    • @vincent5917
      @vincent5917 3 месяца назад +1

      @@ARCASIAUK I felt that it also helped the midrange to be a bit clearer. It might also depend on your room, but I don't think that the sub is a bad decision. Since the Sub has DSP it allows you to use the "Neumann-Room-Correction (MA1)", which is also a very nice feature. If your on a tight Budget however, the 310s will be totally fine speakers on their own.

    Hi! You have some strong phase cancellation problem in your lows (from 60-90hz), to as much as -9dB, on both speakers. That is because of the position of the speakers in the room (especially the distance from the front wall). The phase cancellation is not correctable by eq/sonarworks even though on the graph it appears that the problem was solved (they have info on this on their own site). So look into it and try to solve it by placing the speakers closer to the wall, then recalibrate them and do the test again. They will sound different. Those bass frequencies are there, they just get cancelled due to the room.

    • @laaaliiiluuu
      @laaaliiiluuu 8 месяцев назад

      Can you also solve this with absorbers or diffusors instead? If not, can you calculate the correct distance to the wall or is it just a trial and error process until it's right?

    • @modern.day.meditations
      @modern.day.meditations 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@laaaliiiluuu The frequencies that are affected are influenced by the distance from the front wall. The bigger the distance, the lower the frequency (longer wavelength). Lower frequencies are extremely hard to absorb, you need thickness and mass. So if you move the speakers closer to the walls the problem moves in the higher frequencies which are much, much easier to be treated with absorbers. By moving the speakers closer to the wall you also get a little bass bump, but that will show up on the graph and IS treatable by EQ.

      Most people who dislike them, didn‘t understand the difference between mixing and producing. The Neumans are one of the best speakers when it comes to mixing. A mix on them sounds good when the mix is good. That is what a lot of people do not understand and talk bad about the Neumanns. On a lot of other speakers they start producing a track and it sounds punchy and fat from the beginning, but later they have to hear the mix on other speakers for reference and start to struggle. It is because the Neumanns have a very flat response. You can see it at data of the fequency curve. That is the point with the Neumann and what makes a great speaker to mix on. It takes about a month or two if you start your first mix on the 310 to understand what is going on. But after you got it, you get great mixes fast if you know how to fix the problems that the mix has. With my old Adams, it was much more difficult to decide what the mix needs to finish it, compression here or eqing the highs and so on. Since the 310 I also do not overload my mix with effect plugins, because I hear what is right or wrong and also the stereofield is incredible good.

    I dig ur videos but honestly for me if I could afford both (@$8000) I would be going with PMC, ATC, Barefoot, or ADAM-S (line) monitors. Definitely an upgrade than this tier of monitor.

    • @axoplanet6081
      @axoplanet6081 7 месяцев назад +1

      ATC is another price range. And you don’t get happy with ATC without a sub for each speaker. A pair of SCM25s plus 2 subs is around 20.000, not 8.000 USD. Barefoot is way more bass heavy and far from a flat mix response. Barefoot are great for producing, but for mixing the KH310 or the KH420 is way better because of the flat response. Adam tweeters are not for everyone and that includes the S lines too, because of the harsh hi frequencies. PMC maybe, but the good ones are in the range of ATC.
