- I decided to challenge myself by using an 8-meter margin pole in a fishing match at White Springs Fishery! I had to leverage all the skills I've honed over the years to maximize my performance in this match. With limited reach, strategic fishing was crucial for success. Carp are the main target species however Skimmers would also play a huge part within this match.

As most of my fishing is silvers based I've just got my first short kit to use for F1's.
Watching you shining out when feeding with small pots there wasn't much bounce to throw bait out.

Great video as always Mikey. Brilliant match win and a massive congratulations on qualifying for the big money event. Just goes to show how good the guru a glass range is. Great tackle and a great price. Brilliant for thoses like myself on a tight budget. I got one off the pellet waggler rods and a10ft method rod to and there Great. Nice video Mikey.As a pensioner now,i seem to fish a margin pole more regularly now.Where i fish, there's no benefit of fishing long.Nice meat cutter as well, I've had mine more years than I can remember.The best out there and think they are called Tillleys 👍

Great result Mikey. Especially with using short tops plus 1 section. Although I have a 14.5 M Pole which I enjoy using, I do use my MAP 1001 10.2 meter Margin pole most of the time.Being 72 and like @oldishjack beginning to struggle with arthritis showing its ugly head. Keep doing what you are as they are all very entertaining but also great with lots of usefull tips and tricks and most importantly a load of welsh sayings which I enjoy. Well done for the qualification. Cheers

Congratz Mikey . So im after a new pole and was considering an Aventus. I will also need cheap back up pole so was wondering do the A class kits fit the Aventis and visa versa ?

Congrts on the qualifier, awesome job mate. would you think the n10 kaizen would be good for some double corn on the edge im looking a swap of hooks and to test something new, have in consideration that i fish in Portugal and the fish here fight way stronger a kg carp would play you around if you dont step up.
Hello mate, absolutely yes, they are super strong for the gauge of wire, I know the lads used them on the walterland masters on the feeder last year 👌
Nice one great watch do you use spade ends or eyed hooks.
Hi Paul, normally spade but a eyed tied knotless knot is good when using thicker lines

Thanks mate, great day, they are just short kits with a big bore in them, guru have some brilliant ones coming very soon
perhaps im a bit more into comfort fishing these days and it would be a nightmare to fish at 13.5 mtrs on my other pole but im happy with my 8.5 mtr edge monster strong and light is it black hydro elastic you had on and is it used mainly for carp fishing the elastic you use is probably just as important as the line some elastics are more forgiving well done on the win and the qualify and i presume its the 6 days 6 matches again
Hi Chris, ye I had black hydro on my short line there, did have a purple in for the edge tho to subdue them a bit quicker
@@dragonangling Thankyou will give black a try i do like purple had some units on it and got them in ok up at springlea fishery Shrewsbury, theres so me rod pullers there on the method nearly lost the lot in a flash
Congratulation on the win, shame to tops you used cost more than the margin pole, by the time ya put hydro in um. Certainly one of the better margin poles on market. Am I right in saying you have to buy and fit your own sidepuller to them?👍
Hi mate, that margin pole comes with 2 tops that would have been enough on the day, I just like short kits on there as if you let them have to much elastic the go through the gaps in the island. Yes mate you have to put your own side puller in

Yes mate, just the one in the green tin, I used around 5 tins on the day
As it was carp how come you was using short kit instead of long kits ?
Hi mate, I like those short kits for small canal style lakes even for carp, they are a nightmare at white springs for going through the gaps in the island so with the short kits it puts the breaks on them quicker
Would you use the short kits for carp if it was open water

Whatever you do do not use a maver reality margin pole.. they are crap I've spent more replacing topkits than they are worth. They just crumple in the middle of the number 2 section.. every single one as soon as you lift into a fish no bigger than 10l b

@@dragonangling no just the poles break. I bought a ngt pole far better and cost less than half the price... For a good groundbait mix try special g green and dynamite f1 dark with a handful of 2 mm scopex pellets.. put them in dry after g.bait is mixed
