Here in America we mainly use the sprinter van as a caravan conversion called a Class B. The manufacturer will go for the top spec with a empty rear box so they can convert them to RV's or Caravan. This new look is a welcome aspect but the Electric model the biggest deal. Price, battery sizes, and range is going to be a huge factor.
I wonder will it be number 1 rust king, and metallic paint option will have orange peel and stone chips on front with any stone that hits it over 30mph. 1mm thick seat fabric base material on seat cushion. Positive side it will give 300k Miles durability, and be comfortable.
The most professional car review channel on youtube ! I have seen a lot of other car review channel, but nothing compared to this out there. This channel is basically commercial tv channel grade ! Maybe the closest to this channel is, Marek Drivers. Autogefühl keep up this outstanding work ! thumbs up !
Excellent coverage of the new Sprinter, Thomas! I've been anticipating this redesign for a long time, since I'm planning to build a custom RV on this platform at some point. It's really more evolution than revolution, nut I like the new infotainment, which was severely lacking in the current model. I'm also glad they're still offering V6 diesel, 4WD, high roof, long wheelbase, which is the configuration I'm interested in. Can't wait to see RV upfitters start to build on this chassis.
I would be surprised if any company is going to spec it up. Maybe only very small family businesses where the boss is the main worker will spec the van for himself. Or a sport club/team that need just one van for transportation.
Probably not. People who will use a car like that for transporting people rather buy a V class or a Viano (If thats still a thing). And I cant see companies who do use it differently investing tgat much more money into a transporter.
It is still a good marketing move. Now Mercedes can say that they have the most luxurious and technology advanced van ever made. I can't imagine them expecting to sell thousands of fully spec'ed vans for transporting furniture.
1:52 love it! These are the best reviews. 2:02 while the guy behind tried to imitate your foot-tap Thomas, is that a sensor under the grill for AEB on a base van! 4:03 don't knock out the all-powerful Head of Daimler, Dieter Zetsche, or you'll never get asked again! Such a good Review premiere Thomas, fantastic work, and editing. Many thanks.
WOuld be nice to know if Mercedes is tackling the rust issues they had in the past. The rust issue has haunted the past generation and this new generation for Sprinters could make or break Mercedes reputation for corrosion. Do you have any information about this?
WOW. The best van! Now I want to see a full test review with a passenger van. There're some changes in the air conditioning system and suspensions, with the normal 4 cylinder automatic variant. As a brazllian I want to know when this generation will come to South America, our models are produced in Argentina.
I find it somewhat amazing there's still no place for 8x11 size paperwork/invoices in the center console for a fleet van? At 13:45 the USB ports basically in a glove box in the center of the dash with the door open ever so partially obscures the front window view it's as if this was designed by people that have never driven a sprinter? # thenewGermanengineering?
The body lines and shape looks like the old one. Just seems like they facelifted it. Side trim panels look the same, crease lines etc. Think I prefer what VW have done with the new crafter, more practical shape for loads and looks nicer as a whole.
There a person in my neighborhood who has one of these in AWD/4WD. It has a small lift kit and larger offroad tires. He has mounted bright lights on the top. I would really like to have one built for offroad too.
hej thomas. love your work and style.. i miss u telling more about the sprinter 2019 FWD since its different than the RWD.. like for example the hight inside a FWD is about 8 cm more and the floor is wall to wall in the FWD model which u do tell about.. there are more things to tell which would be nice to know about..
Autogefühl yes i can see now thats u r way ahead of the game.. sorry to not notice that one.. But is it true that FWD has not the 316 and 319 model engine and also not the electric side doors option? 314 is the largest version in the FWD version? By the way thanks for your quick reply
that transit look and i dont like transit looks.. interior looks plain and empty. and does it have rust protection in the paint? Sprinters are great hard working vans i love them but shame about rusting especially when there not kept clean and decontaminated. Should be good enough to convert into a stealth campervan lol any amg version? 😂
Autogefühl Thanks yes please do. Also I believe WIRELESS CarPlay is coming to MBUX like BMW has but it is not available at launch? It would be hood to know if this will arrive via the new over the air update feature or if not when will it be available. Thanks
Autogefühl Oh and while I remember as previous mentioned I hope this new system will allow one to listen to CarPlay audio (Podcast Audiobook etc) and at the SAME time use Mercedes Navigation and NOT Apple Maps. Thanks I look forward to the full HD review:)
Hi Thomas! Electric versions will certainly kerb engine-idling for extended periods, a diesel-related practice that can often occur through habit. Thus, without genuine reason to do so, additional air and noise pollution results, which has an anti-social effect. As an asthma sufferer, I would welcome an adoption of electric vans by industries involved with local-delivery, and hope that companies and their drivers would mutually benefit. After all, deliveries play an important role in all our lives, as you also point out. Thanks for the review.
