No they are not. Scripture always calls the whole OT the Law of Moses, including the 10 commandments. Jn 7:19 "Didn't *Moses* tell you 'Honory your father and mother.'?"
The 10 commandments have been abolished, it's only that 9 commandments were brought into the New Covenant, and the Sabbath is Old Covenant for the nation of Israel and the Gentiles who joined the nation of Israel. Just as I an American go to France, THERE I am bound by French law.

The Lord already told us that yes, the New Testament Commandments he repeat it but didn't repeat the Commandment of the Sabbath it is written with his own mouth our Lord our main teacher.
So why would you comment on something that never changed but one the Lord is our Sabbath now > we don't do it the old way, well the Gentiles had nothing to do with that in the first place that was only meant for Israelites not us.
What was John teaching what the Lord said showing what the rabbi's added to the Sabbath made all kinds of rules and regulations that had nothing to do with the Sabbath only with their evil ways them hypocrites them control freaks that never even read the Old Testament to know better that's just ignorance
People need to learn a lot about the living book before too many comments get people confused.
(Mark 2:27 KJV) And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
What's that verse mean to you from the Lord'.

It is not binding on Christians because of Christ. Christ didn’t abolish the law but he fulfilled the law and brought a new covenant. Old Testament law and the Ten Commandments are under the Mosaic Covenant.

@Drew Fischer Firstly, the new covenant is stated in Jer 31:31-33 and Heb 8:8-12. Which is basically the law written on our hearts and minds, instead of on stone and in a book.
Secondly, your idea of the word fulfil, does not add up with its biblical meaning, which is to fill up, make full, or perfect. So Christ was sent from the Father to bring His law to its fullness, this is consistent with Isa 42:21.
Thirdly, the Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth Joh 16:13, which is the Word Joh 17:17, the Law Psa 119:142, and the Son of God Joh 14:6. Those who believe in the truth are walking according to its Spirit, and have Him within them Rom 8:1-11, and are sealed with Him Eph 1:11-14, as they have received Him from God because they obey Him Act 5:32.
Grace teaches us to live Godly and righteously, refraining from lawlessness and doing good works Tit 2:11-14. The scriptures are essential in understanding how to live as such 2Ti 3:16-17. God's Law is not to be viewed as restrictions, but as a representation of who His express image, which is Christ. God bless you.

Jesus, John, James, and Paul all upheld the moral 10 commandment law, including the fourth, as the law of liberty. The mosaic law, nailed to the cross, did not contain the 10 commandments inside the ark on stone, which are a replica of the one in heaven even now. Ten commandments including the fourth predated the giving of them to Moses. And in Isaiah 66, where there are not separate Jews, the Sabbath is in effect forever.

So if it all was already written down in the so called Old Testament, you need it to be spoon fed again, in the so called New Testament which did not exist at the time! So if the new day of rest has been instituted, then why in heavens name did this happen?
Act 13:42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.
Act 13:43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of Elohim.

2Co 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the
letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
2Co 3:7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was
in splendor, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the
face of Moses for the brightness of his countenance; which was being done away:
2Co 3:8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be more in splendor?
2Co 3:9 For if the ministration of condemnation be splendorous, much more doth
the ministration of righteousness exceed in splendor.
2Co 3:10 For even that which was made splendorous had no splendor in this
respect, by reason of the splendor that excelleth.
2Co 3:11 For if that which is done away was through splendor, much more that
      which remaineth is in splendor.
Amazingly this is the 1611 original translation from King James: 2Co 3:1 Doe
wee begin againe to commend our selues? or need wee, as some others, Epistles
of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? Do you see the
      word "new testament" there?
Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we
      establish the law.
So!! Was Paul confused? Was he a double agent? Could he not make up his mind?
What is even more amazing is that christians today, makes the exact mistake,
the Israelites made with Moses and the Laws he gave!! They also believed that
they are saved by simply compounding
their sins and make an offering of some innocent animal and that this could
save them!! They will do the same sins over and over again and simply
slaughtered another animal……so is Y’shua treated today!!
Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the
commandments of Elohim, and the faith of Yahshua.
      Another confused disciple?
There is a whole world of knowledge out there and you have no idea of any of
      it!!
Cult? No!! I escaped the most dangerous cult ever!! I never denounced my
family and friends, but they did denounce me!!
I am not isolated now, I am free to live my faith in every way I need to.
Next time, I will show you how you changed the ten commandments and made it nil
and void!! AND TEACH THE WHOLE WORLD THAT IT’S OKAY!!
FINALLY: Is the sun shining? Are the stars and the moon out at night?
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law,
or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
      Mat 5:18 For
verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall
in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

The 4th Commandment is part of the Moral Law and has always been binding to Christians through today. But on this side of the institution of The New Covenant, that Sabbath rest has been fulfilled for us by Christ, and we observe it in Christ by resting in Him. So the principle of the Sabbath observance is still in effect and binding upon people, and after the cross and resurrection and ascension of Christ the only way anyone keeps it is by putting ones faith in and resting upon the work of Christ.

Is it against the law for a Christian to keep the Saturday Sabbath? Yes!
Constantine was a devout sun worshipper and a shrewd politician and his plan was to unite paganism and Christianity to strengthen his disintegrating empire. Constantine knew that pagans throughout the empire worshiped the sun on “the first day of the week,” and that many Christians especially in Rome and Alexandria had switched to Sunday to avoid persecution. So Constantine developed a plan to unite both groups on the common platform of Sunday keeping. So on March 7, 321 A.D., he passed his national Sunday law.
Those claiming that the Sabbath was moved to Sunday say it is also the Lord's Day despite scripture revealing the Sabbath to still be on the day we call Saturday. Lucium who was an early church historian exposes this lie also, as he wrote it was in the fourth century when Christians begun calling Sunday the Lord's Day and of course against the will of God.
In 330 A.D., Constantine moved his capital from Rome to Constantinople preparing the way for the Roman Catholic Popes to reign in Rome as the successors of Constantine. As the Roman Church grew in power, it opposed Sabbath observance in favour of Sunday sacredness and made the day change official in the Council of Laodicea (A.D. 363-364). So Constantine’s law resulted in the final change of the Sabbath to Sunday.
Around 364 AD, the Roman Catholic Church outlawed resting on the Sabbath in the Council of Laodicea when they decreed 59 Canon laws. Here is the final law.
Canon XXIX: “Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord’s Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ.” (Percival Translation).
Peter gave us wise advice concerning whether to obey GOD's laws or men: Acts 5:29 - But Peter and the other apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than men.
As for me and my house we serve the LORD! Not Constantine, not some pagan dagon hat wearing false prophet!
YeHoVaH's (GOD's) Sabbath was is and always will be the Seventh Day!

