I think you are so brave! I don't know if I would be brave enough to just drive off in a minivan on my own and go wherever my fancy would take me. It seems wonderful though and I'm glad you're sharing your adventures with us! About the stray animals: Many years ago, I worked for a few months in Kalithea on the greek island of Rodos. It was the same situation there, homeless cats and dogs everywhere. It was really sad to see so many malnourished and mistreated animals. I wished I could take them all home with me.
Absolutely beautiful scenes both land and drone. Mariana, I love that you’re never in a rush. You take the opportunity to stop and check out amazing places even if they are out of the way a little. ❤❤
Your lifestyle shows great wisdom... having a comfortable permanent residence as a base... and the freedom of a mobile/RV life when you want to travel. It's very refreshing and reassuring ,with so much of Europe caught up in the mindless, fratracidal war fever, to see someone continuing with a normal life. You ... as always.. display common sense and demonstrate that you are indeed an independent, free thinking person. Enjoy your travels and please... stay safe.
Marina you have chosen the wrong time to visit Bulgaria. I was there summer travelled from Varna to Nessebar on a cometa. Best holiday ever. You really need to go back in the summer. In Varna I have visited the very first school. Even I had to put my had down to get inside the building. The class table is a box filled up with sand and using sticks to write in it. Absolutely facinating history there in Bulgaria. Enjoy keep warm and safe.🫂 from sunny Australia. We had a few days ago 42°C we were melting. Now only 31 much better. If you wish to warm up you are welcome to come 😊.
It's so hard for me to see so many homeless Critters, I can't understand how these countries don't enforce pet ownership laws. Your trips always make me want to hit the road again. Thank you for another great video. 😊
Greece has had economic hardships plus an influx of refugees (millions pass through) it’s important not to Judge “these countries” if this situation touches you, consider helping?
Access to free it cheap spay/neuter programs and Trap, Neuter, Return programs are much more effective for curbing animal colonies. Most of the animals you see on the streets never belonged to anyone. Keeping pets is a cultural thing and some cultures perceive community animals as totally normal. What they lack is affordable ways to care for community animals.
Big difference in temperature re Greece and Bulgaria. You are very brave to embark on these interesting journeys. Stay safe, please. I'm so glad that you are 'taking us along'. Thank you.
As recently 2 years ago, I did a number of solo road trips in the Western US as a 66-year old female. Im aware of my surroundings and don’t do anything stupid and really never think about ‘danger’ We have break-ins, car thefts, etc all the time in my wealthy San Francisco area county …. But I simply cannot spend every day worrying about what Might happen here or on the road. All that said, I did get hopelessly lost in the Italian Alps above Lake Como a few years ago and nothing I tried got me out of the thick old Roman forest. Fortunately, I had enough battery left in my phone to call a friend who called a friend who called someone in the Menaggio area who then called the Italian Mountain Rescue Service which sent a helicopter to come looking for me. I was SO embarrassed to be the silly American Tourist lost on a mountain !!!! You Go Marina! ❤
My daughter has travelled throughout Europe staying at Nunneries and Monasteries - very inexpensive and most decent. I went traveling in S.E Asia many moons ago and ended up in Laos with no plan. I did not know what to expect but having been primarily an urban dweller, moving between busy city life and empty beach life, I had no experience of trekking nor exploring and Lao was my first adventure. I was blown away by what lay inside mountains! Cave exploration was incredible and was the highlight of my time there - everything from strange, tiny local spots to enormous caverns that could hide armies. It was this trip that eventually led me to go to Nepal.
Great to see you out on the road again making informative videos. Recently sold my VW T5 camper and your video is rearlly making me miss the van 👍🏴🏴
"Clooty Well" sends it's regards. Sun been shining, quite mild for time of year and HAzel Catkins are showing lovely fressh green. No wonder you have been getting poor weather - chucking all that catz n dogs, ( you must have stood in a few poodles ( wee joke ) ) I'm sure the countryside would have been so meach better in warm sunshine, otherwise it looks just like here on a bleak miserable day! Keep those wheels turning! best wishes.

Hi Marina. I feel for those animals out in the cold. Bless you for giving them food & attention. Lovely ornate buildings there. Look after yourself till next time xx
No, no, no! You didn't take the wrong way! ;) Taking the road to Bulgaria and visiting the Rila monastery was a great choice and as u said earlier - you almost light a candle there, right! Which for a non religious person says a lot ;) Marina, I am happy to see youon the road in the two countries I callmy home - Bulgaria, the country I was born and Greece - where I found my love and my current home! As I wrote earlier you are always welcome to stay to ourplace or justfor some random ideas the next time u visit this side of the world. In the meantime - we are with you watching your videos and enjoying your company. Greetings!
Hi Marina, I'm very happy that you decide to visit Bulgaria even in the cold weather right now. This is my own country. Next time you could visit Kazanlak and Karlovo in the Roses valley. On May we celebrate the Festival of roses. Highly reccomendet 🙂
Marina, you should purchase a code reader for your van, they are easy to use and will tell you what the check engine light is indicating. It includes a booklet for the codes,so you know what parts are in need of service. Get a medium priced one, they are very resonable, and they can be used on any vehicle you might have. It will also help you keep the mechanic's honest. Wishing you safe travels
As others have said, a cheap code reader can be a big help with such vehicle faults - I bought myself one recently after a similar problem, the engine light coming up on a Sunday afternoon when everything was shut! Also, remember that those vans are sold under several brand names (Daihatsu, for example), so if they can't read Piaggio, they might be able to use one of the others.
Obviously you had the worst possible weather when you tried this trip. I know it was heavily snowing even at the southern part of Greece, but on the other hand you were all alone in this wonderful landscape. Since you are in the area, try a trip with the train from the village Taxiarches to Drama, travelling by the river Nestos. It's a magnificent path. Safe travels.
Thank you for feeding all the animals you meet along your journey. Looking forward to watch your next vlog. Have a safe trip. Btw, I always keep a bag of cat food in my car too.
