You've got to be kidding me. I have the weirdest taste in music, but these dudes are literally covering my entire playlist! From Daft Punk to Tears for Fears to Eurythmics! Love you guys, from the bottom of my heart! Would love to hear Come and Get your Love, or Brandy, still staying on the topic of Gaurdians of the Galaxy
It's not a weird taste in music, it's a broadly good taste in music. Don't think your taste is weird just because your peers are either deep into one style or, heaven forbid, listen to whatever crap is in the charts.
The main reason I love Pomplamoose covers is that their songs sound so distinct from the original while still capturing the soul of the piece. Well done!
theres an intimacy to this version that really emphasizes the vulnerability of a confession. its a fantastic contrast to the bombastic and loud declaration in the original! loving it!
This took me back! When Blue Swede first released it at a time when living was easy in my life. At 14, we have no idea, do we? I just turned 60 and for a moment my cares all dropped away. Thank you so much!
I didn't really miss the ooga-chaka, but I did keep hearing the horn section line in my head -- on flugelhorn and alto flute, just to keep with the general feel of this version.
Finally you’re singing with feeling! You have the chops. Belt it out! I love it when you dig deep and come out of it high. A little more! You have the whole package. If you belt a few out on an album I’ll buy one.
Covers are normally second best; Pomplamoose is the exception to the rule... with every cover, you set the bar a notch higher - can't wait for the next one... Oh, and that doesn't even include the awesomeness of your originals... Thanks for the smile.
I've listened to this twice (I'm sure I'll listen to it many more times). It's the best, most musical version ever. And the sound out of that giant Guild. Man.
I can't imagine listening to your wonderful music without seeing you making the final, posted result. The sound and vision are so connected in my experience of what makes what you do so exceptional.
I'd say the bass could be a touch louder... I pointed this out in the Harder - Faster - Stronger remake... if you are going to have a funk bass player, then they need to be loud enough to stand out with some heft to it because the bass is driving the music more than the drums are. I shouldn't have to try and listen to a funk bass player over the other instruments. Otherwise, I'd agree :D
Perfect, just perfect. It would take way too long to list all the bits and pieces (and guitar solos!!) that make this a perfect whole. I'm a geezer who grew up with this song (mostly BJT) and this new re-harm sends me into great aural joy!!
Yeah, what's the story on Nahneen Kula's vocals? Is she listening to a digital file of the rough mix, recording her part at home and then sending you kids a digital vocal track that you 'massage' to your liking and add to the final mix? Or has she been grounded her for life by her parents?
buff!!!! mind blowing cover... you are one of those bands that make covers of songs that are good but you turn them to be great!!!! absolutely fantastic job!!!!!!
First recorded in 1968, with musical acts featuring Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, Grace Slick, etal, were filling the stage but not the radio, this was what they played on AM radio & deemed bubble gum music of the highest order. Has been & will always be such.
Beautiful. I always thought this song could be stripped down and still retain the groove it has. Would you guys ever consider covering Whole Wide World by Wreckless Eric?
I didn't know I was such a Funk Guy but now I hear all Scary Pocket Songs over and over. I heard both your songs years ago before and I am sooo glad you two found together
I don't know what this type of style even called, but it makes me feel good :P so pleasant on the ear, I'm loving it, it's as sweet as cotton candy and has an air of 90s video games in the weirdest way.
Just a shout out to a famous person in a comment section on youtube that none gives a damn about. How wholesome and necessary. Btw, no not great without the start of the song.
...and a shout out to Jonathan King who added the Ooga Chaka and some other bits and bobs. Blue Swede took his version of the song, added some pro musicians and a kick ass production team. :) ruclips.net/video/WG3A69CnjoY/видео.html
Gave me goosebumps! I love the way they remix songs! And her voice is so perfectly strong and feminine (sorry, I can’t think of a better way to describe it).
This is the kind of musical interpretation I love, thank you! And, let's give proper attribution: this song was written by Mark James and the first recording (and hit) was by BJ Thomas. Blue Swede's cover added the (in)famous ooga-chuka lyric.
I always enjoy your posts , love the music and it's a pleasure to see you guys play with such a passion . Live for the music , Greetings from Belgium .

Pomplamoose’s #1 influence is Guardians of the Galaxy.
Great! A special song for us in Sweden too. Hooked on a Feeling g.co/kgs/ypiK75
You guys just made me realise what song I want to perform when I get married - you'll get an invite.
And not David Hasselhoff????
Love this ♥️
I think it should be in GotG Vol. 3. I love it, but Quill would have a conniption.

Well, that's pretty basic.
Not the only one
It's not a weird taste in music, it's a broadly good taste in music. Don't think your taste is weird just because your peers are either deep into one style or, heaven forbid, listen to whatever crap is in the charts.

@@Pomplamoose I dont mind 😉

Totally agree and love that their version really highlights the lyrics and shows how timeless a well written love song can be.
I'm gonna send this to my crush when I get one
It's the easiest thing to get a crush. The impossible part is the reciprocal.

That "keep it up, boy" absolutely melted me lol
Everything from the arrangement to Nataly's shirt screams retro 70s nostalgia. I'm hooked :)
... es wird höchste Zeit das ihr mal nach Deutschland kommt für ein paar Livekonzerte, ich bin def. am Pomplamoosehaken ... ;))))
As soon as you hit that full band sound... I'm always sold. Your carefully chosen chord progressions are aural candy I never get sick of.
That breathy "keep it up, boy" @ 1:33 … damn, girl!
70 but I get younger by 10s of years while enjoying Pomplamoose bringing this song!
Finally you’re singing with feeling! You have the chops. Belt it out! I love it when you dig deep and come out of it high. A little more! You have the whole package. If you belt a few out on an album I’ll buy one.

Whatever digital delay voice doubling used on this is just excellent.
They are all pieces of a puzzle that fit so perfectly when they play. And that bass is so good!
@PomplamooseMusic. I have to admit, I love that Nataly sings with her eyes closed. She feels the music. No distractions.
I've listened to this twice (I'm sure I'll listen to it many more times). It's the best, most musical version ever. And the sound out of that giant Guild. Man.
things just feel better when your music is in my earholes
I guess Björn Skifs (singer in Blue Swede) would applaud this cover. Great work as always. Keep up!

Did she though? I feel like she's just in a different corner of her room 😁
why is Nataly's voice so lovely? by far, one of my favorite vocalists of this lifetime
I think she's phoning it in from Malaysia.
Excellent version of this song.
I just listened to both originals; BJT and BS. This is the best one!
Everyone is awesome, but that bass player, man what a sweet groove!
So not always keen on your heavy modification with your covers, especially when you mess with the chord structure, but this one works... Genius!
Nick Campbell's groove make me feel happy!