I never cease to wonder why the Adventists spend so much time propagating abt the shabbat rather than teaching the Gospel of our Christ who is Himself the Shabbat (Rest). The Holy Bible does not say that the Shabbat is a day of Worship, not at all. Rather it is a day of Rest.. When you worship you are actually DOING something, and that's contrary to what you are commanded which is ''Do Nothing''
This then leaves worshipping for us to choose which days of the week to do it including Sunday, Monday, Tuesday etc etc. .
Now I am Gentile and in our prophetic church we choose to worship on Sunday and two more services midweek.
Our choice of Sunday has nothing to do with what a Catholic Pope did or did not do, nor what he decreed or did not decree. Rather we choose it bcoz it's day of resurrection of our Lord Yahushua from the grave after His crucifixion. Even then when we worship on Sunday we are not so mindful of the 'Day' itself unlike the Shabbatans who are so fixated and engrossed with the 'Day' itself...no no no, we are only fixated on Christ our Lord bcoz He alone is the 'Object of our Faith' and that's where we're focused with all our oneness of mind, spirit, soul and strength. For us the 'Day' of worship itself is really inconsequential, which is quite unlike you Sabbathans who are so engrossed with the Day that you are always posting endless videos on RUclips with the Sabbath as your subject of teaching or discourse.
We don't do that. Jesus says:
I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one cometh unto the Father but 'by me:...Note He does not say 'by Sabbath' or 'by Law' or 'by circumcision', not at all. He alone is the object of our focus, our Faith, our Salvation.
    Anything else is a destraction.
    Shalom🔥🔥🔥

Hello vernon. Sabbath is like all the other commandments, important. It's not more important *or less important.* Jesus said:
"Enter by the *narrow gate* for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. *Because narrow is the gate and difficult* is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. *Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing* but inwardly they are ravenous wolves." He goes on to say, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who *does the will of My Father* in heaven. *Many* will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who *practice lawlessness!’*
Practicing lawlessness is the reason believers in Jesus will still go to hell. They believe he is Lord but they do not obey his (God's) laws.
The saints are defined in Revelation as:
"Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus."
Saints not only have faith in Jesus they also *keep the commandments of God.* This is why Jesus said: "Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing." False teachers will tell you keeping God's commandments (like Sabbath) are not important for salvation, perhaps that keeping them is even trying to earn salvation. They will tell you that keeping the commandments is 'work' when really keeping the commandments is *obedience* to the Lord we serve. *You are the servant of whomever you obey.* God's commandments/ laws are obeyed by the saints. This is why they make videos about the sabbath. Blessings in Yeshua.

Thank you for your response to the Sabbath Article. I am not a scholar by any means, but it seems that people really struggle with the Word of God. So many opinions on scripture and what it truly means. I grew up a pastor's kid in a Southern Baptist Church and always felt close to God, but it wasn't until the past few years that I began to read and truly study scripture as if it really was the Word of God. And you know what? I fell in love and it has changed my life. I have hopefully become a better husband, a better father, a better friend, a better man and better believer. I fully understand that I have been bought with a heavy price and saved by Grace alone, but that being true where do I go from here. I personally just want to be more like Jesus. He said "if you love me then keep my commandments" and that is what I want to do. I want to use His life as my example. If he celebrated the feasts then I want to celebrate the feasts. If he worshipped on the Sabbath then I want to worship on the Sabbath. It really doesn't matter what other people think or say. It personal. It's a relationship. Sounds so simple doesn't it? I love talking about what God has done in my life and my challenge is always the same. Read God's Word. Read it like it REALLY is God's Word and let God do the changing. You will never be the same again.Your Brother in Christ

If you keep the Sabbath as a law you're in trouble. Romans 3:20 - "Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God's sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin." If you want to be justified by keeping one law you must keep all of the law. If we're talking about it's right to keep the Sabbath and it's wrong not to, and you argue you're right in God's sight if you keep it and wrong in His sight if not you're under the law. God does not justify by the law, He justifies by Grace through faith that's why Jesus died on the cross so that we can be justified by Grace since no-one can keep the law. If you're talking about keeping the Sabbath out of love for the Lord and to sanctify the day in the Holy Spirit then we're moving towards grace. Every day should be a Sabbath for a child of God. Dedicating each day to Him for His glory.

Nobody believes in keeping the Sabbath-or any command, for that matter-in order to be justified. But all orthodox Christians agree that we must obey God's commandments as redeemed people who have been saved by grace through faith. It's utter heresy to discourage Christians from obeying God's commandments, and MacArthur agrees with that. The only difference between me and MacArthur is, like Jesus and the apostles, I'm merely affirming the Sabbath as one of those commandments we ought to keep as Christians.

I will listen to Yeshua's words over John MacArthur or any other man.

Thanks Tinah Brown for quoting the Gospel of Matthew 5: 18-19. If we read from Matthew 5, verse 17, Jesus himself said that He did not come to destroy the law or the prophets but to fulfill. I'm wondering how John MacArthur would account for that. Also in Revelation 22:14, John calls those who do the commandments of God blessed, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter into through the gates into the city.

