

Big hopes from Leclerc in the future!
2:56 Mandatory Sadness
Pontuação injusta, pois antigamente o primeiro lugar fazia 9 pontos, e agora faz 25 pontos.... tinha q ser uma pontuação igual desde o começo da F1.
I like your other videos but not this one.
1- This is meaningless....1 win in the 50s = 8 points. 1 win in 2020 = 25 points. How can you compare ???
2- This is wrong....up until 1956, only 4 pilots in the points ?? Non sense !!
How can you make a ranking where Bottas is ahead of Prost or Lauda, Webber ahead of Senna or Ascari, or Barichello ahead of Fangio or Clark ??
Fango in 1950, 1 victory = 8 points.
Hamilton in 2020, 1 victory = 25 points.
What the fuck is this rating about ??
Non sense !!
increible magic alonso
Wrong!!!!! Correct is the following:
1 Michael Schumacher3890,02 Lewis Hamilton3787,03 Sebastian Vettel3170,04 Kimi Räikkönen2777,05 Fernando Alonso2740,06 Alain Prost2470,57 Rubens Barrichello1892,08 Ayrton Senna1859,59 Jenson Button1836,510 Nico Rosberg1737,0

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Schumacher
@@sportlab7545 No, u need to count, using the new point System from 2010...from 1950 to present ....also says even in Wikipedia, If u scroll down
@@sportlab7545 Bro do you watch F1 or not The point system has drastically changed in the past few years the win went from 10 to 25 7-10th didnt get you any points but now it does and anything inbetween also changed
Next
Podium or worldchampion
You do that videos manually, or data is collected automatically?

@@sportlab7545 incredible. What a good job. Congratulations
Muito bom esses gráficos!

I usualy like your ranks videos, mais celui là est débile. Tu aurais du au moins pondérer et rependre touts les résultats avec le même système de points!
Literally pointless I mean yes Lewis would still stay at the top for most career points either way but the standings would be VERY different the points used to be 10 for a win and now they are 25 for a win so
I dont like metal music. Nothing to do with this. Is a shame. But very good idea those and this ranking.
Fail you should of used one points system.
Verstappen los pasara en un futuro
It must be normalized!!!
