Cycling my ass. It's because they are natural blondes. Admit it. Here in Silicon Valley people hike like crazy (there is absolutely nothing else to do here besides work and hiking), so people keep fit relative to other areas, but you have a bigger chance of winning a Powerball than seeing a natural blonde.
i hope they finally got the A/C fixed my 2012 is still being repaired under warranty after 24 return visits to the dealer in 5 years It keeps freezing up.
Paul Rodrigues unfortunately that doesnt work beyond the “initial plug in”, on the ‘18...just leaving it in doesnt matter still goes to start/stop. Its a nuisance
Carcaine I have it in my rental cars all the time. It doesn't bother me. As soon as u remove your foot off the brake the engine starts and u take off like normal. I think people just want something to bitch about!
It's funny that, considering how much "van life" seems to be gaining ground here in the US, that we don't have direct access to the full gambit of MB Sprinter let alone the ability to order from all the variants.
Aaron W The lack of options is because it would drive the price higher to offer all the variations stateside because they all have to comply with FMVSS, and not all will sell in volumes that will make profits.
Agree in terms of "on-site" availability. I I was looking more to what Volvo is/was doing by only offering the V90 Cross Country in U.S. showrooms, but you could order the regular V90 directly from Sweden. Since the platform construction shouldn't really vary between the vans, MB could theoretically do the same thing. Over the life of the vans "generation(?)", MB could greatly widen their profit potential with the relatively "low cost" of FMVSS certification. It may take longer for me to get, but I get what I want and MB gets the sale.
I have a 12-passenger, 2012 Sprinter van, because I have nine kids. It's a great van. I would've liked 4x4, but that wasn't offered in the US until 2016. I also would've liked more gears (so the diesel V-6 would run at about 2,000 rpm at 75 mph), and better towing capacity. I look forward to learning how the new Sprinter compares.
I'd love to buy one of these in 4x4 as my next rig. I'm not sure I'll be able to afford it, the current short wheelbase mid-roof 4x4 with a few options is over 60k.
Roman, any feedback on how quiet the passenger is? Wind noise? Is the sound insulation better than the last generation? Better than the Ford Transit Wagon?
that "gritty" feeling stems from the fact when you are in the front seats your feet are like four iches from the front tire so its pretty hard to be isolated from that wheel which makes them very tiring to drive
Count me as one who doesn't care for stop/start. I've got it on my JL Wrangler and I shut it off except when in line at a drive-through window. I'd probably use it more, but I'm keeping my Jeep for likley 20 years and I worry about the wear and tear on the starter.
They put in a heavy duty/higher amperage starter on the FCA vehicles. The thing is, they still use the same battery as a non start stop vehicle, so you'll be replacing it a lot more often.
Manpreet Singh well they upgraded the battery to the newer glass mat type a few years ago in othe fca products and it lasts fine. I think u need to do more research vs being a worry wort.
Andy Hass a few automakers are already experiencing premature starter deaths thought to be contributed by the auto start/stop features. Despite being "heavy duty" there is still a good amount of wear and tear that will likely make that starter a consumable (and more expensive as a result).
Alan Bowers it won't male the starter more expensive. It will make it less because they will be making more. U have a 5 yr 100mi warranty so who gives a shit. Enjoy your vehicle and move on
I would buy one for my business but the bodies here in Nova Scotia rust out in no time. On another note five boxes high,( he is going through the roof )
Great video , if someone was going to have only one vehicle a Sprinter would be a awesome pick .....Stroopwafels , Stroopwafels , Stroopwafels !!!!!!!!!!
Remember all of the generations on display + the T2. Delivery vans, taxis, police vans, ambulances and light fire engines (command posts and SCUBA units)
It was cool getting to see Roman running around with the dude from MotorTrend/TruckTrend and y'all trying to get the voice command to work Jeremy Clarkson has had a blast with voice command over the years lol
I dislike that stupid 'stop/start' feature in my '17 Escape, what a total pain in the butt, especially in stop and go traffic. Thank God I can turn it OFF. O.M.G. you think Ford would just have given us better fuel economy instead of that. I do wonder how much trouble we will have once the warranty is over.
