Even if Horford can still play, the sixers really don't need another PF/C that has no perimeter game, especially if they're gonna resign Harris (another forward with a limited perimeter game). Now they have four expensive stars, none of whom can really shoot and all need to get into the paint to have any effectiveness. They should've kept JJ Redick, who cost exactly half as much (13.5M) as Horford and is the perfect fit for the team.
Is that the post-boss fight music from Persona 5 that I heard in the background around the 7:30 mark!? Tree, either you or your editor are men of surprisingly refined tastes.
Eh, regarding the Kawhi shot, even if that didn’t happen and the Sixers won game 7, they still would’ve had to face a red hot Bucks team... Keep in mind, it took the entire Raptors defense and brilliant scheming by Nick Nurse to stop them.
I remember talking to a friend of mine, and we just laughed at how much the Sixers threw at Tobias Harris. We came to the agreement that with that size of a contract, the Sixers are basically calling Harris Dr. J reincarnated.
With them and the mormons, we learn that having the best record of the conference in the regular season doesn't mean shit, please, Tree, do another vid on them
The Philadelphia 76ers are a lot like SNL since 2013. You think that, while there are clearly some nice aspects to it, everything feels like a grandson period in terms of finding a main cast that sticks... and then you realize it's been 9 seasons already. Don't get me wrong. Ben Simmons (Cecily Strong), Joel Embiid (Kenan Thompson) and guys like Al Horford (Pete Davidson), Tobias Harris (Aidy Bryant) as well as Seth Curry and Danny Green (Colin Jost and Michael Che) are good to build around. However, If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Just like SNL trying (and failing) to make catchphrase comedy work, the Sixers have tried (and failed) to turn Ben Simmons into a 3-point shooter. The Philadelphia 76ers-Atlanta Hawks (at least for Philly) is the Wario courtroom sketch of basketball: pretty good in theory, but absolutely horrid as time goes on. *Blow it up, Philly.*
5:29 There are two tales to this: -Deal with Philly fans being insufferable because they beat the Warriors and “the process” was a success. OR -The Warriors have their three peat, and overcome a 3-1 lead and losing both Klay & KD in Games 5 & 6.
Third tale is that the 76ers totally blow it against the Bucks in the ECF, Bucks beat GSW, 76ers still end up in the same hole. I'm all for 'what-ifs' but remember the Bucks were up 2-0 in the series against the Raptors and took the entire Raptors squad playing defence to win the series. Not sure if the 76ers would've done the same
Forget that 5 year extension Philly gave Doc Rivers, it’s better to fire him now. And I bet you they’ll make the Conference Finals If they’ll fire him, look at the Clippers now…
I think their biggest issue this season was that the guys they signed didn’t fit together. Simmons and Embiid can probably work together if the other three guys can shoot. Instead, they get Richardson, Harris, and Horford, all of whom can shoot but aren’t truly knockdown shooters. When they had Reddick, a guy who can knockdown just about any jumpshot, and Butler, who is borderline elite at making his own offense, things actually kind of worked.
Love the Halo ODST music choice at the end, UTree. Perfectly gets across the bittersweet and tragic nature of the 76ers’ last half decade and its one fluke glimpse of greatness.
The fac that Simmons cant hit a jumper to save his life coupled with the fact that Embiid is made out of tissue paper pretty much means this team is dusted.
He was beginning to shoot more before his injury and if anything a major injury will slow most players down (at least a little bit) which might make it harder for him to play his normal game and force him to develop a jump shot a bit faster than he's been doing. He's still a damn good player and if they sign someone who can shoot from deep, you know he'll get a shit load of assists.
Philadelphia 76ers: Trust the Process or BUST Seeing how they continue to go backwards every season, the Process is nothing but a JOKE. That game winner at Toronto was the beginning of their downfall.
2021: You finished the regular season as #1 seed. To no one surprise, you lost to the #5 seeds the Atlanta Hawks in the second round while blowing 26 point lead in the process. And once again Ben Simmons choke big time in game 7.
The thing about the process is that they were building a contender. The Fultz pick is where it started going downhill and management tried to force a contender out of a team that just wasnt ready.