IMPORTANT ISSUE would have been if there are any improvements to the suspension/ chassis as the older generation suffered from large body bringing about safety issues while and Mercedes would cheat with external body bars and hired 'drivers' during launches. Therefore, cornering, handling (especially off-road), and stability are the main issues for the engineers to look into. beauty is a minor issue.
I have always loved Mercedes vans from a kid as my family had the 508d 608d ,307d 409. and so on , I even passed my driving test in one , have always had Mercedes vans and trucks in my business, But from 1999 to now the product has become so poor with rust my vito van disappeared before I had chance to put fuel in it ........
First impressions - not great, those front lights look like an after thought and general look of front is pretty ugly, the rear doors don't fold flat like the older vans - that may create problems in tight alleys. The width should have been improved as still too narrow for ideal camper conversions. Hifi wise - still seems like it's only got an fm radio :( no dab.
...also it would be nice to see one more full review of it (including driving) please, new video should be not less than 1 hour, i want to enjoy it as long as it possible))
Good salesman , im having trouble getting used to the new look , looks abit "soft" , the last modell looked better , more aggressive look , mercedes should go back to that on the next modell , AND you need to use higher quality metal so that sprinters dont rust , have some pride ! i know you re doing it on purpose so that people have to go and buy a new sprinter after ten years cus its a rust bucket
Why can't manufacturers just make a van for work instead of trying to make it like a car, THE OLD TOYOTA COMMERCIAL are the best as they are easy to fix and didnt go wrong and just worked. Had nothing but trouble with sprinter and crafter. Hiace all day long.
what is it with vans at the moment?!!!! they all got ugly fronts. this, the current transit, all of them. still wouldnt buy any van other then a transit. transit the original and the best
Why is everything always grey inside? Looks terrible. The front nose is competing with Ford for ugly front clip. It is just a box, the only design work is on the front clip, and that is what you come up with? Its ugly.
Will rust away before you get it home,..and whats with that boxy radio crap on the dash . Get a VW CRAFTER A BETTER VAN IT IS PAINTED BETTER ,SAME BODY ,AND A BETTER LOOKING DASH ,AND IT WONT RUST AWAY .....
Nice review but it's a van...Mercedes haven't moved the game on at all. Sorry it's just terribly Germanically boring. Citroen vans look funky, curvy but the new Sprinter already looks old.

So this is what Sprinter without a single rust spot looks like ??? Amazing....
Vanja Junc sadly after the video they were vacuumed up as they had turned to piles of Rusty dust.
I wonder will it be number 1 rust king, and metallic paint option will have orange peel and stone chips on front with any stone that hits it over 30mph. 1mm thick seat fabric base material on seat cushion. Positive side it will give 300k Miles durability, and be comfortable.
Where’s the AMG version!?
3:45 a beautiful moment. Thank you for showing our van lining!
I love the Sprinter. I have no idea why.
The most professional car review channel on youtube ! I have seen a lot of other car review channel, but nothing compared to this out there. This channel is basically commercial tv channel grade ! thanks so much! Spread the word for us :)
Imagine all these trucks with AMG engines. Sprinter V8 bi-turbo.
This is first time for me, I watched commercial vehicle review :) you are perfect Autogefühl team and Thomas again as usual.
great you also joined us on this one :)
1:50 The FUNNIEST moment !!!! I did love that scene... Thomas, definitely you ARE THE BEST !!!