We just got a 2018 F150 King Ranch with the start stop and I thought I would hate it but truth is I don't realize it anymore. But if I put it in sport mode it never shuts off.
Bad points I think are 4 Cup holders on top of the dashboard so your drinks reflect in the windscreen and bottles and drinks stick up in front of the driver obstructing your vision ahead and get hot in the sun. Great idea. Put all your paperwork in the open compartments in front of the driver so they to all reflect in the windscreen to. No where to put a 2 litre bottle either. No grab handle to get in. Great when your doing multi drop driving all day so you have to grab the steering wheel to get in. I drive a works 314cdi rear wheel drive 6 speed manual gearbox lwb van in the uk. Does 29 to 32 mpg. Very low first gear have to immediately change to 2nd gear soon as the van is moving as revs rise quickly. Engine is nice and torquey though.short shift it is best
Great , Info video always keep it up the good job, by the way the guy behind you with the beard is Jaime Gabaldoni, a well known Peruvian car journalist, based in Miami for Univision.
I do like the Sprinter van a lot. After all, it's kind of a baby cousin to the Unimog. As far as stop/start goes, I have kind of mixed feelings. I kind of like it, but I definitely understand why a lot of people don't. On the other hand, I don't really have that much experience with it.
I want to see a mash up test of some different vehicles on rough roads. A lot more people need to drive safely and efficiently on rough roads than need to tow and go hard core off road. A timed segment of a forest road would be cool.
That sounds like the Transit will have no problems getting the whole US van market (Ford keeps piling the options, while the others keep eliminating them): GM has really no competition (no word on a new gen Express that does include light-duty variants), Nissan's is just the old Armada SUV platform (when's BOTH Cummins TD's [I4 and V8[ coming to the NV's?) and Fiat's (supposed to be Ram's, but Chrysler had very little input on 'em) has proven to be an inferior product. That's the state of the full-sized cargo van market in NoAm: Transit by half-a-mile ahead...
T1 - transporter 1 , best extra durable bus with no electronics at all except lights and heater fan , true commercial transport with no expensive care of it except engines (which could get 1000000 miles on it with no general repair needed ), still these old engines were many times cheaper in repair than new ones. And old sprinters were more durable against rust, new sprinters begin to rust next year after you bought it .
I've got a 2018 C300 loaner for my Metris, but had to turn off that Start-stop thing😂. Would guys happen to know if they improved the driver's seat comfort at all?
Everyone I know hates stop/start and it makes them feel really uncomfortable. I was driving my 15 Jeep Cherokee this past Saturday near San Francisco. I was in a traffic jam and my motor turned off automatically when traffic stopped, the battery had died and I was dead on the freeway. Had it not turned off, I would have been parked at my nephews house and could have dealt with it, instead of in the middle of the 580.
One major reason i dont buy a sprinter here in United States is because they didn’t even tried to make available a manual transmission at least as an option!
My friend who works as a Toyota technician told me the cars with stop-start makes the starter a regular wear item. The standard maintenance interval is 30k miles. That's a lot of starters to replace!
Evolution Glitch I'll bet they aren't cheap starters either. I wonder how much energy/resources are spent rebuilding starters (including shipping) vs what they save in fuel.
That, and I wonder about wear on the engine bearings and journal surfaces. Unless there is an aux oil pump that is running during the stop cycle, you'd have journal to Babbitt bearing on every start cycle until oil pressure came up. Naw, I vote to keep it running.
I love my 2004 Sprinter, so much, I bought it from the company I work for. A high roof, LWB SRW model, I can stand up in it, and its 22’ long, it gets 17-22 MPG no matter what. I’ve had 8000lbs of pavers in it and 16’ boards with the doors closed. It tops off at 81 MPH and will run at that, fully pegged all day. The BEST thing about it, THE BEST THING, is NO DEF. No emissions, baby! It just runs and runs and runs.
On the 3.0 needs excess cover firewall inside to get to all the parts that will break. Also make the van with registration option from inside truck if needed to get out of limp mode . Put the turbo were you can service it not in back. Lost soooooo much money driving mine its ridiculous. Mercedes should rethink I will be glad to fly over to help them rethink then it's a great investment. Until then money pit.