4:22 I've never really paid attention to basketball that much, but it's always wild to hear the name Landry Shamet. He and I were in the same graduating class in high school and my mom was his AVID teacher. I remember her bringing him up a lot when he got drafted
Not re-signing Jimmy Butler is the dumbest thing the Sixers have done since trading away the #1 pick in 1986 then Trading Moses Malone for a bag of used basketballs and an injury prone Jeff Ruland. With Jimmy Butler this team would have been a true contender.

My body may be but my mind is not
Same here
This aged like fine wine.
The process started when I was in 5th grade...
Now I’m a senior in high school...
watching this in 2023.....this holds so much greater truth. The process has the 76ers by the highest of CHOKEholds
Now how long is it until Joel Embiid gets traded outta philly?
At least there's the flyers because the Phillies have no bullpen at all.
@Gerrit Durant not winning a world series
Embiid isn’t going anywhere.
The Flyers are going down to my Isles!
I'm hoping we can turn things around after making all those bullpen changes because Bryce and J.T. are having monster seasons and Rhys and Cutch are finally starting to hit.
I hope my pelicans get him this off-season
I hate being a pels fan
To all the “This aged poorly…” comments; that song you’re hearing is “Frolic” by Luciano Michelini
Tree using Persona 5 music? Let's gooooo.
Things haven’t changed a year later. At least Ben is going to be gone.
Maybe Tobias Harris too
Pain
Lol
Ben still isn't gone what are yall gonna do
@@bigspaghettistar3239 What do you think they’re supposed to do??
Never in my life did I think the Hawks would be good again. And to think they just beat the Sixers powerhouse? It’s a good time to be alive.
I love it as a Hawks fan. The fact that the final four is the Suns, Clippers, Bucks, and Hawks makes me erect for such a legendary scenario
@@obijuanquenobi1911 me too!
@@obijuanquenobi1911 Now there's the parity that we want the NBA to have!
@@obijuanquenobi1911 No matter what happens next, you should feel proud. Those guys were expected to make it this far, especially with what happened earlier in the season with Lloyd Piece (Great guy, all the respect to what he's done as an activist).

This aged perfectly
The comments saying “this didn’t age well” didn’t age well
The "Process" ended up being just another cost of the deal with the devil that was made for Super Bowl LII
Here again after ANOTHER Second Round Exit. Jesus CHRIST
Another choke job, another 3-2 series blow out
This video gets more and more truthful every year
Wait, hasn't "The Process" already reached its expiration date?
Yea we suck now gotta trade horford
Leinen no one is taking his contract 😂
xYouKnowIGreenX yea I know we signed him for waaaay too much
I'm a Canadian born in 1994. I love the Raptors and hoped to God that one day a Canadian team, ANY team, will win a championship in my lifetime. The Kawhi shot is one of my favourite moment in sports history because it paved the way to the only Canadian championship in my lifetime.
If the bruin’s don’t make the playoffs, or are knocked out, I’ll cheer for a Canadian team…. Except the Montreal bozoos
Who's here after the #1 seeded 76ers got bounced by the #5 seeded Hawks in the 2021 ECSF?
Imagine being the #1 seed, being the favorites to not only win the east but to possibly win the finals.
And you choked, getting eliminated by a underdog franchise from a city that's known for blowing leads led by a guy who looks like a balding child.
(I'm a hawks fan lol, had to throw that joke in there. Trae has been amazing so far considering this his first playoffs appearance)
The fact that people are saying "who is here again" every year since this released lmao.
I feel the celtics got the last few moments of Horford's prime, Sixers are stuck with a rapidly deteriorating Horford
@@jack90054 How dare you doubt the process
I was honestly expecting UTree to post a vid about the 76ers after game two. Not surprised he did this.
I was waiting him talk about the boycotts, perhamps he will talk about it soon
Who's here after UTree's latest 76ers vid to see the hall of shame comments he exposed from this vid
*raises hand*
Oof, Barkley's savage words at the end.
Still only 6 games though. Sixers were the only ones to take them to game 7. I know it’s not a perfect rule but it’s something of note
Furthermore we played like ass throughout most of that Game 7. It shouldn't have come to that shot in the first place
Who is here after the 76ers choked against the Hawks in Game 7 of the Semifinals?
