    I have a rare incurable cancer. Stage 4. Expected to die within months after I first saw my oncology team. Almost 4 years later I'm still here and my latest treatment is annihilating the tumors. I eat a vegan diet and have done so since I was diagnosed. Even my oncology team admits that my diet has something to do with my still being here. This cancers treatment has caused hypothyroidism, Addison's Disease, pancreatic insufficiency...and I deal with it all. I take meds and eat really, really well. I have so much energy I'm tiring out people who have "good" health but don't eat a plant based diet. Even after infusion when I'm dealing with bad chemo side effects, I'm doing better than some. I make amazing food and I'm keeping myself alive. Next week I get to meet my new grandbaby! If you're not eating vegan, I'd suggest you try it for a month or so and see how good you feel

    I follow several black plant based health coaches and they have succeeded at lowering BP, stress, a1c and cholesterol with diet, meditation, relationships They address the whole psychological social equation. They feel so much better leading in their wellness, living with awareness. Sadly, they feel disenfranchised in the medical services available and it's up to them to rebuild the foundation of well being in life. Everyone needs that level of commitment and personal responsibility.

      Keto, which is to say eating healthy grass fed and finished meats and vegetables with very low net carbohydrate content is critical in maintaining vascular health long term. This reduces or eliminates the primary causes of heart disease, diabetes, eye disease, kidney failure... It is simply eating healthy unprocessed real foods, nothing on the inside walls of the grocery store found in a box or bag with multiple ingredients, much less a bag of flour or sugar.

    I eat vegan. It's the best thing I ever did with my eating habits. I take supplements and exercise on a regular bases as well. I originally started eating this way after taking a wellness course back in 1985. I started gradually in the beginning to eliminate meat, then dairy, or any other animal products one category at a time. I quit for a number of years, because I didn't quite understand a lot about what I was doing at the time, before I started back again in 2017. It was very easy for me to switch back over to plant based eating this time, because I had done it before in the past. I don't find myself ever wanting to quit ever again this time.

    The general over all health of people has declined the last few decades.
    Even children today have signs of artery disease. Fast foods and sugary drinks have long term consequences.
    There is an obesity epidemic today where over 60% of the population is overweight or obese.
    What is common today and "NORMAL" is not healthy. The average person today is not healthy and is taking medications.
    Heart attacks were once only common in people over 65. Today people in their 40 are having heart attacks.
    Add more plants and vegetables to your diet and less junk and overly processed foods. Being thin is a sign of good health. Being over weight or obese is a sign of bad health. Poor diet, lack of exercise and obesity are contributing to high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

Didn’t sound like enough calories for a day. If you’re gonna be raw vegan, you have to get a LOT of fruit in or you’ll be hungry. I've been on Keto/low meat diet but I feel like raw plant-based is the best for me. My dna is 90% West/Central African and that's mostly a plant-based diet. Keto was ok but I'm at my very best with pb diet. Imhotep said "Our food should be our medicine. Our medicine should be our food."

      There is only one way to not contribute to the exploitation, abuse and slaughter animals. As for diets, whole food plant-based is decades ahead of the rest with supporting evidence.

    Which ?

    • @VeganLinked

      I can't speak for the doctor but generally whole foods are best. I do love the occasional juice personally. Fiber slows down the glycemic load and also feeds beneficial bacteria

    • @NEMO-NEMO
      @NEMO-NEMO Год назад

      @@VeganLinked I was always taught that the fiber is important so I agree.
      Also, juicing can be challenging for many people and they never get past the carrots and apple combo which is very sweet.
      I do agree on a plant based diet, starting with an 80/20 plate for about a year. Then transitioning to 100% plant based diet.
      It used to be easier to be a vegetarian and a vegan in the 60s 70s and 80s, specially in California. There were hundreds of shops that sold hand made bean burgers, tempeh burgers, all types of cooked veggies, whole grain breads and noodles, pickled veggies and freshly made nut milks, rice mills, seed milks. Also fresh peanut butter and freshly ground organic coffees.
      These stores also had equipment to make freshly squeezed juices to order. Including wheat grass.
      I could go on and on.
      What we have today is a corporate introduction to laboratory made ingredients whose intent is to mimic meat, down to the blood juices that are a natural by product of eating animal products..
      Most folks won’t cook regular foods at home let alone having to cook a plant based diet. Which requires chopping, pickling, and just all around more work.
      I always wanted to open up a small dive of a store that offered all these things, including desserts, and as a young person, I went to college and received a degree from The Culinary Institute of America, apprenticed with dozens of great chefs and bakers and even lived out in CA for 5 years learning to the “green” movement from these wonderful stores. I came back home to Jersey mid 1985 and worked for a number of veggie restaurants and a chain called Fresh Fields. Everything was made by hand, and at each location.
      By 1992, the stores were bought out by a new corporate entity, Whole Foods, who changed the entire movement from a “hippie” style natural, hand made unique truly vegan and vegetarian movement to a Corporate elitist over priced store that makes most of their items in a warehouse and ships them to each chain.
      Less;
      Labor costs
      Uniqueness
      Affordability
      Neighborhood feeling
      More class distinction
      And stores full of lab created foods.
      Oof!

      @@NEMO-NEMO yeah the times always seem to be changing. And people tend to be lazy. Sure it may take a little more work and creativity and probably a certain level of intelligence to be able to break outside of what the norm is doing and not be lazy. But for some reason the amount of extra work to me is something I really enjoy, what is there better to do than grow, make delicious food, eat delicious food and take good care of yourself? What are people doing that occupies so much their time they can't properly acquire and prepare healthy food to eat? Anyways, I would love to chat, you sound like a fun conversation I just got to focus on the road, light turned green! I'm getting ready for a bit of traveling to do more interviews. The next few months are going to be wide-open! I already have enough content for the rest of the year but I'm about to get lots more!