=)
1:58 Guy behind Thomas sizing up to steal the wall mounted TV. Great first look Thomas, look forward to you getting one out on the road.

جولة مغربية بهذه السيارة الحمراء المريحة محملة بالمساعدات تنسيك الهموم 😍😍😍
After seeing this I know i want a van. I don't have any reason at all but still I want it
Seems like a very durable car. Especially the interior!
Excellent coverage of the new Sprinter, Thomas! I've been anticipating this redesign for a long time, since I'm planning to build a custom RV on this platform at some point. do you think they will ever offer the om 656 diesel engine in it? that would be great for people wanting to pull a big trailer.
is it equipped with the option that it automatically turns to a rust bucket after 4 years, like the old models did?
Nice interior for a van, but I do wonder if anyone/any company purchasing this van, will bother speccing up the van?
I would be surprised if any company is going to spec it up. Maybe only very small family businesses where the boss is the main worker will spec the van for himself. Or a sport club/team that need just one van for transportation.

Oh there are VIP airport shuttles too.
Perfect for campervans
That Meterstab :D.. great review
Ahmed Moaz Is Meterstab the politically correct version of Zollstock now?!
kraenk12 it is the german definition of it
We are getting new Sprinter in late summer, the 15-seter version with top spec. I suppose we get front wheel drive 👍
1:52 love it! :-)
Yeah probably they need the sensors for the new assistance systems
Great presentation Thomas!
no 4x4 version yet? how does the fuel economy compare to the current 3 liter engine?
WOuld be nice to know if Mercedes is tackling the rust issues they had in the past. The rust issue has haunted the past generation and this new generation for Sprinters could make or break Mercedes reputation for corrosion. Do you have any information about this?
We will have more information exactly on this issue when we drive the car, review will be uploaded Saturday 14.04.
Is iihs going to do any safety rating tests on these vans yet?
WOW. The best van! Now I want to see a full test review with a passenger van. There're some changes in the air conditioning system and suspensions, with the normal 4 cylinder automatic variant. What is cost per mile ?! You can find very fast if you buy one.
The body lines and shape looks like the old one. Just seems like they facelifted it. Side trim panels look the same, crease lines etc. Think I prefer what VW have done with the new crafter, more practical shape for loads and looks nicer as a whole.
We like to camp in them here in the states.
There a person in my neighborhood who has one of these in AWD/4WD. It has a small lift kit and larger offroad tires. He has mounted bright lights on the top. I would really like to have one built for offroad too.
is your neighborhood 50 miles down a dirt road with a couple river crossings?
The old model looks better...
For sure. This just looks older.
Yes...
why not *press x to doubt*
The old model just looks truckier, the new one looks more refined like a sedan. Less utilitarian and more refinement.
is there a back up camera
can the seats from the sprinter tourer fold down? Thanks!
Great video! Thanks
Rotate the grille 180 degrees and... Ford Transit

Nice video! Thanks! Please ask MB Rep - what do they offer for van conversion market (DIY RV)
thanks! There are several special companies who are collaborating for that
So the new Sprinter isn’t available with the command controller like the V-Class right?
No thats gone
that transit look and i dont like transit looks.. interior looks plain and empty. and does it have rust protection in the paint? Thomas, what is the music on 0:59 ? Thanks in advance.
With MBUX Does the steering wheel right touchpad work with Apple CarPlay? In the E class it does not. Thanks
Tough question. We ll find out about that when the drive the A-Class
Autogefühl Thanks yes please do. Also I believe WIRELESS CarPlay is coming to MBUX like BMW has but it is not available at launch? It would be hood to know if this will arrive via the new over the air update feature or if not when will it be available. Thanks

Paddle shifter for a commercial van, interesting
Thomas - another terrific review. Thank you. BTW, I would like to see the Sprinter here in the USA with a 6cyl petrol engine...or 4cyl supercharged.
thanks pal !
Thomas, why do you call it a car? In my country and the USA we call them vans. Excellent review as always.
hehe - I know a couple who only have a VW Transporter as their only vehicle - and they are always calling it a car!!! -)
Everything with four wheels and an engine is a car in Europe. Vans are cars, trucks are cars.
