Ace, great video. With my broken Spanish I have been able to ask drivers their opinions on the 15:14 election and the common answer is “no alcohol permitted” this weekend. Interesting that we as citizens of our countries really want a common solution that benefits the population as a whole without punishing success. Thanks for you insights to Ecuador. I’m already planning my next visit.

This was a good summary. I am not optimistic about Noboa, but I prefer him to Luisa. In terms of security he took some of the measures proposed by Jan Topic. Hopefully he fulfils his word. I was not too optimistic about the mayor elected in Cuenca, but he is doing a good job.
Colombia is having big problems because of the refugees, but the police in Bogota are okay. I think part of the reason is that they get around (very well through traffic) riding double on motorbikes, rather riding in big SUV that would make them feel like big powerful big shots. Another thing is that there are many women working as regular police officers. Then also there is a service program with some young men doing their government service as junior police guards.