This is the 2nd video you made on the 76ers that became outdated, then aged perfectly!
Was it ever really outdated, though?
@@UrinatingTree As a Sixers fan, no, not really...
I remember talking to a friend of mine, and we just laughed at how much the Sixers threw at Tobias Harris. We came to the agreement that with that size of a contract, the Sixers are basically calling Harris Dr. J reincarnated.
With them and the mormons, we learn that having the best record of the conference in the regular season doesn't mean shit, please, Tree, do another vid on them
0:26 foreshadowing
Especially since it was Kevin Huerter shooting in that very clip
I used to be a huge Sixer fan. Haven't watched a single game in 15 years.
Don’t watch them, you’ll thank me later
This team died when Allen Iverson was traded. They've never been the same since.
philly_sports mhm
philly_sports at least we got the Flyers and Eagles. And if the Phillies get a couple pitchers they’ll be awesome
@@jeremyd7607 I wouldn't watch an nba game if you paid me.
As a 76ers Fan, I can say this is completely accurate.
Please let Tree jinxing continue
gonna have to wait another year lol
Ha this comment aged like shit 😂
@@bingobangobongo1409 Now another more 😂
The Philadelphia 76ers are a lot like SNL since 2013.
This video aged like fine wine.
5:29 There are two tales to this:
-Deal with Philly fans being insufferable because they beat the Warriors and “the process” was a success.
OR
-The Warriors have their three peat, and overcome a 3-1 lead and losing both Klay & KD in Games 5 & 6.
Not sure if the 76ers would've done the same
Fourth tale is:
The 26ers completely blow it in the second round, and choke against a team known for choking. The process is dead.
Forget that 5 year extension Philly gave Doc Rivers, it’s better to fire him now. And I bet you they’ll make the Conference Finals If they’ll fire him, look at the Clippers now…
or Ben Simmons's max
This aged INCREDIBLY
@@cheeseypie5555 …yeah that didn’t happen
7:35 WAIT A SEC ISNT THAT "REGRET" FROM PERSONA 5 YES IT IS
As a 76ers fan, this video hurts. But as a Philly fan, this is the pain that we live for...
Philadelphia 76ers: Trust the Process or BUST
Seeing how they continue to go backwards every season, the Process is nothing but a JOKE.
That game winner at Toronto was the beginning of their downfall.
I don't know what's better. The fact that Tree hits the nail on the head with Philly, or the fact that be used ODST music in the background.
I thought this was a new video. It took me until the end of the video to realize that it was from 2 years ago lmao. Some things never change
Aged like a fine wine 🍷
Last time I was this early, the NBA playoffs were stopped. Too soon?
Congratulations 76ers your team still can't make it past the second round
It's about that time of year for this video to be relevant and bring me joy once more!... especially since Boston's fate is all but sealed.
Respect for the waves beat in the background
the process should've been dead long ago, but here we are, the philly chokers are now eliminated. wonder if they'll continue the process next season.
many ppl are deleting their comments
They should keep em up. If you have the room to talk shit, you should have the room to take it as well.
Might be too late if it shows up on the new Tree video about the Sixers.
@@Jugglerexe Aaaand it did lol
2021: You finished the regular season as #1 seed.
To no one surprise, you lost to the #5 seeds the Atlanta Hawks in the second round while blowing 26 point lead in the process.
And once again Ben Simmons choke big time in game 7.
The Sixers played the Wizards in the first round, not the Celtics
@@ChiefBlue4298 Oops I just noticed it. Too fixated on Sixers getting revenge on Celtics.
Me: *watching a UrinatingTree video*
UT: *uploads this*
Me:.....he knew of my presence
Not re-signing Jimmy Butler is the dumbest thing the Sixers have done since trading away the #1 pick in 1986 then Trading Moses Malone for a bag of used basketballs and an injury prone Jeff Ruland. With Jimmy Butler this team would have been a true contender.
This video aged very well actually, ya hate to see it Philly
Fun fact, there’s a weapon in the RPG TES 3: Morrowind that’s named “Eltonbrand.” One of the developers was a huge Duke fan.
Sure is. Kudos to you for remembering that.
The fact used the beat from J cole's "False Prophets" when talking about the past 76ers GMs is absolutely perfect