It is often claimed that “God instituted the Sabbath in Eden” because of the connection between the Sabbath and creation in Exodus 20:11. Although God's rest on the seventh day (Genesis 2:3) did foreshadow a future Sabbath law, there is no biblical record of the Sabbath before the children of Israel left the land of Egypt. Nowhere in Scripture is there any hint that Sabbath-keeping was practiced from Adam to Moses.
The Word of God makes it quite clear that Sabbath observance was a special sign between God and Israel: “The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested” (Exodus 31:16-17).
In Deuteronomy 5, Moses restates the Ten Commandments to the next generation of Israelites. Here, after commanding Sabbath observance in verses 12-14, Moses gives the reason the Sabbath was given to the nation Israel: “Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day” (Deuteronomy 5:15).
God's intent for giving the Sabbath to Israel was not that they would remember creation, but that they would remember their Egyptian slavery and the Lord's deliverance. Note the requirements for Sabbath-keeping: A person placed under that Sabbath law could not leave his home on the Sabbath (Exodus 16:29), he could not build a fire (Exodus 35:3), and he could not cause anyone else to work (Deuteronomy 5:14). A person breaking the Sabbath law was to be put to death (Exodus 31:15; Numbers 15:32-35).
An examination of New Testament passages shows us four important points: 1) Whenever Christ appears in His resurrected form and the day is mentioned, it is always the first day of the week (Matthew 28:1, 9, 10; Mark 16:9; Luke 24:1, 13, 15; John 20:19, 26). 2) The only times the Sabbath is mentioned from Acts through Revelation, the occasion is Jewish evangelism, and the setting is usually a synagogue (Acts chapters 13-18). Paul wrote, “To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews” (1 Corinthians 9:20). Paul did not go to the synagogue to fellowship with and edify the saints, but to convict and save the lost. 3) After Paul states, “From now on I will go to the Gentiles” (Acts 18:6), the Sabbath is never again mentioned. And 4) instead of suggesting adherence to the Sabbath day, the remainder of the New Testament implies the opposite (including the one exception to point 3, above, found in Colossians 2:16).
Looking more closely at point 4 above will reveal that there is no obligation for the New Testament believer to keep the Sabbath, and will also show that the idea of a Sunday “Christian Sabbath” is also unscriptural. As discussed above, there is one time the Sabbath is mentioned after Paul began to focus on the Gentiles, “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ” (Colossians 2:16-17). The Jewish Sabbath was abolished at the cross where Christ “canceled the written code, with its regulations” (Colossians 2:14).
This idea is repeated more than once in the New Testament: “One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord” (Romans 14:5-6a). “But now that you know God - or rather are known by God - how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and years” (Galatians 4:9-10).
But some claim that a mandate by Constantine in A.D. 321 “changed” the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. On what day did the early church meet for worship? Scripture never mentions any Sabbath (Saturday) gatherings by believers for fellowship or worship. However, there are clear passages that mention the first day of the week. For instance, Acts 20:7 states that “on the first day of the week we came together to break bread.” In 1 Corinthians 16:2 Paul urges the Corinthian believers “on the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income.” Since Paul designates this offering as “service” in 2 Corinthians 9:12, this collection must have been linked with the Sunday worship service of the Christian assembly. Historically Sunday, not Saturday, was the normal meeting day for Christians in the church, and its practice dates back to the first century.
The Sabbath was given to Israel, not the church. The Sabbath is still Saturday, not Sunday, and has never been changed. But the Sabbath is part of the Old Testament Law, and Christians are free from the bondage of the Law (Galatians 4:1-26; Romans 6:14). Sabbath keeping is not required of the Christian-be it Saturday or Sunday. The first day of the week, Sunday, the Lord's Day (Revelation 1:10) celebrates the New Creation, with Christ as our resurrected Head. We are not obligated to follow the Mosaic Sabbath-resting, but are now free to follow the risen Christ-serving. The Apostle Paul said that each individual Christian should decide whether to observe a Sabbath rest, “One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind” (Romans 14:5). We are to worship God every day, not just on Saturday or Sunday.

God promised blessings to *Gentiles* who keep the Sabbath. I want the promises He made! :D
"Blessed is the *man* (not just the jewish man) who does this, and the son of man (not just the jewish ones) who lays hold on it who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and keeps his hand from doing any evil.”
      Amen God!
"Do not (DON'T) let the son of the foreigner (gentile) who has joined himself to the LORD (that means gentile believers) speak, saying, “The LORD has utterly separated me from His people” (Don't say, "I'm separate from Israel.")
"“Also the sons of the foreigner (that means gentiles) who join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants (that means gentile believers)--- Everyone (that means everyone, gentiles too) who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and holds fast My covenant- Even them I will bring to My holy mountain,
and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for *all* nations (all nations, not just blood Israel)."
These are millennial promises that have not yet been fulfilled. Burnt offerings, sacrifices, on His altar, in His Kingdom from all nations. This has never happened. It is for *everyone* who keeps from defiling the Sabbath and holds fast His covenant. We (gentiles who have joined themselves to the Lord) are not to say we are separate from Israel. Paul reiterates all of this when he said we are no longer strangers to the covenant(S) of promise. Sabbath is a covenant of promise! Paul said we are no longer foreigners, rather we are fellow citizens of Israel. Grafted in. One Shepherd, one flock! HalleluYAH!

However for him to blaspheme the Bible by devoting whole sermons to arguing with God how Sunday is now the day for Christian worship, is very over the top. In these sermons, he argues eloquently while using his words and almost no scripture, and twisting what little he uses. It definitely IS NOT the law that must be dealt with it is our hearts towards Yah the Father. Either we believe the Father or we don’t. It was the Father that worked out HIS plan of salvation through the man Messiah (as he walked the earth prior to dying) Yahshua or not. People say they follow Yahshua and live like he did but they don’t. We can’t throw out the basics, we must learn them and keep them. When we no longer need a tutor it is because we learned to do the task at hand by ourselves. Obviously we need the Spirit of the Father to help us and keep HIS ways. Anyone speaking contrary is not of the Father. So saying Yahshua said it’s ok not to do the Father’s will….well that would mean he was not in accordance with the Father and make him a false prophet, Messiah etc.

During the time of Christ and the early church, the Sabbath was never an issue. Subsequently, Catholicism made it so by imposing Sunday keeping, as paganism was integrated into their dogma.
Because a new day began at sundown, and Paul preached until midnight, it's safe to determine that the Acts 20:7 meeting began after sundown Saturday, which began Sunday.

  • @organicskincare

The sabbath is for man and was made solely for our rest. Jesus is the fulfillment of the sabbath and all who are in Jesus are in a permanent rest.
We are in a NEW covenant with better promises. The old covenant sabbath was a type and shadow of Jesus. Sabbath keeping is no longer needed as we now are in Jesus with a perpetual state of rest!
This could be the main reason sabbath keeping was never commanded in the new covenant.

Just because there is a church service on Saturday, does not mean you are observing the sabbath. You are just having church on Saturday. If people want to get specific, the church (body of Christ) met every day in the synagogues, not just Saturday. New Testament worshippers were worshipping on Sunday since Christ rose from the dead which clearly was before March 7, 321.

David, you got Colossians 2:16 wrong. The Sabbath in Colossians is not the fourth Commandment. It's talking about the seven sabbaths that were part of the festivals that could fall on any given day in Leviticus 23.
If one of those Sabbath festivals fell on the 7th day it was called a High Sabbath.
These Sabbaths were Shadows of things to come.
The seven Sabbath's that prefigured Christ were nailed to the cross.
The meat or drink was meat and drink OFFERINGS dealing with a sacrificial system.
A lot of people think that's the green light to eat pork.
I can't believe how many Christians don't understand Colossians 2:16
I'm a Jew for Jesus and I remember as a youngster those 7 Sabbaths would fall.

