I reckon "Meadowlands" got its name from the most common translations of "Sogen": Grassland / Grasslands and Meadow. I just discovered that Meadowlands is a proper word mind you, but I've got a gut feeling about my guess.
I call this format "spark-droplet" format and I quite enjoy it. It has a more balanced fire first and mermail decks. In addition to that the previous decks had been lowered in power. I love chaos dragons and dark world in this format too.
It looks like an oddly good meta, although Mermail is clearly overtuned. It would be a shame if there were 5 cards released in the next set who would make it into a 2 deck format, and even more of a shame if both decks were incredibly highrolly due to their card draw spells, or that they were able to use an obnoxious floodgate. But that would be a very stupid considering they have the OCG to know what would be busted.
@@JanjoZoneIn all seriousness, the dragon ruler format was the Yata-lock for XYZs, the Frog FTK, the Cyberstein OTK, the cat burn. A basically tier 0 except with 2 decks, very highrolly card draw from both in Rejuvenation and judgement, Obnoxious floodgates in Jodwen and Vanity's Emptiness, and if you tried to tech against one you had to use shock master turbo (Another floodgate) because otherwise you could not do anything.
Saw the title and Was wondering if you would talk about ycs Austin lol that was my BF that got 2nd with fire fist even though he called it his bear deck lol
What's your favorite new card from this format?
I just wanted to say keep it up I love your vids. This is one of my favorite retro formats. Any format with Chaos Dragons is a good format for me.
Thank you! Glad someone here likes it! haha

Yeah, a lot to like about this format!
Where would we be without our favourite cardboard historian?
Exactly!

That would be a total shame

03:17: Unlike my movie "The Real Deal", which...was not..."The Real Deal"...
Was this the last 'fun' era? Trying to understand when things turned into what they are today.
It's totally subjective. A lot of people like Hat Format, which iirc is 2014. Some people think it went downhill long before even this point.

After that around 2014 I would play for a bit Favorite deck was infernitys with Laval chain especially after they got triple soul charge ❤️
Hey that's awesome! Congrats on him!
i mean mermail is the best deck and its not close
Mmm...Tenki - bear- pop go brrrrr😫👌
Man 2013-14 yugioh was such a cozy vibe for me 🫠
I remember wreaking with infernitys and triple soul charge lol
@KaylasStarWorld Triple soul charge was the crystal meth of Yugioh fo' sho 🤣
It was at this time that chaos dragons were running around at like tier two and I loved that deck so much.
