My 06 tl's engine got coolant in it from the radiator having a small crack in it according to a mechanic and now it makes since because when it did run i could sometimes smell some coolant and now it wont even start so im assuming the timing belt is out of time or i guess it could be no compression because the o rings are worn on the pistons because of the coolant. Idk this sucks because now im probably looking at probably having to let go of it unless i want to find a new engine or pay the 32 hundred to rebulild it on top of having the timing belt, water pump, and radiator replaced.
couple thing I want to add. 1. Engine mounts, do not do full aftermarket mounts (at least trying to avoid the rear) as they will give you vibration. 2. Ball Joint, just inspect it every oil change and you will be good. If it goes bad replace with Sankei 777 or OEM. DO NOT go with MOOG their quality are garbage lately. 3. HFL (Bluetooth) the 04-06 unit has been discontinued so either go with aftermarket or just unplug it. (once unplugged the voice activation on navi model no longer work). 07-08 Unit received a updated part number and so far no issue for me. 4. Transmission, 04-06 Auto has external filter. 07-08 Auto has internal filter (locate inside the trans housing). Manual trans does not have a filter externally (I am still unsure about internally)
I have an 04 auto TL and when I reverse then put it in drive it hesitates to go in drive, I have to give it a sec before it goes into drive. What could that be
@@nmcustomz5878 he might be right but what I did was a flush and replace the filter, remove the transmission solenoid and clean it, and also replace both top and bottom sensor switch. I did all this to my 06TL (except the flush) with 143K miles and it shift fast and smooth. hope this helps
Mine does the same thing, especially in these winter months. I thought it was transmission so I changed the fluid but it still occured. I hope its not a sign of early transmission issues
It should not be, the engine is bulletproof and you do not have to worry about a timing belt.. if you get the 6 speed manual they are even more reliable

If it feels like a jerk and how it takes a couple seconds to change gears. It’s most likely the engine mounts.
@@Leek_ee i just got the engine mounts replaced like 2 weeks ago. I was thinking It could be trans fluid cuz I haven’t changed it since I bought it

I have the exact problem I think is the mounts

Did you notice issues coming up after lowering it? Like ball joints failing, CV axle vibrating? How’d you fix it and how’s it been holding up now?
Surprisingly no, the only issue I had was my steering wheel pulling to the left.
Thx for the reply, I just ordered some wheels yesterday, and coils are next excited for spring/summer
bruh I just replaced both of my CB axles and I still get a clicking noise on my 05 TL, shits so frustrating.. u guys have any idea on what it can be?
I said screw the problems, and bought a 18 Camaro SS... solved all of my issues
But it could be the transfer axle, I forget what it’s called, it’s in between both axles... basically what you slide the axle in transmission side
Is it hard to maintain the maintence? With a 15$ an hr job?

It takes premium gas n guzzles it
@@mindsoul6ix285 I agree the gas mileage on the TL is not the best but the experience is gud. A 05 Chevy equinox had much better gas mileage.