The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we [the Catholic Church] never sanctify.”
Again, “The Catholic Church, … by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday” (The Catholic Mirror, official publication of James Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893).
“Protestants do not realize that by observing Sunday, they accept the authority of the spokesperson of the Church, the Pope” (Our Sunday Visitor, February 5, 1950).
“Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change [Saturday Sabbath to Sunday] was her act... And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical authority in religious things” (H.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons).
The Catholic Church claims that “the church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact” (Catholic Record of London, Ontario Sept 1, 1923).
    What a shocking admission!
    A Prophecy Come to Pass!
At this point we need to note an amazing prophecy. Daniel 7:25 foretold, “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws.” Quoting Daniel 7:25, Adam Clarke’s Commentary on the Bible says:
“He shall speak great words against the Most High] Literally, Sermones quasi Deus loquetur; “He shall speak as if he were God.” So Jerome quotes from Symmachus. To none can this apply so well or so fully as to the popes of Rome. They have assumed infallibility, which belongs only to God. They profess to forgive sins, which belongs only to God. They profess to open and shut heaven, which belongs only to God. They profess to be higher than all the kings of the earth, which belongs only to God. And they go beyond God in pretending to loose whole nations from their oath of allegiance to their kings, when such kings do not please them! And they go against God when they give indulgences for sin. This is the worst of all blasphemies!
And shall wear out the saints] By wars, crusades, massacres, inquisitions, and persecutions of all kinds. What in this way have they not done against all those who have protested against their innovations, and refused to submit to their idolatrous worship? Witness the exterminating crusades published against the Waldenses and Albigenses. Witness John Huss, and Jerome of Prague. Witness the Smithfield fires in England! Witness God and man against this bloody, persecuting, ruthless, and impure Church!
And think to change times and laws] Appointing fasts and feasts; canonizing persons whom he chooses to call saints; granting pardons and indulgences for sins; instituting new modes of worship utterly unknown to the Christian Church; new articles of faith; new rules of practice; and reversing, with pleasure, the laws both of God and man.-Dodd” (Emphasis his; Clarke’s Commentary on the Bible, Volume IV, p. 594).
Who Changed the Sabbath to Sunday?
Your Bible says, “But in vain [uselessness] they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:9; Mark 7:7).

Further, “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word [the Bible], it is because there is no light in them” (Isaiah 8:20).
“Prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the Catholic Church alone. The Catholic Church says, by my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week. And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the Holy Catholic Church” (Thomas Enright, CSSR, President, Redemptorist College [Roman Catholic], Kansas City, MO, Feb. 18, 1884).
“The Pope has power to change times, to abrogate laws, and to dispense with all things, even the precepts of Christ. The Pope has authority and has often exercised it, to dispense with the command of Christ” (Decretal, de Tranlatic Episcop).
It is a matter of Biblical and secular history that God never changed His holy Sabbath or transferred its solemnity to Sunday. Who did?
Rome, in concert with the Roman Catholic Church, changed Sabbath to Sunday!
What will you believe? Whom will you follow? The God of your Bible-or the traditions of men?
The choice, dear reader, is yours.

All you wanna be scholars are majoring in the minors and not majoring in love. Everyday is a day of worship. It is a lifestyle. Corporate worship can be Saturday based on the law, and Sunday besed on Jesus resurrecting on Sunday. Stop being a know it all, and worship God in spirit and truth. Personally I love my Sundays.

@@michaelwilliams5395 you can love your Sundays and worship any day you please, no one should deny that. However, The Most High only sanctified/ set apart one day and gave a command to remember it and keep it holy/set apart. This does not say you can not worship on any day but your doing so does not give you permission to ignore a commandment concerning His Sabbath.

It was then that I noticed, on the suggested related videos to the left, your video! I felt restored after watching your rebuttal. By the way, it was likely that even Adam was worshipping on the Sabbath. And also, do you remember that Noah sent a raven out and then, 7 days later a dove? And again, 7 days later another dove? Doesn't that suggest he also, was a Sabbatarian? Shalom

First off I would like to make a point that if we are going to talk about the Sabbath that we are referring to it in it's proper context. This was NOT a command about when we should worship, it was about resting. So let's be clear about that from the get go. If we are going to make this about what day we come together to worship, please provide scripture that shows that this commandment was about when Israel or the New Testament church was supposed to meet for corporate worship. In my understanding of scripture there was not or ever has been a scripture to support the argument that coming together for worship needs to be done on the Sabbath. With that being said Jesus Himself broke the Sabbath, yet we know He was without sin. And you can review this for yourself in John 5:17-18. Not only did Jesus admit that He and the Father are "working until now" which "now" on that particular day was on the Sabbath, but also in verse 18 it says that Jews were seeking to kill Him because he was breaking the Sabbath. From these 2 verses alone I believe strongly that this is one of the commandments that have not carried over into the new covenant because the Lord Himself did not keep the Sabbath as evidenced in His own words that He was working on the Sabbath, both He and the Father. Enter into His rest when it comes to keeping the ceremonial laws, but the laws that Jesus does mention that are from the heart, and that the New Testament apostles tell us to observe then we should observe them. Although-wise I would charge you with having to keep all of the law, and all of the ceremonial, and sacrificial laws from before the new covenant apart from grace through faith in Christ Jesus. God bless you, and I pray that the Lord would lead us to His everlasting truth.

Yeshua (Jesus) never broke any laws of the Torah. He broke man made laws (takanot). He was without sin and faultless. First century believers more than likely met in each others homes throughout the week, but they came together on Shabbat in the Temple or synagogues to hear The Scriptures being read. Only a very wealthy person had their own scrolls to read from.

Alex Marinaccio Messiah never broke Sabbath! Also, what is work? Is walking to get food work? Working for income is allowed six days a week. Work for ministering to people is daily and acceptable. That is doing good. But if you are making money on Sabbath, that is evil as Nehemiah 9 says. Whoever profanes the Sabbath is to be put to death. Do you think that is an idol statement? How about homosexuality? Read the red letters before read the apostle letters. Also. Read Torah before reading the Besurah (good news of Messiah). Matthew 7:23 says depart from me you Torahless (lawless). Sin is transgression of Torah (law) 1 John 3:4. The Torah is good, set apart and just as Shaul says. What book are reading. Finally, why should we care what some pagans who pretended to be apostle wrote? They were the founders of the Roman religion.

Luke 4:16 tells us "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read." This tells us quite clearly that it was Jesus CUSTOM. To attend the synagogue on the Sabbath day.

