I have one that still works and still has the original battery. SIM compatibility is a bit challenging because a lot of modern "SIM" cards are really "USIM only" cards and the phone rejected them. When I put an old Vodafone dual-mode (SIM/USIM) card that was still provisioned with 2G service into it, it worked, and you could make calls and send/receive SMS.

The only reason 1100 stopped selling was they stopped manufacturing it. It would still dominate the market if Nokia releases it with 4/5g compatible bands.
