Good idea, with his large following. However he wouldn't fit in 80% of the test cars.
He was on Top Gear early on, he developed a budget Bond car.

Love to here Ed talk more about vans. Even humbler large vans are great to drive and really comfy. With their torquey engines, great visibility and good seating position, they are no longer the poor relation to cars.

Edd, if you don't like the "lane assist", wait until the "side wind assist" takes control, pretty scary on a packed motorway on a gusty day, natural reaction is to correct it but you could end up making it worse! Other than that feature, brilliant van!
Id still prefer the previous version.

I hope Ed might soon get a chance to try that upcoming Transit Connect PHEV.
The Ford is a 1.0l 3-cyl series only hybrid with 13.8kWh. It's exciting to see, a hybrid van! but it creates doubts for the engine at amp-sucking high speeds.
That sounds great it was greatly needed sadly it’s probably gonna sell really bad because hybrids are really expensive and Americans think everything smaller than a 3 liter engine is an engine for a scooter

The Mercedes might have great connectivity but I wonder if it still rusts like all the previous ones? I had to start buying French vans because they didn't dissolve in water.

Interesting vehicles. (I don't know much about Mercedes , don't know what they are really like but it looks good , seems quality / well made).
I have a van , and a pickup , in Japan and one of the BEST EVER features I have seen on vans I have only ever seen on Japanese vans. (I have this on a Mazda and my daughter has a company van (Nissan) with it). This "feature" is slightly smaller than usual twin rear wheels ad a "fully-floating" rear axle. The vans have regular size front wheels.
This means there are NO WHEEL ARCHES IN THE BACK OF THE VAN . It has a completely flat floor.
It is a brilliant feature , especially useful for some uses and trades where you carry long or large flat items. (As I do) .
I am surprised other manufacturers, especially people like Mercedes , don't adopt this , it is one of the BEST and most useful design features I've seen in commercial vehicles. I have rarely seen it other than on domestic Japanese vans though . Shame . It would be very popular with van users.

They had Mercedes vans sprinters here in Canada they did not do well a lot of dealers went out of business Cars are not that great as well to expensive to fix lots of problems

Perhaps in future videos, instead of a spec range, you could include specs for each model.
So for length or roof height, list each one and maybe add GVWR.
Does anyone know if sprinters have a galvanised chassis? And from what year if so?
Would be nice to have an electric version of the Sprinter. Considering Amazon has 20,000 of these vans and FedEx own a bunch; it seems like they would insist on the reliability to be world class. Anyone who owns a Sprinter RV says never again.

I use one of these 68 plate Van's for work. I see Edd didn't mention about the body roll and the use in caution when its windy out.
Hi great series on vans... I want a van to convert it to a camper... But I'm not sure IV looked at loads of video and there deals for families of three or four. I have a family of 6 small dog and little kitten. So my problem it will I fit us all in or should I go for a winnebago or something..