I have to just say that your thinking is not very clear. If Yeshua broke the Sabbath, he is not our Savior and He is not our God. The Pharisees accused Him of being in league with the devil--was he? Had Yeshua abolished any law in order to break it, it would have had to be either, prophesied or announced by the Father through Him--neither happened. You should know that God explicitly states that He will do nothing without first informing His prophets.
If you believe that the God of the universe, i.e. the Father and the Son, are restrained by a command for men, you are obviously mistaken. When God proscribes certain sex acts, the command is for man, not God--they are irrelevant to Him. Yes, Yeshua and the Father "work", their work is holy work, which, you should know is allowed on the Sabbath. The priests do God's work on the Sabbath. Preachers, teacher, missionaries, evangelists do God's work on the Sabbath--you don't think serving God on the Sabbath is prohibited, do you?
I grow weary of people speaking about Jesus' law as a better law because it was from "the heart". Come on, let's be sincere. All sin, whether in the mind, heart or physically manifested is...sin. Yeshua didn't abolish the law against bestiality, murder, stealing, etc. because they were "only" physical manifestations of sin! By-the-way, Jesus is the law giver of Exodus! These are His holy commandments. I get the feeling sometimes that some Christians don't take Jesus' too seriously. Who do you think spoke at Mount Sinai? Created the world? Destroyed the world with the flood?
How is it that God is supposed to have "brought over" His laws from the so-called "old testament"? God's laws are laws until he explicitly nullifies them. Do you think God's ways and nature changed, that he would just leave us to guess what His holy commands are? That is not the God of the Bible--His character would have to have changed!

      Hi Tobi,
Yes, we worship the L-RD our G-D everyday. However, there are appointed times that He expects His people, whether they are Jewish or not, to assemble when He says. It is a matter of obedience. Read the five books of the Torah and you will see that there is no where in scripture that any commandment is called Jewish. The L-RD identifies His appointed times (moedim) as HIS. So ... each of us has a choice. We obey The L-RD or we obey/go along with man. If you do as Yeshua / Jesus did (obey scripture, alone), you will encounter condemnation, exclusion, etc. ... just as He did. Just remember what Yeshua said, 'the servant is not greater than his Master'. So, choose you this day who you will serve and know this - from the time of Christ's ascension until now, His enemy, Satan, has been warring against those who would follow the commandments of G-D. Those who come against you are, whether they know it or not, Satan's unknowing agents. ALWAYS, to the point of death, obey the G-D of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Answer back if this isn't clear. I'm getting ready for the Sabbath ;-)

Liora Jimenez Hi Tobi, This is a great example of how the messanic types misquote scripture out of context to try to persuade you that you are under the Torah. This partial quote is from John 15 and has to do with the religious Jews persecuting the disciples. It is all about the disciples understanding why they too will be persecuted just as Jesus was persecuted. It has nothing to do with following the Torah. Here is the passage in context: 15:19 If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. 20Remember the word that I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they kept My word, they will keep yours as well. 21But they will treat you like this on account of My name, because they do not know the One who sent Me.…
This has nothing to do with the disciples following the Torah! In fact, the religious Jews were persecuting Jesus for breaking the Sabbath. See John 5:18 Because of this, the Jews tried all the harder to kill Him. Not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He was even calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.
So this is a great example of how these folks are taking scripture out of context which leads to completely wrong doctrine. Beware and Be Blessed.

(John Roper) I see that you read and interpret Scripture as well as you do posts; which is obviously NOT very well! Yeah, I hope that you've got clean feet, because you're about to stick your proverbial foot in your mouth! Yes, you felt the need to criticize Liora for citing of John 15, supposedly in an attempt to support "following the Torah"; when, IN FACT, she citied that passage to support EXACTLY WHAT YOU CLAIMED THE PASSAGE WAS ABOUT! Which, in case you forgot, was this:
_"It is all about the disciples understanding why they too will be persecuted just as Jesus was persecuted"_
Yeah, it seems that you missed why Liora cited John 15, which was this:
_"you will encounter condemnation, exclusion, etc. ... just as He did"_
So, hey, maybe you should apologize to her for your unfounded criticism?
And, oh, as for the Scripture that you also don't understand? I was referring to John 5:18! Yes, here's another news flash for you, John:
*The Messiah NEVER broke the Sabbath!*
No, on the contrary, the only things He violated, and deliberately so, were the MAN-MADE rules added to the Sabbath! And, that's what John 5 is referring to, when it speaks of the Messiah "breaking the Sabbath". And, ironically enough, you can indirectly read about how the Messiah was FALSELY condemned and hated, in John 15!
John 15:10 NKJV If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as *I have kept My Father's commandments* and abide in His love.
John 15:25 NKJV But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, *'THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE.'*
Did you catch that? They hated Him WITHOUT A CAUSE! And, He KEPT the Father's Commandments!
      And, oh, one more thing:
I found it a bit strange to hear you say how us "messianic types" are trying to persuade people to be under the VERY THING that supposed to be written on their hearts!
Jeremiah 31:33 TLV “But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days”-it is a declaration of Adonai- *“I will put My Torah within them. Yes, I will write it on their heart.* I will be their God and they will be My people.

But we are created for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them”. We were created to do good works. That means to keep the Law. Saturday is clearly the true Sabbath. Sadly, John MacArthur argues like a lawyer (looking for flimsy arguments to justify his false beliefs in Sunday worship). We all know that in order to reveal Biblical truths we must examine doctrine with sword of truth and not accept doctrine because of our habitual Sunday presupposition. The truth can hurt and it can cause incredible disruption. Martin Luther caused a major disturbance in the church because he revealed The Biblical truth of Salvation by Faith. The commandments were written in stone for a reason. I will pray for JM and others to realise the importance of the one true Sabbath.

    SABBATH means REST
Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you REST!
Hebrews 4:4 "For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, and GOD did REST the seventh day from all his works."
Hebrew 4:9 "There remaineth therefore a REST to the people of God."
what kind of rest? spiritual, not physical. all days, not just 1 of 7. the Sunday is not a Sabbath, and the Christians don't worship the sun, like you who do not worship Saturn on Saturday!
we (the Christians) are the spiritual descendants of Abraham. the sign is the circumcision, and we are circumcised, spiritually not physically! Philippians 3:3 "For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh." Just look what Paul said in Philippians 3:4-9 and think about it.
In the same manner, the Christians entered the REST, the Sabbath in that day they accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour! but this REST is spiritual, not physical.
You link the 7th day of Creation with the 7th day, the day of Sabbath given to the Jews,, but in Hebrews chapter 3 and 4 is so clear that the link is between 7th day of Creation and the REST given by our Lord Jesus! "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear!"
    God bless you people!

You can go to church any time and any day if you really love Christ Jesus. But if you make sabbath keeping as a strict law as in the old covenant, then you are heretic. We do not judge Adventists or anybody keeping the sabbath if they do it out of genuine love for God and that they continue to love Him the following 6 days.
The Old Covenant also says " Six days you shall work". So sabbath keeping people are obligated to work 6 days! Please do not forget you are also commanded to work 6 days!