An extremely poor choice for a van in North America. Firstly, expect to become great friends with your Mercedes dealer, as you will be visiting him a lot after a few years of ownership as these are not very reliable. Their service network is a tenth the size of a domestics, so always break down in a major center as you won't find one in smaller centers, plus be prepared to wait a week or so to get in as the waiting list for service can be quite long. Parts availability is poor but since the domestics are moving away from vans manufactured in North America this may be a univeral issue, unlike Amazon shipping from Europe isn't next day. Also hopefully they are not subject to steel and aluminium tariffs implemented by the President. Then there is the brand name issue, as Mercedes service and parts comes with Mercedes pricing. If you need proof, just phone a service center and request a price for an oil change. Nice women though.
Not true, our new 2018 van is really good and still going strong with around 55k miles. The 3rd generation was bad, seems now that this generation van is better ever. These van's can go miles on end and still go strong.
Sorry, I really don’t want to live in that world. Give me stripped down, 5 speed diesel with zero apps in the same package and I might bite. Not a Luddite but definitely too smart to fall for that dealership reliance.
Seriously, an app for your phone to keep track of your van's information systems and to tell you which van to take anywhere!? Why can't you just look at the dashboard to see what the van's info is doing? and then check your phone for a text for other nessarry non-van essentials??
Don't care about any gizmos such as brake assist etc. Reliability is a must and engine lifespan is why I choose it over Ford. Hate engine shutdown feature, Arm rest should be as a standard and please make it less thief friendly.
Thanks for watching! You can also check out the new Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon Here: ruclips.net/video/EFVTRVve71o/видео.html
This was the first MB-Sprinter, (with subtitle)ruclips.net/video/-MzJOH8hskY/видео.html
guys i wish to test the iveco daily 2018 it's better than sprinter and more beautiful
Are we getting 4x4?
Elefante tail jajajaja looks like burro fh 🦶
this is the best episode I've ever watched in TFL. using vlog style to introducing a new vehicle, very natural and genuine.
So this is what Sprinter without a single rust spot looks like ??? Amazing....
I’ve heard that water gets into the molding on the side of the Vehicle. Where else is the rust problem?
Is every young lady in Holland gorgeous? Seems like it, jeez
Hartson Racing that because the Netherlands is one of the most cycling focused countries in the world. Keeps them fit.
Yeah theres not near as many fat feminist liberals there lol
Err, the Netherlands is one of the most liberal countries on the planet.
Colorado Biking liberalism means classical liberalism in Europe, classical liberalism is not leftist liberalism like it is in us.
Vans: Europe’s pickup truck
So true
So wrong
So true, vans are seen everywhere in Europe, like how pick up trucks are seen everywhere in North America
So ture. The Vans in Europe are mainly white so in the UK the driver is called "White van man"😀
i hope they finally got the A/C fixed my 2012 is still being repaired under warranty after 24 return visits to the dealer in 5 years It keeps freezing up.
I absolutely hate the auto start/stop feature in all cars; doubly so if it can't be deactivated.
Carcaine I agree. I hate my wife’s Honda Pilot because of the start/stop.
On a Ford just stick a 7 wire trailer adapter into the receptacle
Paul Rodrigues unfortunately that doesnt work beyond the “initial plug in”, on the ‘18...just leaving it in doesnt matter still goes to start/stop. Its a nuisance
Carcaine .... the stop start is horrible... your 100% right...
Carcaine I have it in my rental cars all the time. It doesn't bother me. As soon as u remove your foot off the brake the engine starts and u take off like normal. I think people just want something to bitch about!

Nope. Chicken Tax. Plain and simple.
What?
Was answering to Louis. We don'T get all offers because of the chicken tax.
Some say Sprinters start rusting at the production plant, did those new models show any rust?
I have a 12-passenger, 2012 Sprinter van, because I have nine kids. It's a great van. I would've liked 4x4, but that wasn't offered in the US until 2016. Great job, continue adding vans to y'alls segments.
When is the 4X4 version coming?
