I have never understood the hatred of Midichlorians. I hear people say "Oh Midichlorians created the Force...or that they are the Force itself." In truth all Midichlorians are, is a medium through which the Force communicates with living beings. Like how magic and wands are not the same thing in Harry Potter, but wands can be used a medium to channel magic. It's like a biological wand. People also complain that Midchlorian counts to determine the strength people have in the Force is too scientific or too much like power levels from DBZ. But whose to say the Force isn't responsible for willing the manifestation of greater midichlorians into certain beings, knowing they will be important to the future. I just don't understand how people can say Midichlorians make the Force any less mystical, when if you give it any level of thought they can easily be just another interesting part of the mystery that is the Force.
I think at the very least, it makes sense of why different characters in the SW universe have selective aptitudes to the Force. Sure, I'm certain some other contrived reason could exist as to why the likes of Han wouldn't just train in the Force after seeing Luke wield it, but the M-Count gives a determined biological reason why some can and others cannot, much like Wizards and Muggles to re-use your Harry Potter analogy.

(This also leaves open the interpretation of what makes a living soul, and can a droid develop a living soul? And if so, can a droid who developed a living soul, also learn to use the force?) However, in organic beings the mediclorians act as a kind of “spiritual signal booster”. Physical bacteria (who have a naturally direct and super strong connection to the force) that increase an organisms spiritual connection, and the more mediclorians one has, the stronger their innate connection to the force. So through hard work and training one can grow their strength in the force no matter their starting force sensitivity (or non at all). And in fact this is seen in the fight between Obi-Wan and Anakin, as obi-Wan constantly trained and pushed himself while Anakin was more relaxed in his training due to arrogance (still super powerful). This led to Obi-Wan almost matching Anakins natural talent, and physically keep up with him in their battle on mustafar. Fun fact: George Lucas drew inspiration for the idea of mediclorians from the mitochondria in the cells.

My head canon to me is the Living Force and the Cosmic Force being two separate entities that MUST co exist for existence and order to be maintained. The Living Force exists in all living things to safeguard and nurture life itself across time and space to allow a soul/consciousness to bind with living cells. The Cosmic Force represents a flow of time and space and all that is not living in existence. The creation and destruction of celestial bodies, dimensions, realities. The flow of time. The past, present and future. Without the Living Force, the sheer power of the Cosmic Force will obliterate all within the raging river of existence. So the Living Force protects all life from the dimensional, temporal, spiritual and creative and destructive potential of the Cosmic Force. The Midichlorians are a result of the symbiotic relationship between the Living and Cosmic force. It is the Midichlorians that force wielders harness to allow a concious interaction between the force wielder and the Forces. Some powerful enough could even peer into the cosmic force and witness or even travel time and space. Other force wielders can imprint their consciousness through the Midichlorians and become one with the Cosmic Force. I’ve not only accepted midichlorians, but after I’ve found out about nano droids, I began to imagine how dangerous they could be if reprogrammed to study and replicate midichlorians. Imagine a being having these new artificial midichlorians introduced to their body and suddenly they have a connection to the force.

I.. uh... really wish I could but that just seems like plot nonsense. Even throughout the vast amount of source material it states that astral projection takes a lot out of the user, but shouldn't be fatal, so movie logic answer - they were old? Same goes for Rey and Kylo being able to battle each other. Sense and "feel" is one thing, but outright making contact and moving objects through reality? That's madness.

An interesting video that answered my questions but now ima a little more curious I always thought the dark side was achieved by usurping ones own will over the force to control it but the way you explained it makes the dark side seem like a much more natural side rather than a unnatural side
Yes and no. It's only when someone completely bends the Force to serve their own will, does the corruption truly take hold, drastically affecting the person who benefits from it.
I'd probably want to take it all in as much as possible...except for those damn midichlorians that never should have been added to the lore.... I feel understanding every aspect of the force is critical, but if I had to choose which order to learn them in, then I'd go with the Living Force so I can survive to learn the other ones. Especially if it were wartime. It seems to be the most practical and survival based. That and I feel it would benefit a Shii Cho specialization the most.

Not necessarily stronger, just more things that The Force would then be connected to. The Force exists beyond just life. That's why it is even the last line of the Jedi Code "There is no death, there is the Force"
The Force flows through all life but it is independent of life. Star Wars ultimately borrows The Force from Taoism, and the balance of the Light and Dark is nothing much more than the balance of Yin-Yang.