Luke 4:16 answers the question, " where does it say worship was a part of the Sabbath rest" . We know that it was jesus custom to worship on the Sabbath. "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read."

Hey David, I don't know if this was already addressed in the comments, but MacArthur's use of Acts 20:7 is simply a bad translation. In the Greek it clearly says that they were meeting on "one of the Sabbaths" not on the "first day of the week" as it states in nearly every version of the Bible. What's your take on this? Thanks.

If you are a Jew, then I understand why the Sabbath is so important to you. But if you are a Christian and still defend the Sabbath, you have yet to grasp the essence of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yours is a works-based gospel. You reject the finished work of Christ, which is salvation by grace.

I was very impressed with your very logical and scriptural reasoning. You explained these texts correctly in their proper context. By the way, using the complete context of a passage is one of the cardinal rules one must obey to correctly interpret scripture.
You missed saying that, but used that rule anyway! Excellent. Most of the mistakes people make when using a scriptural text to support their ideas and beliefs is this one rule I just mentioned. Too bad they don't know how erroneous will be their conclusions without knowing and obeying all the rules of scriptural understanding.
On topic: In the old testament, Christ assures his obedient children that he gave the Sabbath as a way to sanctify them. It was to be an eternal sign of a binding loving relationship between Christ and mankind. It was created at the Creation of this world and Jesus tells us by John in Revelation that it will be observed forever even after the earth is made new. Seems the Sabbath is very important to Christ and to his followers forever.

Also we will not be working at jobs but will be involved with whatever God has in mind for us. We have trivial views of what the hereafter is about.

Taken as a whole, the New Testament is unequivocal in its support for the Christian observance of the Biblical sabbath, which ran from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday.
For example, expecting sabbath observance to continue until the end times, Jesus - the Lord of the Sabbath (Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:28; Luke 6:5) - told his disciples to pray that, when they see the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place, their flight not be on a sabbath (Matthew 24:15-20).
In Acts 13:42-48, jewish and gentile converts alike observed the sabbath.
When writing to _gentile_ Christians in 48AD, the Council at Jerusalem noted: “from early generations Moses has had in every city those who preach him, for he is read every sabbath in the synagogues” (Acts 15:21). At this early stage in church history, there was no New Testament for Christian congregations (which typically met in synagogues) to draw on.
In Acts 20:7, the breaking of bread refers to the evening meal after the sabbath was over. Notice that the reference is to the Jewish 'first day of the week', which ran from sunset on Saturday to sunset on Sunday, and not to the Roman 'Day of the Sun'. Hence, the 'breaking of bread' was the Saturday evening meal. Acts 20:11 confirms that Paul departed at daybreak the next day. The clear implication is that, after observing the Sabbath then preaching on Saturday night, Paul's intention was to depart on Sunday morning - not to observe a Sunday sabbath.
The offering referred to in 1 Corinthians 16:2-3 was not gathered during a Sunday worship service. Indeed, the text strongly implies that what was set aside was to be stored at home - not brought to the church on Sunday for collection at a church service. For Jews, taking up collections at a sabbath service was (and still is) offensive.
The Apostle Paul - the apostle to the gentiles - consistently observed the sabbath (Acts 13:14 & 42-44; 16:13; 17:1-2; 18:4-11). After at least 15 years’ Christian ministry, Paul declared: “Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I offended at all” (Acts 25:8), meaning he still kept the sabbath.
Although Romans 14:5, Galatians 4:9-10 and Colossians 2:16-17 are often used to claim sabbath observance has been abolished, it is far from clear that the sabbath-observing Paul was referring to the _weekly_ sabbath in any of those passages (note that none of them refers to _the_ sabbath).
In Romans 14:5-6, for example, the concern is whether one should fast on certain days, not with sabbath observance.
Galatians 4:9-10 concerns the observance of other dates in the Jewish calendar. Note that the weekly sabbath isn't mentioned.
Similarly, Colossians 2:16-17 - which contains the only sabbath reference in the entire Pauline corpus - concerns _a_ sabbath, not _the_ sabbath. In any event, the context is given by Colossians 2:8:
_See to it that no one makes a prey of you by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the universe, and not according to Christ._
In other words, Colossians 2:16-17 concerns human traditions that are "not according to Christ", which clearly does not apply to the institution of the sabbath in Genesis 2:3. What Colossians 2:16-17 tells Christians is that they can safely ignore non-biblical sabbaths and non-biblical rules about the sabbath.
The book of Hebrews requires special treatment, as the textual nuances are often missed when relying on a translation. In Chapters 3 & 4, the writer employed the verb καταπαύω (katapauó) and noun κατάπαυσις (katapausis), both referring to 'settling down, colonizing', as well as, figuratively, 'ceasing' (Hebrews 3:11, 18; 4:1-8, 10-11). In the Septuagint, with which the audience would have been familiar, κατάπαυσις (katapausis) spoke of the rest to be attained by settlement in Canaan. The allusion is evident in the writer's citation of Psalm 95:8-11, which is itself an allusion to Exodus 17:1-7 and Numbers 14:28-30. The writer tells his audience that the Israelites of the exodus could have found spiritual and physical rest in God's grace in Canaan had they but trusted Him. The same kind of rest is promised to Christians but, just as the Israelites failed to attain it, so could they (Hebrews 4:1-3). God's rest is something Christ has entered (cf. Hebrews 1:3; 10:12) and which Christians are to "strive to enter" (Hebrews 4:10-11). Note well that Hebrews 4:3 does *not* say: "we who have believed _have entered_ that rest". Few Christians would argue that God has already given them permanent rest from physical labor (cf. 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12). That rest will not be attained until after the millennium. Of particular note is that the writer switched to σαββατισμός (sabbatismos) in Hebrews 4:9 when saying _"there remains a sabbath rest for the people of God",_ before switching back to telling them to strive to enter the as yet unrealized κατάπαυσις (katapausis) rest. That σαββατισμός (sabbatismos) rest is a direct reference to the weekly שַׁבָּתוֹן (shabbathon) sabbath rest (cf. Exodus 16:23; 20:8-11) and is but a foretaste of the promised future rest. In other words, in Hebrews 4:9 the writer says the weekly sabbath remains in effect.
In Revelation 1:10, the reference to the Lord’s day does not necessarily mean Sunday. Once again, it at most means after the sabbath was over (e.g. Saturday night). In any event, it is not referred to as a day on which believers had some kind of gathering; indeed, all it tells us is that John was 'in the spirit' on that day. It may also be just another way of saying 'the day of the Lord', which is how the ISV translates it.
Although Jesus is often said to have broken the sabbath (Matthew 12:2, Mark 2:24; Luke 6:1-2; John 5:19; 9:16), thereby abolishing it, what He in fact did was to assert His authority over it (Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:28; Luke 6:5), restore its observance to its proper basis (Mark 2:27) and confirm the true scope of what could be done on that day (Matthew 12:10-12; Mark 3:3-5; Luke 6:6-10; 13:10-16; 14:1-6; John 5:2-18; 7:23, 9:1-34).
The earliest _possible_ reference to Sunday worship comes from Ignatius in 110AD who wrote of Jewish converts: “no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord's Day” ( _Letter to the Magnesians_ 9), but see my comments re Revelation 1:10.
The earliest _clear_ reference to Sunday worship is found in the _Epistle of Barnabas_ (c.120), I which the writer says: “Your present sabbaths are not acceptable to Me… we keep the eighth day with joyfulness, the day also on which Jesus rose again from the dead”. Note the antisemitism already creeping into the church.
Justin Martyr (c.140) wrote of “memoirs of the apostles” being read on “the day called that of the sun” alongside the “writings of the prophets” ( _First Apology_ 67).
Many others also wrote of Christian worship on Sundays well before the 4th century; and of other Christians who continued to worship on Saturdays.
Conspiracists - especially from the SDA - love to blame Constantine and the Roman Catholic Church for changing the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday when, in fact, the change from sabbath observance to Sunday worship began centuries before either existed.
Although Constantine made Sunday the official Roman day of rest (in 321AD), doing so merely facilitated what was by then a widespread, centuries-old, majority Christian preference in the western Roman Empire for worshiping on Sundays.
Although Jesus is often said to have broken the sabbath (Matthew 12:2, Mark 2:24; Luke 6:1-2; John 5:19; 9:16), thereby abolishing it, what He in fact did was to assert His authority over it (Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:28; Luke 6:5), restore its observance to its proper basis (Mark 2:27) and scope (Matthew 12:10-12; Mark 3:3-5; Luke 6:6-10; 13:10-16; 14:1-6; John 5:2-18; 7:23, 9:1-34).
Thoughtful theologians and preachers - like Voddie Baucham, Alister Begg, Sinclair Ferguson, Robert Godfrey, BB Warfield and others - have all affirmed the 4th commandment's applicability to Christians, the only variation being in its transference from Saturday to Sunday.
Just as the institution of marriage as the union of one man with one woman is grounded in creation (Genesis 2:23-24; Matthew 19:4; Mark 10:6-9) so too is the sabbath as a day blessed and hallowed by God grounded in creation (Genesis 2:3). Those who assert that the sabbath has been abolished are, in effect, denying Jesus' lordship (Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:28; Luke 6:5) over that day. The denial of the sabbath's applicability to Christians is just one product of the apostate 'American Gospel'.
It is only since the middle of the 20th century that the idea that the sabbath was abolished has gained currency - right along with the doing away of the NT's requirements for women to cover their heads and the discarding of the NT strictures against women as preachers and church leaders and turning worship into an excuse for carnality. Result: the sabbath is profaned far and wide by people who profess to be Christians. Those opposed to a required observance of the 4th commandment typically pass its observance off as legalism, (because we're not under Law but grace) or an attempt at works justification, yet they also typically hold that the other 9 commandments apply to Christians. Talk about hypocrisy!
Today, most of the church barely gives lip-service to even a Sunday sabbath (Lord's Day) observance - as little more than a sop to Hebrews 10:25. For most professing Christians, the only thing that differentiates it from any other day is the hour (or less) spent in church.
It would be good to see those promoting Sunday as the Christian sabbath, and those espousing its abolition, discuss which day of the week they expect the sabbath to be observed during the millennium.