I'd love to buy one of these in 4x4 as my next rig. I'm not sure I'll be able to afford it, the current short wheelbase mid-roof 4x4 with a few options is over 60k.
Roman should do some travel vlogs while he's away, he seems like a natural at it. Great video.
That's a nice van but can you guys please please do an Ike Gauntlet challenge with the Nissan NV 3500 passenger van
I want to see a test to gas powered duallys towing like the diesels
JohnsonDippin 99
Agreed

I would buy one for my business but the bodies here in Nova Scotia rust out in no time. On another note five boxes high,( he is going through the roof )
His calculation skills are good enough for the car lot. lmao
I might just be the only person that likes Start Stop. Efficiency ticks my german engineer boxes.
Hope they fix the rusting problem.
Holland looks beautiful always cool to watch videos where you guys can go places
Great video , if someone was going to have only one vehicle a Sprinter would be a
awesome pick .....Stroopwafels , Stroopwafels , Stroopwafels !!!!!!!!!!
Probably the only place in the world where Roman doesn't feel extremely tall 😂😂
Hi Roman . . . Is there going to be a 4 wheel (AWD) passenger option in the US?
I wonder if these will be available to conversion makers immediately e.g. Winnebago
I wonder if they've resolved rust issues on these new models.
3:26 stroopwafels.....😍😍😍
riza erlangga that's my new safe word!
nice
16:37 looks like they put usb C in there with those adapters. Good job Hanz!
Remember all of the generations on display + the T2. Delivery vans, taxis, police vans, ambulances and light fire engines (command posts and SCUBA units)
It was cool getting to see Roman running around with the dude from MotorTrend/TruckTrend and y'all trying to get the voice command to work Jeremy Clarkson has had a blast with voice command over the years lol
so no more High Roof ? or is there an even higher roof on the UK?
Did the check engine light come on?
Will the blue tech clog the engine and def fluid reek havoc on the systems early on causing fleets to drop the van entirely?
Holland ships StroopWaffels here to the USA, although they are hard to find here, i buy those from the world market.
15:15 Wait, so you drive over wet lawn, dig in a few inches, and the van breaks down?
I dislike that stupid 'stop/start' feature in my '17 Escape, what a total pain in the butt, especially in stop and go traffic. Thank God I can turn it OFF.
O.M.G. you think Ford would just have given us better fuel economy instead of that.

Will we get the 4WD version? Availability?
Fantastic Review .

I imagine the pallet was there to stop the crashing around sprinters get when they’re empty.
16:25 These are USB-C ports too but with adapters plugged into them.
Great , Info video always keep it up the good job, by the way the guy behind you with the beard is Jaime Gabaldoni, a well known
Peruvian car journalist, based in Miami for Univision.
Will the diesel operate with B20 fuel, which another RUclipsr said is the only diesel fuel sold in Minnesota and Illinois?
So, what's the word on the 4x4 option for the US Roman?
Please watch the video, Roman says the 4x4 is coming to America with the same 4x4 system as the current Sprinter.
@4:56 mentioned 4x4 coming but not when talking about body options
4:43 oh no, is it front wheel drive?
Curious....will the 2020 Revel have these upgrades?
My God, what beautiful women . What was the video about ?
Mr. Bluegrass
It was about elephant shifters, and Dutch porn. 🤣
Simp
Does the non dually sway bad in the wind ? I'd go 4x4 an dually ... what's max tow capacity ?
I do like the Sprinter van a lot. After all, it's kind of a baby cousin to the Unimog. As far as stop/start goes, I have kind of mixed feelings. I kind of like it, but I definitely understand why a lot of people don't. On the other hand, I don't really have that much experience with it.
Sweet, back in my country. So jealous, stroopwafels & windmills
Important question I can use it Diesel B20 ??? This is A big problem in USA
Are you connected to the “4ltge?” Was that a joke?
So what happens when your phone dies
My 2011 Sprinter just hit 435,000 miles, no need to change it for some years yet.
I want to see a mash up test of some different vehicles on rough roads. A lot more people need to drive safely and efficiently on rough roads than need to tow and go hard core off road. A timed segment of a forest road would be cool.