Not in the UK. A van is a van, a car is a car, and a truck is a truck, lorry or HGV.
ronnie doorzon What you say is correct.
What I meant to say was that van, truck and so on are subcategories of car.
Hi Thomas! Electric versions will certainly kerb engine-idling for extended periods, a diesel-related practice that can often occur through habit. Thus, without genuine reason to do so, additional air and noise pollution results, which has an anti-social effect. New Sprinter
All diesel models have an auxiliary heater.
No idling required.
I'm looking forward being carted off to the police station in these new fancy vans sometime in the near future...
I think it could be a good motor home
Van life from Algeria ✌
I love this sprinter , i want one
Thomas... This seems to be a important base for RV manufacturers. Y'all have any data on the reliability of these vehicles? Thanks!
yeah the RV market for those is indeed growing.
Well those vehicles are running more than any other passenger vehicles
IMPORTANT ISSUE would have been if there are any improvements to the suspension/ chassis as the older generation suffered from large body bringing about safety issues while and Mercedes would cheat with external body bars and hired 'drivers' during launches.

Nice review as always , by the way that's a van not a car 😉
A real van driver doesn't need a reversing camera!! 😉 🤣
Marcus Smith agree 307d and 508d built like tanks, unbelievable built quality,
Price??
4x4?
check full length
Have you spotted any rust yet?
Tom Wessel rust comes standard
I wonder why, Ford Transit does not have that problem unless you damage the paintwork.
Also enjoy our full driving review!
No optional 21 inches rim for the sprinter? Come on Mercedes 😜
best van in the world! thanks for review.
...also it would be nice to see one more full review of it (including driving) please, new video should be not less than 1 hour, i want to enjoy it as long as it possible))
hehe we ll try to arrange that
Best van if u have time and money to pay for abrenthal and service!!!
Complete scheise!!!!Preety but full of issues!
Is Thomas single or taken?
TOO EXPENSIVE in Australia !!!
I’ve got one, 2015, rust bucket... I live on the south, no salt on the roads... junk
Why can't manufacturers just make a van for work instead of trying to make it like a car, THE OLD TOYOTA COMMERCIAL are the best as they are easy to fix and didnt go wrong and just worked. Had nothing but trouble with sprinter and crafter. Hiace all day long.
Prefer the look of the old one!
should be a hydrogen sprinter not an electric one
Another new van from Mercedes
Love it. But the plastic side mirrors is ugly and cheap and no led blinkers
Looks like a renault
If I say it's ugly there is no point In saying it , this Mercades is for use
18:47
whats with the quality??? 360p??
Processing, we wanted to have it live asap. Full HD available in about 30 Min
New Sprinter
Those vans probably rusted away after the filming.
Mmoukarii Why would they?! Haven’t heard anything about rust problems.
kraenk12 lol. All sprinter rost
He's not joking. Here in Scotland, every Sprinter and Crafter seems to be rusted after a few years.
Robert Petzold just like you.
Haha I don't use my car in the winter. Can't stand rust.
Сколько стоит
That dashboard is a poor design. It looks like it was an after thought
what is it with vans at the moment?!!!! they all got ugly fronts. this, the current transit, all of them. still wouldnt buy any van other then a transit. transit the original and the best
We have 2017 314 versions already rusting cheap nasty production
How the fuck is yours rusting already?
That's easy wheel arch rusting okay
its under warrenty. Go get it fixed.
Mike Conlon Talked to rental company her in Uk,rust just after 2 years on white sprinters.
Why is everything always grey inside? Looks terrible. The front nose is competing with Ford for ugly front clip. It is just a box, the only design work is on the front clip, and that is what you come up with? Its ugly.
The car design looks stale already. Also please stop using high gloss finish in car cabins.
Electric is so much bullshit only 150 km
THIS BASIC MODEL HAS AS AN OPTIONAL STRING WHEEL RIP OFF Mercedes
The interia is so ugly. So ugly van. Im not going for Sprinter any more.
bums bus!!
En kötü kokpit 👎
soooo much plastic lol
RUST, RUST, RUST and again RUSTY piece of s.....
A lot o problems with them!Worst choice i evwr made when it comes to vans!