"The Day of the LORD" is grammatically equal to "The Lord's Day."
Whenever "the Day of the LORD" is mentioned in the Tanakh, it is speaking of the "end of days." "The Lord's day" is mentioned only once in the Bible. When and about what is it speaking? Yochanan (John) was "in the spirit" (i.e., having a vision) on "the Lord's day." And what is the entire Revelation about? THE END OF DAYS. He wasn't saying that he was seeing this vision on "Sunday."

If John was seeing the vision at the "end of days" he would have written it for nobody to read for there would have been nobody alive to do so. It would have been very cruel of Christ to reveal it on the Day of Judgment when probation would have closed. As a matter of fact the vision was a warning ahead of the "end of days". Moses was a servant in the house of God whereas Christ is a Son. The scriptures say that when Moses is read a veil lies over their eyes but when one comes to Christ the veil is removed. Christ is our life, our all in all, our all that we need, our hope of glory. There's salvation in Christ only; he is the door, none other is. Christ said if we believe Moses we would believe him. We are to look up to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Moses spoke of things that would happen in the future thus pointing to Christ. Paul gave up all of his theology in Judaism for the unsurpassing knowledge of Christ and to be found in him. Our prime goal as a Christian is to find Christ or be found in him; Christ our God, our Savior, our Lord, our king, our friend. All the law is fulfilled in him. He is the end of the law for righteousness. Paul would have found it sacrilegious to meet together for worship on a Sunday if Sabbath keeping was very important to him. He never once made any such statement and he never taught on the Sabbath. He does not even name the Sabbath in his list of the elementary doctrine of Christ in Hebrews 6:1-2

@6:35 concerning the meeting that took place on the first day of the week, it could also be possible that this was a breaking of bread after the sabbath while people were still gathered together. Paul spoke until midnight. If he had begun speaking early in the day, he would probably not have continued until midnight. However, if he began speaking after the evening oneg, he quite possibly spoke for a few hours until midnight and then continued until daybreak.

Types and shadows were what the Mosaic laws were all about. To reflect Christ and His law. Hebrews 8 speaks of these things. Hebrews 9 speaks about a new covenant & a reformation. Folks that are hung up on the old covenant are hard pressed to keep all the requirements. Which were a lot of physical things. Now we serve God in spiritual things. Even harder yet. I have considered this issue for some time. I have friends that believe it is a matter of obedience to God to keep the Sabbath (Friday -Saturday) The realities of my life are that I cannot and I trust the Holy Spirit as my teacher to lead me on the correct path and for me that would mean rearranging my life entirely. That being said, I have heard both sides of the issue argued by much better educated scholars than I, and the only scripture that gives me any doubt is the phrase "until heaven and earth pass away." That is the only phrase in the entire scripture that does not reconcile with Christians not being bound to the Sabbath today. I would like to be able to keep the Sabbath, but do not believe I am being disobedient to God not keeping it, especially because I know with absolute certainty that God placed my life in the order it is in now which requires working on the Sabbath. So, my experience is this: God put my life in an order that requires me working on the Sabbath, so I cannot reconcile that with being out of His will if I do in fact work on the Sabbath... I have also looked at the article you are refuting, and I have to say, that the scriptures used are not presented faithfully.