Could you make a video about the gas engine sprinter dependability pleasee?
people that travel a lot say say away from the Sprinter van, the reason being crazy expensive if you need a repair. Stick with the big 3.
Ram van is a Fiat Ducato, Ford Transit is a Euro Van which is assembled from kits made in Turkey. That just leaves Chevy/GMC van.
My 2011 sprinter has almost 300k miles and now I’m debating on wether to get a new sprinter or ram pro master
sprinter can easy og 1000 k miles
the promaster has the most god awful seat design ever
Are they going to mfg. in Charleston USA?
lendl kaiser yes
Thanks Anthony Halbert.
So they’re taking away the high roof option in the US?
Yes
That sounds like the Transit will have no problems getting the whole US van market (Ford keeps piling the options, while the others keep eliminating them):
GM has really no competition (no word on a new gen Express that does include light-duty variants), Nissan's is just the old Armada SUV platform (when's BOTH Cummins TD's [I4 and V8[ coming to the NV's?) and Fiat's (supposed to be Ram's, but Chrysler had very little input on 'em) has proven to be an inferior product.
That's the state of the full-sized cargo van market in NoAm: Transit by half-a-mile ahead...
Hi guys, nice video. Any info about sprinter 4x4 Thanks
so what if you don't use cell phones ?? do they have the onboard info?
Hi Roman, I was waiting for you to visit me and have some coffee.... Nice video. THANKS
Haven't done the GMC or Ford Diesels yet.....
Does it have a low roof version?
Todd Cotta I love it. You need a new battery. That’s about right if that’s the one that came from the factory.
They are nice but they turn to rust buckets quickly in the northeastern areas
@e james yes
How wide are the doors
Why no manual transmission to North America??????
back at it again with those white vans
One major reason i dont buy a sprinter here in United States is because they didn’t even tried to make available a manual transmission at least as an option!
Engine Stop Start saves maybe 1%, not 10%. And it's true that nobody wants it.
It does save up to 10% when coupled with a hybrid assist.
Depends of your start/stop traffic routes, in large city driving at rush hours you may save a lot.
Radios with knobs are required
mcinkyt pretty sure this is the top end van they featured, if you have a company van it’ll be basis as hell with a stereo with bobs on.
Holland..? what about Colombia South America..?
I love my 2004 Sprinter, so much, I bought it from the company I work for. A high roof, LWB SRW model, I can stand up in it, and its 22’ long, it gets 17-22 MPG no matter what. I’ve had 8000lbs of pavers in it and 16’ boards with the doors closed. It tops off at 81 MPH and will run at that, fully pegged all day. The BEST thing about it, THE BEST THING, is NO DEF. No emissions, baby! It just runs and runs and runs.
They should put a big diesel engine in it for those of us that need to tow heavy trailers. I would buy it in a heart beat
There is a v6 diesel
@@martinpees not nearly strong enough to pull a 10k trailer unfortunately
Most people will love the power sliding door.
OM606 is a 3.0L inline 6 diesel engine.
Just to be clear: Will a “gas” model be coming to America? (With emission issues on diesels....I’ve been avoiding them!).
What about the 4x4?
Watch the video
I watched it. Is there 4x4?
Listen at 4:55.

I have only ever seen one super high roof van I did not see one in any vans there in your video
lindo vídeo
19:34 It's a Mercedes, Roman. You need to learn to pronounce "the volume" as "ze volume", and it will work.
Ahhhh now it that’s the ticket
I love stop start.
I was wondering if,when you called your wife, you put your TuLips A Little Closer To The Phone?
Sorry, I really don’t want to live in that world. Give me stripped down, 5 speed diesel with zero apps in the same package and I might bite. Not a Luddite but definitely too smart to fall for that dealership reliance.
Hey awsome that you were in my homeland! Groetjes
I liked the yellow one best, esp. the interior...until I saw that downright frightening shift lever!
Seriously, an app for your phone to keep track of your van's information systems and to tell you which van to take anywhere!? Why can't you just look at the dashboard to see what the van's info is doing? and then check your phone for a text for other nessarry non-van essentials??