On a side note - Jesus said "It is finished." He answered the previous "until all is fulfilled" requirement with His death - Galatians 3 is very on point. I have heard others say "Oh, He only fulfilled the ceremonial laws" but I do not find that distinction in scripture. While it may be helpful for US in studying scripture to categorize laws in a way that we understand in present day culture, it is a man-made distinction. Additionally, it is made clear repeatedly through the scriptures that righteousness comes through faith.

Why did Messiah say "it is finished"? What was it He talked about, the earth and the heavens passed away, we live in a dream.....pinch yourself, it is the prophecy about the Messiah in the Tanach, (old testament) that He was referring to, He came to do what His Father willed......it is so simple!! Messiah is on His way to come and take His bride home and christians think they can tell Him what He said and what He taught, AGAINST HIS ORIGINAL TEACHINGS TO THE FIRST PEOPLE AND AT MT SINAI!!
Abraham was obedient: Gen 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. HUH?? This was long before Moses and Mt Sinai!!
According to Messiah: Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. NOT DESTROY THE LAW, MAKE THE DISTINCTION BETWEEN FULFILL AND DESTROY!! COULD IT BE THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECY ABOUT THE MESSIAH......??
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. HEAVEN AND EARTH HAS PASSED???
I was once where you are now and I NEVER want to be there again!!

I would ask you to consider one question Hannah. IF it is finished was a reference to all things previously observed were now ended why the reference to what we believe is the Messiah on earth ruling and reigning (Eze and Isa) having the Nations coming to Jerusalem from Sabbath to Sabbath? IF it is finished then it is finished... Something that was started at the framing of our world became finished then possibly restarted at a later time ??

Hebrews 7-9 refers to Christ as our sabbath (rest)

Christ refers to him self as Lord of the Sabbath, Mark 2:27-28. Him being our rest and the Lord of that rest is all the more reason to remember the Sabbath 🙌🏾

No it doesn't. Hebrews says there remains a Sabbath keeping for the people of God. Look at the original language.

So if Jesus fullfilled the law and we are held to a "intentions" based spiritual reality instead of an actual "acting out" of these actions, then aren't we to keep no separation between iniquity and transgressions? If my heart (spirit) wants to keep the Sabbath but my obligation to provide for my family prevents this: aren't I keeping the Sabbath spiritually? I understand both arguments but reality thru scripture tells me that I am in God's grace thru Jesus about this subject. Do tell how I am under "breaking commandment" since Jesus himself broke this particular commandment in favor of loving a brother. Please explain

I would disagree with the phrasing of your question, because I don't believe that Jesus broke the Sabbath. If He did, He couldn't be the sinless, spotless lamb. (Sin is defined as breaking the Law of God, which includes the Sabbath, according to Romans 7:7 and 1 John 3:4.) You are shifting the argument from "Should Christians keep the Sabbath" to "Is it acceptable to do x on the Sabbath". If you can agree with me at we as Christians *should* keep it, then we can talk about *how* we ought to keep it according to Scripture.

Jesus did keep the Sabbath in the NT. The Pharisees and Saducess would follow Jesus around to try and trip Him up with legalism which Jesus railed against all through the NT. What God try's to make easy for us man turns around and makes it hard.

Excellent presentation refuting the Sunday worship tradition. I agree with your analysis and would love to hear a response from John MacArthur on your thoroughly supported case against his points. Well done.

Well done!!!!!! a true preacher, you never heavily expressed your opinions and kept it at a place of truth(THE WORD)
JM'S teaching made me sad, as I couldnt help but feel the accountability that wil come for teaching opinions, I really believed I could see hurt coming from him and this is generally the case when people hold really tight to false teachings. They preach opinion held on to because of a heavy hurt sustained in the past.
Please keep doing what you are doing, stay humble, and always preach with the LOVE OF GOD.
Man GOD must smile when he see's you, so good to see

Question to anybody: So is there a problem with attending sunday worship?
I always understand Sabbath as a day of REST (minus all those jewish traditional clichés such as lighting fire, etc). Rest, As in rest from all monetary works and every other works that does not have anything to do with worshipping God... I don't understand why believers have to argue which day we ought to worship. We are supposed to worship God everyday, aren't we? I will attend a wednesday service if our church schedules it.
God's Sabbath is no doubt the 7th day, no arguing about that, but why does it matter to people which day is the right day to gather and worship God in churches? Who cares if you attend saturday or sunday service??! Sabbath is not about "church service" but rather a day OF REST. Rest from all things of this world. Rest dedicated for God by either worshipping him alone in your room or in fellowship with other believers in church. Rest dedicated by simply reading and studying the Word alone in your room or going out to witness the Word to others. Pretty much anything that has something to do in worshipping God.
I am an old time believer but young in studying the Bible. I don't know a lot yet. But I'm always amazed at how alive the Word is, and how concise and clear it is. The confusion about the bible only appears when I start reading commentaries from different people, both preachers and listeners. Sigh

I don’t think there’s a problem with having services on Sunday, or any day, as long as that doesn’t replace resting on the Sabbath. :)

Of all the Laws, can you keep the 10 commandments?!?!...If No, then why would you still be alive?...
Note: Law and Grace must be fully understood..🙏🏻

Well-said, David Wilbur, I agree with you. To others who would rather the Weekly Sabbath is abolished, I ask, when, how, where and by whom was the Weekly Sabbath changed to the first day of the week? People concerned should read and understand the prophesies regarding these changes in Daniel 7, in particularly, verse 25.

Look up Sabbath lovers will hate this video Dr. Gene Kim. Easily refutes this. It doesn't matter if you worship on Saturday or Sunday or Monday etc. The point is that this is not the problem. The problem is getting people to trust in Christ alone for your salvation. Stop scaring people that oh no you better worship on Saturday or your worshiping the Antichrist. This concept scared me for a while until I learned the truth I reccomend checking out Dr.Gene Kim. God Bless!

I'm not saying you are supporting the idea that Sunday worship is satanic but believe me Seventh Day Adventist do and other cults.

Colossians 2:16-17 (KJV) "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of any holiday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is of christ!" Did you catch that the sabbath days are no longer an issue, and for a bonus food laws are gone. I'm in high school and understand this I hope that you can too!

I saw that video. He spends the first bit trying to prove the Sabbath was abolished, but then says we'll be observing it in the Millennial Kingdom. Makes absolutely zero sense whatsoever.
David Wilber is biblically correct about this subject.
      Be blessed
